To come and discover our little corner of paradise is to choose to get off the beaten track for an experience in a magical place that we'll be happy to share with you. La Cima del Mundo is a 5-hectare property at an altitude of 1,300 m, in a calm, peaceful environment surrounded by lush nature, offering unique views of the valley and mountains. The house is comfortable and warm, just like the welcome we like to offer to our guests. The space La casita del Sol is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. From its covered terrace, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the mountains while sipping your morning coffee, or admiring one of our amazing sunsets. You'll also have plenty of time to observe hummingbirds and other lovely birds. You can relax in the living-dining room with fireplace, or prepare your favorite meals in the fully-equipped kitchen. The two double bedrooms offer comfortable sleeping space for four. The bathroom features a shower with hot water. The water is drinkable, it’s the public water from a source in the forest behind us. This water supplies 3 villages in the valley. Small private garden area behind the house. Strong and stable Wifi internet connection, allowing all types of online work (classes, meetings, etc.) without any problems. Access to the house is via a stone staircase. Covered parking nearby. We've made this casita a warm and artistic place where you immediately feel at home. Guest access You'll have access to our whole property, except our house. You'll be able to enjoy the spectacular view of our valley from our view point. To be there at sunset, accompanied by the song of the toucans, is an incredible and unforgettable experience. Children can enjoy the playground with trampoline, sandbox and swings. Starting from our property, there's a trail, relatively flat and big, of around 4 km through the forest, where you may see Capuchin monkeys, spider monkeys, coatis and other wildlife. There are many activities to do in the valley, such as hiking, trekking up to over 3800 m, walking, waterfalls, hot-water pools, trout fishing, horse riding, paragliding, river swimming, visits to farms producing delicious cheeses, coffee, etc. All these activities are between 5 and 8 km from our location. Our valley also offers a good choice of restaurants with excellent value for money. There's also a bakery and an organic grocery store. A small, friendly market is held every Wednesday in the village of Chimirol, 3 km from our place. San Isidro del General, the largest town in southern Costa Rica, is just 17 km away, with all the necessities. Expatriates from 18 years in this beautiful little country, we aim to offer our guests a unique and memorable vacation experience. We'd be delighted to share our local knowledge with you and help you plan activities during your stay. Whether you want to explore the surrounding mountains, discover the local wildlife or simply relax with a massage, we're here to help! Other things to note We recommend the use of a 4x4 or SUV to get to our house and to visit the region and the country freely. There is no washing machine or tumble dryer in the house but we do offer a laundry service for $20 a load, washed/dried/folded.

Our stay was far beyond expectation ! The guest Swin and her family were very friendly and gave us a feeling to be home, with all privacy you want during a vacation. We live in Costa Rica and are exploring to relocate. They gave us soooo many tips to help us getting around. The house is beautifully build by the owner himself including all furniture, and decorated super cosy and stylish— a house with heart. Mega clean and the internet was SUPER for the work we do online (meeting with students on zoom), uploading, downloading .. All worked good👌 Super nice beds and towels, fully equipped kitchen, the private garden was super cute too with the barbecue. And very informative book about things to do in the area, games, books … nice lights. Electricity plugs on all places you need one. It’s a stay we will definitely will come back to and that we’ll recommend to all our contacts! And to you reading the reviews ☺️ Perfect for bird spotters and hike lovers !

we live on the coast and visited Chirripo for a weekend getaway. we loved swin's Cabin. it is secluded in the mountains yet not more than 10 minutes from Kapi Kapi Restaurant and 5 minutes from rivers you can play in. Swin was a gracious host. and the best was the fire place!!!!!! MAGICAL

Nous avons adoré terminer notre séjour au Costa Rica à la Cima del Mundo, dans le calme et la fraîcheur. Swin et sa famille ont crée un endroit très spécial, où tout à été construit à la main et avec un amour du détail. Swin a été d’une extrême gentillesse, elle m’a même aidée avec un problème médical avant notre arrivée. Lilo, le cadet de la famille, est un sacré garçon, tellement drôle et sympathique, et il s’est fait un plaisir de nous faire découvrir tout le domaine. Si vous êtes à l’aise pour conduire avec un 4x4 sur des routes de montagnes, vous pouvez faire pleins de belles promenades à 20-30 minutes de route, avant de rentrer pour admirer le coucher du soleil depuis votre terrasse. Je recommande à 100%!

beautiful property!! beautiful and comfortable home!! amazing gem of a spot in the jungle. far enough away but still reasonably accessible. will be our number 1 spot when we return to Costa Rica. host and family were extremely nice and hospitable. would have liked to stay a few more weeks

Wij hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf in het knusse huisje. Swin en haar familie zijn erg hartelijk en zorgen ervoor dat je je welkom en thuis voelt. De omgeving is erg mooi en er is van alles te doen (krijgt hier ook veel tips over).

Wir hatten als 4-Köpfige Familie einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt bei Swin. Die Unterkunft ist geschmackvoll und außergewöhnlich vom Design. Die Umgebung sehr ruhig und naturbelassen. Wir konnten die Spielgeräte mit benutzen und unser Sohn spielte Fußball mit dem Sohn der Gastgeber. Dadurch fühlten wir uns sehr gut aufgehoben. Beachten sollte man die herausfordernde Anfahrt. Wie Swin auch hinweist, ist mindestens ein SUV erforderlich. 20 Minuten Bergauf über Stock und Stein. Zum Glück waren wir für 2 Tage mit Essen ausgestattet, sodass wir nicht nochmal ins Dorf mussten und so die Ruhe voll ausnutzen konnten. Bringt Insektenspray mit. Es gibt doch einige Miskotos.

No words can express how amazing this place was! We stayed in a beautiful cottage on top of a ridge that was spacious, comfortable, and downright magical. Any time I need some peace and serenity, I will return—hopefully again and again!

Nous avons eu un véritable coup de cœur pour la Cima del mundo ! Swin et Jedy sont des hôtes à l’écoute, bienveillants, et toujours prêts à partager leurs précieux conseils pour profiter pleinement des environs. Leurs recommandations pour les balades étaient parfaites, et nous ont permis de découvrir des coins magnifiques de la vallée de Chirripo. Le cadre est superbe, entouré de nature, calme et ressourçant. La maison dans laquelle nous logions était spacieuse, confortable, et encore plus belle que sur les photos ! Un vrai coin de paradis pour s’évader, se ressourcer et respirer. Merci encore pour tout 🙏 À très bientôt, on l’espère 💛
