The Space
Welcome to Casa Ogopogo, a newly renovated and spacious 5-bedroom home located in Surfside Playa Potrero. This private residence features a large pool and covers approximately 4,000 square feet, including the outdoor covered deck. It comfortably accommodates up to 17 guests with three master bedrooms, two children's rooms, and a sofa bed in the living room.
Please note that all reviews prior to 2023 reflect the property before a major renovation completed in January 2023. Every aspect of the home has since been upgraded.
The layout offers privacy and family-friendly spaces:
- Master Bedroom One: The largest room with a king-size bed, living area, flat-screen TV, and pool views. It includes a spacious en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, dual vanity, and walk-in closet. This master connects internally to Bedroom Two, making it ideal for families.
- Bedroom Two: Designed for children, this room has two bunk beds (double beds on the bottom and singles on top), sleeping up to six kids. It also features a wall-mounted TV and two closets.
- Bedroom Three: A second master suite accessible from the living room, featuring a king-size bed, armoire, and private en-suite bathroom with a bright, large shower and dual vanity.
- Bedroom Four: Suitable for another couple or children, this room includes a queen bunk bed (queen on the bottom and single on top) and a TV, perfect for bringing video games.
- Bedroom Five: A private room with a king-size bed and a large sliding door leading to the outdoor shower and pool deck.
Between Bedrooms Four and Five is a large bathroom with a dual vanity and walk-in shower. The living room sofa pulls out into a queen-sized bed for additional guests.
Air conditioning units are installed throughout the home and in every bedroom, making it ideal for two or three families or a large group seeking space and comfort.

Kitchen and Dining
Casa Ogopogo features a large eat-in kitchen equipped with new appliances, cabinetry, and a quartz countertop with counter-height stools. Adjacent to the kitchen is a square dining table seating eight guests.
Indoor seating totals 12, including bar stools, with an additional 12 seats available outdoors, accommodating up to 24 guests in total.
A small bar area off the dining room opens onto the spacious covered pool deck through giant sliding doors. This outdoor space offers:
- A large dining area
- New lounge chairs with pool views
- A large pool with in-water stools and a bench for relaxing
Outdoor Features
The property is surrounded by a tall concrete wall and gate, ensuring privacy and security. The grounds include:
- Coconut, palm, and mango trees
- An outdoor shower
- A forested area nearby where howler monkeys may occasionally be spotted

This is a great place for a large family get togther. It is a big place. The airconditioning is great. The swimming pool is also great and the host was very responsive. You can not go wrong booking this place if this is the area you want to be in and you have a large group. Very accomodating.

This Airbnb is a gem! Just 12-15 minutes from Playa Flamingo, it’s the perfect mix of convenience and tranquility. The home was spotless, well-equipped, and had everything we needed. Alexandra, the property manager was fantastic, offering great local tips and making check-in a breeze. Whether you're here to relax or explore, this place is ideal. Highly recommend!

Casa Ogopogo is a fantastic and modern house! Very convenient layout for a larger group, very nice kitchen, very large and overall very stylish and, once again, fresh and modern. Swimming Pool is amazing. Its about 10 min walk to the Portrero beach, but we usually went to Playa Flamingo, which is about 6-7 minute ride. Both beaches are beautiful. However Flamingo had much clearer water, better sand and more things to do. Loved the area! If you drive from airport, there is a rough patch of the unpaved road leading to house. I'd recommend to have AWD. The host was extremely helpful and friendly! Very easy communication and always available! I highly recommend Casa Ogopogo!

The place is as described and was very clean. Although the directions for getting inside were complex, Angie and her house manager Alex do a really great job of explaining it and are quick to answer any questions the renters may have. There were a few issues that came up during our stay however, Alex was very responsive and apologetic. Overall, this place worked well for our group and we would recommend it in the future. One thing to know, when we arrived in Costa Rica due to the fact the house doesn’t have an actual address it was a challenge to share with the customs officer where we were going. Eventually, they confirmed the location and let us go on our way, but just something to consider for the future if others run into that situation as well.

We had a fantastic stay! The house was very comfortable and spacious for our group of 11. The pool and outdoor lounge area were perfect for relaxing, and the location was great—close to restaurants, with one beach within walking distance and others just a short drive away. The gated property and alarm system made us feel very safe. Highly recommend for a fun and stress-free getaway!

The house is perfectly designed to accommodate a large group, kids friendly, clean and well located, about 7 min walk to the beach. Alex was super nice, allowed us to check in earlier, provided very clear directions and check in instructions. She always responded quickly, provided great local recommendations, and connected us with a great chef, who turned out to be cheaper than any restaurant and prepared enough food to last for days. Our family of 10 really enjoyed the house :)
