The California is a two-story building situated in a safe and quiet neighborhood in the southern part of Jaco Beach. The studios feature artistic touches, fresh bed linens, and two clean towels. Although not beachfront, the property is located about a 10-minute walk from the ocean.

Location

Guest Access and Directions

The California is located on Calle Santana.

From the North:
Travel along Avenida Pastor Diaz, passing the Municipalidad building, a church, and a small bridge. The Beach Break Hotel will be on your right, and Calle Santana on your left. Turn left onto Calle Santana. Look for Hotel Perico Azul, which is directly across from the main gate entrance.

From the South:
On Avenida Pastor Diaz, pass Club del Cielo. Calle Santana will be on your right. Turn right here and look for Hotel Perico Azul across from the main gate.

From the Local Bus Stop:
If you get off at the Beach Break Hotel, Calle Santana will be directly in front of you. If you stop at the Municipalidad building, follow the directions from the north.

From the Main Bus Station:
The main bus station is in the town center, about a 30-minute walk from the property. It is recommended to take a taxi or Uber (approximately $4-6 USD) and ask to be dropped off at Hotel Perico Azul on Calle Santana. Then follow the directions from the north.

Entrance and Parking

• The main entrance features a large black iron gate directly opposite Hotel Perico Azul.
• There is no private parking; street parking is available.
• The property does not have a visible sign for The California.
• Self-check-in is provided, with access details sent via Airbnb messaging.
• Arrival times are strictly between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
• Guests must securely close the gate behind them to maintain safety and prevent unauthorized entry.

Important Notes and House Rules

• No extra guests, loudspeakers, or parties are permitted.
• Smoking is prohibited in rooms and common areas.
• This is an economy accommodation without a reception desk, room service, or daily housekeeping.
• Airbnb contacts are available for messaging between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM to assist with questions, transfers, and transportation.
• Housekeeping visits every five days; weekly service is provided for long-term guests.
• Guests are responsible for keeping the kitchen clean and washing dishes; this is not part of housekeeping duties.
• Essentials such as toilet paper, plastic bags, or maintenance requests can be requested via Airbnb messaging between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
• Please dispose of toilet paper in the trash bin to avoid plumbing issues.
• There is no guest access to the washer/dryer; these are reserved for staff and housekeeping only.
• An outdoor shower is available to rinse off sand before entering the studio, helping to prevent pipe blockages.
• Be cautious with key access to avoid locking yourself out; no guest assistance is available after 8:00 PM.
• Management is not responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings inside or outside the property.
