The Space
Experience natural beauty and spectacular views at Canyon Casa. The open floor plan features a large wall of windows that fills the interior with natural light throughout the day. From inside, you can admire the lush green mountains and the impressive Rio Virilla.
Enjoy your morning coffee while watching toucans, macaws, and monkeys play from two covered decks. Meals can be savored in the Japanese garden, adjacent to a fully equipped modern kitchen. Food enthusiasts will appreciate the opportunity to pick fresh seasonal fruits from the on-site farm.
Outside the home, hiking trails begin right at your doorstep, and the property is conveniently close to several towns and attractions:
- Ciudad Colón
- Santa Ana
- Escazú
- San José International Airport (just minutes away)
- Jaco beach (approximately one hour away)
Canyon Casa comfortably accommodates up to six guests, making it ideal for couples, families, or groups of friends. Sleeping arrangements include:
- King bedroom in the loft
- Queen bedroom downstairs
- Separate sleeping area downstairs with a queen bed
Guest Access
Guests have full access to the entire property. Excellent hiking and mountain biking opportunities are available directly from the driveway. The road leading to the house is very private with minimal traffic.
Additional Information
- Curtains are motorized and controlled exclusively by remote; please do not attempt to open or close them manually.
- Air conditioning units can be adjusted using the wall controllers located to the left of each television.
- If you experience any difficulties using the waterfall or river feature in the garden, please contact us for assistance.
- The office space includes a large desk with all necessary supplies and a comfortable leather office chair. High-speed fiber optic internet supports smooth video conferencing and live trading activities.
Important Notes
Costa Rica occasionally experiences power and water outages. You may also encounter local wildlife such as scorpions, snakes, mosquitoes, flies, and bees, which are part of the natural ecosystem.
For all long-term stays, a mandatory cleaning service is required every 15 days to maintain the property. The cleaning fee is $120 USD and can be paid through the Airbnb platform.
Check-out time is 10:00 AM. Late check-outs incur a fee of $50 per hour. Thank you for your understanding.

Jessica’s and Travis place was amazing with the views. From the look out back to the beautiful house, it was a picture perfect moment. They were clear with all the instructions and helpful when we needed information! Yes the river is beautiful waking up to but Marco was the highlight of our trip. Marco is the house keeper and friends with the host! Anything that we needed to get done or asked for, he fulfilled. He’s family oriented and someone that knows/loves his country. I was thankful to have him for the experience! Overall a great experience, an amazing scenery and caring people around. Definitely a 10/10 adventure!

This review reflects our personal experience and is intended to help future guests. The home is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and has incredible views. The host was responsive and helpful, and the driver was great. Our biggest challenge was the road access. The drive includes several very sharp curves and was difficult for us, especially at night. Because of this, we did not feel comfortable being out late and driving back after dark. This is a great place if you want to relax and spend most of your time at the property. However, if you plan to explore Costa Rica and return late in the evening, the roads may be challenging. We booked four nights but left early and stayed at a hotel closer to the areas we wanted to visit. I asked the host about a partial refund for the unused nights, but it was declined. While the location is described in the listing, I personally feel the road conditions and nighttime driving challenges could have been explained in more detail.

Jessica and Travis’s place is just as described and pictured. It is secluded and has a spectacular view of the luscious forest surrounding it! The huge windows let in so much natural light and it’s magical to wake up to! Jessica and Travis are very responsive and their house manger Marco is wonderful! Would highly recommend and would certainly stay here again!

What an amazing hidden jem yet close to town. Beautiful view, well decorated. Full of nature. It’s like being in the jungle yet close to amenities. Airport only 40 minutes away. Very comfortable bed and furniture. The road getting there is steep but in great condition. Marco the house keeper picked us up from the airport as we had no car. He helped us get around for our stay. Took a few close by tours arranged with Marco. The owners have thought of every detail to make your stay outstanding. They even stopped by to check on us when they were in town. I can’t wait to check out all of their places.

This was a cool house in a pretty nice location. The view is great, saw some interesting wild life. I've booked quite a few homes in the mountains of CR and not once have I seen a group of monkeys comes through. Here was the first time, while on the porch one morning around 0830 lots of Capuchin monkeys passed by. That experience alone was well worth my stay, I'm talking like 20+ monkeys, it was unreal. Check-in was great, host was able to accommodate my late arrival and went over the property. Would stay again. TY

Beware: this property in not represented properly in listing. I booked house for 7 days had to leave after 1 day. I didn't feel safe. Driveway was steep, narrow and very dangerous. Steps to 1 bedroom is a ladder and other bedroom steps are steep and slippery. anyone with any physical challenges,older age, young children will definitely struggle and chance falling. the listing shows photos of a beautiful Japanese garden there was NO Garden ! just a table & chairs by the driveway. When we checked in we discovered a sign on dishwasher that it was broken then to also discover the TV was broken. After a 1 day stay feeling unsafe we checked out, the host refused to give a partial refund and even turn around and blamed us for a broken washer & dryer. We never even used either. I feel scamed by the host to pay the already broken appliances. When trying to resolve ALL these issues the host was very rude and very uncooperative. I've never felt more unsafe then at this air b & b.

Wow, At the risk of sounding like a broken record..because every guest says it...The view is absolutely incredible..but the sound of nature is also amazing. We had 3 fantastic days living in our own private paradise in the middle of nature..with regular shows from the monkeys and the toucans..honestly it was a privilege to be so close. Then of course there is the actual accommodation..absolutely faultless.. stunningly beautiful..the photos don't do it justice..all the finishes are top notch..and everything you could possibly need is there. absolutely gorgeous..it was a wrench to leave such perfection. Finally a shout out to Marco the house keeper who was incredibly responsive and helped us out of a pickle..thank you. Thoroughly recommend..and dream already of returning one day soon

Beautiful house with such an amazing view on the jungle. Well equipped, there is everything you need at just 30min from SJO. You need a 4wd to access the property !!!
