This was an exceptional stay. The house is built in the style of a treehouse, but it’s very spacious. Every room is large and thoughtfully designed. We especially enjoyed nights on the upper terrace in the open air. In the mornings, we woke to birds chirping and monkeys in the trees. The terrace itself is huge, and the house is full of details – beautifully made mosaics and small pieces of art that make it unique. The whole space is very clean and well maintained. The host is absolutely responsive. Great days.

Magnifique maison en bois ouverte sur la jungle très proche de la super plage de playa Carillo. La maison est une maison typique assez ancienne et de très belle facture. Elle est très grande avec plusieurs espaces intérieur et extérieur au rez de chaussée , 3 grandes chambres et chacune leur salles de bain . L’espace au dernière étage est merveilleux avec hamac suspendu pour encore mieux voir les animaux . La maison est très agréable à vivre et le cadre est magnifique! Zoraida qui s’occupe de la maison est très gentille et cuisine très bien ! Un bémol: la maison aurait besoin de quelques petits travaux de rénovations et d’entretien pour être plus confortable et rester belle encore longtemps !

Das Kupu Kupu Haus ist ein echtes Erlebnis. Es liegt mitten im Jungle. Als wir ankamen turnten die Affen in den Bäumen. Die Haushälterin empfing uns mit einem Lächeln und zeigte uns das Haus. Es hat sehr viele schöne Örtchen auf diesem Gelände die man nutzen kann zum Entspannen und in Tagträumen zu versinken. Da das Haus offen und im Wald ist, solltest du damit rechnen das Waschbären, Insekten und andere Tiere mit dir den Wohnraum teilen. Kurz: Es war ein tolles Erlebnis! Wir werden noch lange darüber berichten.

Wunderschöne Anlage inmitten der Natur – das Baumhaus bietet ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis! Die Aussicht ist traumhaft, man fühlt sich wirklich eins mit der Umgebung. Die Unterkunft ist liebevoll gestaltet und bietet eine tolle Atmosphäre zum Abschalten. Ein Highlight: In den Bäumen auf dem Grundstück tummeln sich regelmäßig Affen – ein echtes Naturerlebnis direkt vor der Haustür! Einziger kleiner Nachteil: Die Bauweise ist sehr offen, was zwar den Charme ausmacht, aber auch dazu führt, dass es feucht sein kann – besonders bei hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit oder Regen. Trotzdem ein sehr empfehlenswerter Ort für alle, die Natur pur suchen und ein bisschen Abenteuer mögen!

We stood at this location for five days this July 2025. The location was easy to find and situated in nature.... but a minute drive to local restaurants and about 8 minute drive to Carrillo beach, which is beautiful and less people (If you like less crowds but don't want to drive 3 hours). Samara is about a 10 minute drive for shopping and more restaurants. do the nearby Sodas, the food is great and half as much as Samara. The house itself is a truly open air. We were prepared with bug spray! Our teen boys enjoyed the time in the pool and just relaxing. We had some crazy storms and with the main bedroom being so open to the elements it surprising it was well-protected from the rain and wind. It was pleasant to wake up and go to sleep listening to the sounds from the variety of bird and insects. There were howler monkeys nearby that we got to see and listen to during our stay. The house was safe and it quiet and away from nearby roads.

Kattias jungle house is exactly as it is described. It’s beautifully structured and makes you feel like you’re getting the full Costa Rican experience. The location is wonderful- just minutes away from a beautiful because and we discovered a local bakery “roots” that was our go to spot. Even with poor planning on our end with visiting in the rainy season we really enjoyed our stay here.

Wow, wow, WOW! Staying at Casa Kupu Kupu was like stepping into a real-life jungle dream. We pulled up and just stood there, jaws dropped — the house is stunning and the setting is straight out of a movie. Zoraida greeted us with a big smile and made everything super easy. Every morning we woke up to the sounds of howler monkeys, birds singing, and iguanas just casually hanging out. My kids couldn’t believe it — it felt like we were living in a rainforest adventure (minus the survival gear). Total core memory! The house had everything we needed, plus it’s just a short drive to Puerto Carrillo Beach — which quickly became our favorite. Simply beautiful! Perfect for swimming, relaxing, or just soaking up the pura vida vibes. This was the kind of trip we’ll be talking about for years. If you’re lucky enough to book this place — don’t hesitate. Just go. You’ll thank yourself later.
