Casa Caliosa : Matapalo treehouse beachfront home

A nossa estadia na casa da Jenn foi uma experiência! Um lugar que te conecta com a natureza como poucos que já vi. Matapalo já é um lugar especial e a casa da Jenn é a cereja do bolo! Há Poucos passos da praia e rodeada por uma natureza exuberante e muitos animais especiais para se observar! É um lugar de paz para quem busca tranquilidade, calma, conexão e exclusividade. Matapalo foi meu lugar favorito em toda Costa Rica e ficar na casa da Jenn contribuiu para que tudo ficasse ainda mais especial! Voltaremos com certeza… super recomendo!

If you’re looking for a beautiful treehouse in the middle of the jungle, this is the place to be. Chad was an incredible host. Gave us the best instructions around the area, about surfing and restaurants. The house is so beautiful and it is completely integrated to the amazing nature surrounding us. I will definitely come back to this place.

Wonderful place in the jungle with monkeys, tucans, Ara, etc etc. Real Costa Rica experience - Pura Vida. Lovely and really helpful hosts!

Great, place in the middle of nature, with loads of wild animals! Jennifer and the local manager were awesome people, easy to communicate with, gave us information contacts to taxi and organized a surfboard. :) Definitely recommendable!

Where do I even begin!! Without a doubt one of the most extraordinary places we have ever stayed. A dream come true. Waking up every morning to spider monkeys and capuchin monkeys swinging through the trees a few feet away — unreal. You’ll experience the unrivaled biodiversity of the Osa just by spending time here. Howler monkeys all around. Macaws flying overhead constantly. The beach on the property!! The cabin itself is absolutely amazing, with delightful design details, and extremely good air circulation so the nights are magically cool despite the daytime heat. Jenn & Chad are the kindest and coolest people imaginable, and they have so many spot-on recommendations for the area. With most of the roads now paved it’s very easy to access. You’re nestled in nature, and it feels extremely private even with a couple other houses on the property. Everything is breathtaking, do not hesitate.

Jenn was absolutely amazing! She was so kind and welcoming, and the place was absolutely gorgeous. We got a lot of amazing local recommendations and connections from Jenn. Matapalo is truly a hidden gem, we already can’t wait to come back :)

It's the perfect place to go off grid for a while. The beaches are beautiful, and there are plenty of places to explore, swim, surf, or just hang around.

Caliosa is a wonderful place to stay. Super clean, it has all the commodities and is surrounded by a piece of heaven on earth. As other guests have commented previously, this little house is not for everybody as climbing up to bed could be challenging for some, just take this into account before booking! Jenn is a really gracious and welcoming hostess, her good vibe is contagious! If you have any questions, she has all the answers! This place is truly a gem, we’ll be back for sure!

We stayed at Casa Caliosa for 3 nights and found everything to be lovely - exactly as in the photos and description. Jenn was very responsive to questions during the booking process and ahead of our arrival, and provided clear instructions on how to find the property, and we were welcomed by Chad on arrival. We didn't have a car, but enjoyed exploring the area on foot, and found the beautiful Backwash Bay following Chad's directions. The monkeys in the grounds were entertaining to watch, and one evening we were joined by a curious coati whilst we were eating supper outside! We really enjoyed watching the wildlife, including the huge numbers of pelicans in the bay. Jenn was very helpful providing instructions on where to find an ATM in Puerto Jimenez. Lovely place, great location, friendly, helpful hosts.
