Beachfront 4BR villa in Playa Negra with stunning ocean views, private infinity pool, lush tropical gardens, and direct beach access. Perfect for relaxing and surfing getaways.
The Space
This Balinese-inspired home is beautifully set among lush tropical vegetation on the beach of Playa Negra, a popular surf spot. The elegantly rustic residence offers breathtaking ocean views accompanied by the calming sound of crashing waves, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
The house features a unique U-shaped design that surrounds a grassy courtyard and a refreshing infinity pool filled with cool water. Upstairs, an open-air balcony provides an ideal spot for watching the surf, enjoying a private massage, or practicing yoga.
Each bedroom has its own private entrance opening onto the courtyard, ensuring both privacy and easy access. On the opposite side of the courtyard, the kitchen, living room, dining area, and a fourth bedroom have separate entrances, further enhancing privacy and independence for all areas.
Casa Bosque includes four bedrooms with flexible sleeping arrangements:
- Two bedrooms with a king bed and a twin bed
- Two bedrooms with a queen bed and a twin bed
With a total of eight beds, the villa comfortably accommodates up to twelve guests. The layout separates the bedrooms from the kitchen and living room, allowing guests to relax undisturbed while others start their day or unwind in the evening.
Guest Access
Guests have exclusive use of the entire beachfront home. The property includes two houses within a gated compound. A smaller "casita" is located near the road and may occasionally be occupied. Casa Bosque, the main house, is fully enclosed beyond the front entrance, ensuring complete privacy.
Inside the front gate, there are no shared spaces between Casa Bosque and the casita or neighboring properties. The only shared area is the driveway and parking lot between the two homes.
Casa Bosque provides:
- A private pool
- A private pathway leading directly to the beach, accessible only to Casa Bosque guests
- A courtyard and pool area reserved exclusively for guests
Parking is available on-site behind a locked gate, with space for three cars. If you plan to bring more vehicles, please inform us so we can accommodate your needs.
Other Things to Note
-
The groundskeeper, Arley, works in the driveway and parking area most weekday mornings from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., maintaining the landscaping and trimming coconut fronds. He is available to assist with luggage or small tasks upon request. Access to the house and courtyard is granted only with your permission.
-
Raccoons are common in the area. Please place all trash bags inside the raccoon-proof box located just outside the front door. Bags left out overnight may be torn open by raccoons. Avoid leaving food outside and close kitchen and living room doors at night.
-
Pool cleaning and maintenance usually occur on Wednesday mornings around 8:30 a.m. This requires access to the courtyard and pool area. If you prefer a different time or day, please let us know to arrange a more convenient schedule.
-
Hermit crabs often wander into the courtyard and sometimes inside the house. They are harmless but might be surprising at first. If you need help removing them, Arley is happy to assist.
-
Geckos are commonly seen on ceilings inside homes in Costa Rica. Their presence is natural and poses no harm.
-
Nearby trees are home to howler monkeys, known for their distinctive calls. While the sound may be unfamiliar initially, it soon becomes a cherished reminder of the forest by the sea.
-
Power and water outages can occur frequently in Costa Rica. These interruptions usually last only a few minutes but occasionally may extend for several hours or, rarely, a full day. We will do our best to provide updates, and you are welcome to contact us for information.

This home is incredible!!! My family and I had the absolute best vacation! It is right on the beach with nature at your footsteps. Forrest and Andrea have thought of everything. We literally only went into town once to get groceries. The pictures can’t describe how beautiful and safe this home is. If you are looking for a quiet beach home that has nature and incredible views all around with one of the best beaches in Costa Rica this is the home for you. We will definitely be coming back.

Beautiful place with great pool and steps from the beach (just through the yard!). It had two bedrooms with a queen and si glue bed each which were perfect for a family (shared bathroom), then a master suite with a king and single bed. Finally, a room just off the kitchen with a bathroom outside. There is only one TV, which is in the master suite- we appreciated that so there was no need to constantly block the kids from not enjoying nature. Beach is very private and had one sandy path, but otherwise lots of rocks. The kids found all sorts of wildlife there! However, 5 min up the beach, you have the broad sand of playa negra. We would definitely come back!

Casa Bosque will forever be in our happy memories! My family had such an incredible stay here. The hosts, Forest and Andrea, were so attentive to our questions or needs. She even made us sourdough bread one morning! They were respectful of our space and felt genuinely glad we were enjoying ourselves. They took our families sunset pics the last night. It was great getting to know them! The home is picturesque and has everything you need to enjoy Playa Negra. The beautiful pool overlooked the ocean and tropical landscape. It was refreshing to lounge in during the heat of the day. The kitchen had every amenity we needed to fix coffee, breakfast, and lunch. We chose to try restaurants in the area for dinners each night. Howler monkeys delighted us a couple of days when we could see the family hopping through the trees. The beach out front was a dream to walk out to from your own private entrance. We will definitely be putting this home on our “go back to” list. We enjoyed every minute!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Bosque! The house fit 6 adults and 2 babies perfectly. From sunrise yoga and surf checks atop the rooftop porch, to splashing with the babies in the private pool, to falling asleep with the sound of crashing waves; it was a dream vacation. The beach was pristine and uncrowded, awesome for fishing and surfing. Forrest and Dre were super responsive and gave us excellent local recommendations, we loved them! Already trying to plan when we can return to this beautiful place!

With 3 teenage kids and escaping the US winter, this was the perfect destination and home for our family. From being able to teach our kids how to surf, to relaxing by the pool and enjoying oceans views from all over the house , Casa Bosque allowed us to experience the local scene at Los Pargos. Forest and Andrea have a wealth of knowledge about the area and were amazing hosts. We hope to be back!

One of our best Airbnb experiences ever! Andrea and Forest were super welcoming and always helpful/accessible for our group’s needs and had tons of outstanding recommendations as we enjoyed Playa Negra over New Years. The house itself is beautiful - love the layout, the pool was pristine, and the position steps from the beach could not be beat. Everything you could imagine needing was at our fingertips and if not, Andrea was happy to help us track it down! There are a number of grocery/restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive, and Playa Negra Hotel is just a short walk down the beach. Rooms were comfortable with lots of beds, clean linens, and great A/C! Kitchen was also super well appointed with lots of cooking and serving wares, and all the basics to include snacks to get us going and a water cooler that helped ensure we were well hydrated! We especially enjoyed the collection of games that we sampled during our visit. Thanks to Andrea and Forest for the hospitality!
