We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin in Tilarán! The cabin was cozy, charming, and surrounded by beautiful nature. It was peaceful, comfortable, and had such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and amazing view. We really enjoyed the beautiful setting and the thoughtful details throughout the cabin. Luis Alberto was an excellent host—very kind, responsive, and always quick to answer our messages. He made everything easy and made us feel well taken care of throughout our stay. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again if we come back to the area. Highly recommended! ❤️

This home is gorgeous!!! The location could not be more beautiful. We watched gorgeous sunsets over the mountains, and woke up to rainbows in the morning. Simply magical. The grounds are even more lovely than the photos, and Luis was a wonderful and quick communicator. Would absolutely stay here again!

The house in the clouds was the best part of our experience in Costa Rica. We loved being in the clouds and having the gorgeous view at all times. After a busy day of hiking and exploring it was great to come back to this peaceful home. The cabin is newly built and every detail has been thought of with great taste and efficiency. We enjoyed cooking our meals and loved sitting in the lovely garden. Luis was so friendly inviting us to see his beautiful cows and he made perfect recommendations. It is helpful to come equipped with rain gear and 4 wheel drive to make for the best time. We will definitely want to come back.

Definitely one of the best AirBnB's we've stayed at. La Casita is in a beautiful and really special setting. We loved the experience and hope to be able to come back someday. Everything was spotless, very well organized, and cared for with great attention to detail. I recommend using an SUV to get there more easily.

The cabin is a great choice for those looking for a calm and quiet place to stay. Host was very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were very easy, which I do appreciate a lot.

We spent two days in this slice of heaven near Monteverde. The place was beautiful, with its lovely, well-maintained garden, its stunning colors, and the Nicoya Peninsula beyond the pastures. The house has everything you need and is very well built by the owner; we were impressed! Nous avons passé deux jours dans ce coin de paradis près de Monteverde . L'endroit était magnifique avec ce beau jardin si bien aménagé, ses couleurs sublimes et la péninsule de Nicoya par delà les pâturages. Le logis a tout ce qu'il fait est est très bien construit par le propriétaire, nous en avons été impressionnés ! Les propriétaire nous ont bien accueilli et nous avait laissés de beaux œufs frais et du café de la région :) Nous resterons plus longtemps une prochaine fois! Merci encore pour tout! Its a beautiful house in a serene location. There’s a cute garden with herbs, and we saw many birds around in the trees. Luis graciously gave us free local coffee and milk from his farm. The only downside is the bad roads in the immediate area. You definitely need a 4x4 to get up the steep road to the house. Still recommend it though.

Spectacular views - I think this was the highlight of the trip - to be immersed in the sights, sounds, smells (from the herb garden) and watch the ever changing sky. A rainbow appeared in pretty much the same location multiple times in the morning. Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed in the kitchen and more. Short drive (under 20 mins or depending on the roads) to Santa Elena - a fun base to explore. Visit the Cari Cancha park (book with naturist guide Roy Parros, you’ll see so much more). Really appreciated the farm tour and visit to the magic tree with Samuel and hearing about Luis Alberto’s big heart and kindness - with so much care and respect for the cows, all the animals, the humans and the land. The cabin is well built and although quite cosy for a family of four there is room to enjoy on the deck, and in the beautifully maintained gardens. Be sure you stay at least a couple of nights (ideally more) to soak up this very specially crafted retreat in the clouds

a beautiful place to stay. so quiet and peaceful, a lovely home with everything you need after a day wildlife watching. the walks on site we an added bonus and we saw some fantastic birds. would absolutely go back

Luis‘s house was amazing. It had great views and it provided all the things we needed with a wonderful kitchen and plenty of space. the deck looked out on the expensive view of Monte Verde and the Nicoya Peninsula. We got to visit the dairy farm and see the operations of a family farm. It was close to the main town, but it was far enough away to be quiet and feel like you were on the edge of the world. It was really easy to access all of the parks. We would definitely come back and stay at Luis‘s place. Definitely five stars and would highly recommend.

Stunning house and garden! The views are fantastic! We can see the Gulf of Nicoya in the distance. The kids spent their time playing in the back paths and the garden. In short, it’s a peaceful and inspiring place! Thanks to Luis and Karina for their hospitality.

The hosts were very friendly and the instructions were clear. The views were incredible and the surroundings were beautiful. We were immersed in nature and it was very serene. The home was clean and very cute. Monteverde was relatively close by and easy to get to. Would definitely recommend for a getaway.

This was truly one of the best Airbnb experiences we have had. The house is situated at the top of a hill, offering stunning and picturesque views. We appreciated the charming cow-themed decor throughout the property. The herb garden was a wonderful feature, allowing us to prepare some delicious meals. Luis is an excellent host; he kindly provided fresh milk from his dairy, and the following day, we were given a tour of the dairy facility. My wife was also delighted to have the opportunity to feed and pet a recently born calf. If you are considering a stay in the Monteverde area, I highly recommend this property. It offers a memorable experience. The property is clean, well-equipped with all necessary amenities, and conveniently located near the town.

Where to begin with this beautiful experience! If you’re thinking about booking this spot, you must. Luis and his family were wonderful hosts who were so attentive, generous and welcoming. The home is stunning and on a gorgeous property close to town. Luis was also so kind and helped us with navigation in a foreign city for us. It was a perfect place to go back to after our monteverde adventures. Will book this place and with Luis every time I come to monteverde.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful, beautiful. The host was incredibly kind, responsive, and thoughtful. The views are truly spectacular, a million dollar setting where you’re sometimes literally in the clouds as they roll through, and the sunsets are absolutely stunning. We saw and heard toucans in the trees every day, which felt really special and unique. One of our favorite moments was getting to see and feed the calves on the farm. Such a memorable experience. The cabin was quiet, secluded, and very peaceful. Blackout curtains were a huge plus, especially with a baby, and check in and check out were super easy with the lockbox exactly where described. We made breakfast here every morning and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. 4x4 vehicle is definitely recommended. Easy access to town, waterfalls, shops, restaurants, and the cloud forest. If you’re looking for a serene farmstay with incredible views, wildlife, and a wonderful host, this is a fantastic choice.

This is a wonderful place to stay in Montevrede. The house itself is stunning. Luis Alberto has thought of every little detail. It's both modern and rustic at the same time. It's very private with no one to ruin your sleep or bother you in any way. About 15 minutes after we arrived we heard what sounded like a bird and when we got out we saw the most beautiful Toucan in the tree behind the house. The road to the house is a bit rough but a 4x4 will handle it with ease. We highly recommend this place if you plan to visit the Monteverde area. Luis Alberto also left some fresh eggs from his farm for us and some local coffee. We truly enjoyed our stay.

The house was exactly as described. The view was incredible and one of a kind - I would recommend anyone to stay here. Don Luis Alberto was extremely accommodating and very responsive. He even took the time to show us his dairy farm which was right around the corner - we very much appreciated it. When we will be back in Monteverde we will for sure try and stay here again:)

This property is outstanding. Pristine inside with a spacious bathroom, and unbeatable views! It is a bit off the beaten path, but definitely worth it to have a one-of-a-kind experience.

The house was fantastic with a really nice garden and the view was world class. Alberto’s communication was also spotless and they took really good care of us. We got some good advice regarding the area and even got to visit their farm where we fed some calfs. I hope we will come back :)

Luis' place in the hills was idyllic. Absolutely stunning views, comfortable accommodations, and great locale to explore the surrounding area, from Santa Elena to Tigre Falls. Luis was extremely generous in providing a tour of the dairy farm, which our daughter absolutely loved. We very much enjoyed reading on the porch and strolling through the garden. Luis was extremely communicative and the place was exactly as described. We'll definitely plan on returning on our next trip to Costa Rica! Thank you so much, Luis!

One of the most breathtaking AirBNBs I have ever stayed in! If you like to stay off the beaten path, a quiet place to unwind after a day of adventure, if your surroundings are more important than amenities, THIS IS YOUR PLACE. Luis' pristine wooded cabin is rustic, without feeling run down. A fully wooded, well appointed gem surrounded by a terraced garden, lovingly planted with herbs and veggies for your use. Make no mistake: it is small. If you need a place with ample indoor space to play games, watch a movie, stretch out and socialize, consider somewhere else. Though there are additional outdoor areas for gathering, we endured a week of sideways rain, so we cozied up inside every evening which suited our family of 3 just fine. There are two sleeping areas, but without doors, so when one person gets up in the morning, everyone gets up. All that said, for the right group, this is heaven on earth. Definitely get the 4x4 and hope you run into Luis on your walk--he is salt of the earth.

We had a wonderful time and LOVE the house and the property. It was so lovely and peaceful. the garden, the house, and everything just as described - but even more beautiful and cute. The orchids, herbs, flowers, and banana trees in the garden are beautiful and we saw some amazing birds. the house truly is in the clouds, and you can see the Gulf from the front! be forewarned, the roads there are rough but that is par for the course in the Monteverde region.

My husband and had a wonderful stay. It is a beautiful property, well appointed, and a very calm and peaceful location. I could have stayed there for much longer just sipping coffee on the patio, admiring the view, and strolling through the garden. Truly an incredible view. The part that will always stand out in my memory, though, is how kind and helpful our host was when we got lost driving up the mountain the night of our arrival. It was our mistake...we missed a turn and Google maps rerouted us and we didn't notice until we had gone in circles. When I texted Luis Alberto to confirm we were on the right route, he asked for a screenshot of our location and then got on a motorcycle and, with his son-in-law who speaks excellent English, drove out to meet us and shephard us the rest of the way to the home. In the middle of the night! I couldn't believe the kindness of our host...simply above and beyond to ensure our safety and comfort. Thank you Luis Alberto and Samuel!

The House in the Clouds was peaceful and beautiful.  We loved the garden and the views the most.  Luis and his entire family were so sweet to us and hosted us so well.

House of Clouds is an exceptional accommodation: you feel in the clouds, in contact with nature. It's very quiet; you can disconnect from stress. You fall asleep after a dinner seasoned with spices from their garden, before a spectacular sunset, and you wake up to a sunrise that makes you feel like you're on top of the world. If you wake up at night to the sounds of nature, feel lucky if you see a thunderstorm on the horizon. We'll definitely be back.

House of Clouds es un alojamiento excepcional: te sientes en las nubes, en contacto con la naturaleza. Es muy tranquilo; puedes desconectarte del estrés. Te duermes luego de una cena aderezada con especias de su huerta, previa a un atardecer espectacular, y te despiertas con un amanecer que te hace sentir a la altura de los nimbos. Si llegas a despertarte en la noche por ruidos propios de la naturaleza, siéntete afortunado si ves una tormenta eléctrica en el horizonte. Sin duda, volveremos.

Amazing authentic cabin literally in the clouds with a magnificent view and a beautiful, peaceful garden right outside the door. The atmosphere was magical. What truly made the experience special were our hosts, who went above and beyond with thoughtful recommendations for activities and restaurants. A real highlight was the private tour of their working dairy farm, where we even got to feed a newborn calf — an unforgettable moment for our family. This stay was the perfect mix of nature, comfort, and genuine local connection.

What a beautiful stay! We traveled from Seattle and were looking for a spot to experience Monteverde that was away from any hustle and bustle and this was it. The views from the home were incredible - open space to see the surrounding hills and all the way to the coast. The house was perfectly clean, the large windows out to the view were fantastic. The home is modern and feels very new.  The gardens were beautiful.  We picked fresh herbs and sweet peppers for a salad. Luis was a great host, his son in law met us for a warm welcome and gave suggestions for what to do in Monteverde. We also got to tour his dairy farm just down the road.  My kids got to feed a 2 day old baby calf and that was a highlight! Overall, the peacefulness of this location was a highlight of our trip to Costa Rica.

We loved our stay at this special place in Monteverde! We were left some beautiful fresh eggs and told to help ourselves to the awesome herbs and veggies in the garden. Such a gorgeous view and lovely space perfect for catching up on sleep while exploring the awesome area.

Fantastic little cabin in the most beautiful country side of Costa Rica Monte Verde region. The views were just out of this world and the stay at this place was incredible. Sitting out on the deck was my favorite part of every morning. I loved every minute of it. When we arrived we were even greeted by Samuel who works for Luis. It was such a nice personal touch and we felt so welcome. Perfect place to stay if you are looking for an authentic Costa Rica experience in Monte Verde. Pura Vida!

Great place to stay. We felt right at home. Everything very clean and well maintained. Very nice garden. The herbs growing there were also allowed to be used. Amazing views that are even better than the pictures. There were fresh eggs and local coffee to welcome you. In a secluded location. Absolutely unreserved recommendation.

Tolle Unterkunft. Wir habe uns gleich zuhause gefühlt. Alles sehr sauber und top gepflegt. Sehr schöner Garten. Die dort wachsenden Kräuter durften auch verwendet werden. Herrliche Aussicht, die noch besser als auf den Bildern ist. Zur Begrüßung gab es frische Eier und lokalen Kaffee. Sehr ruhig gelegen. Absolut uneingeschränkte Empfehlung.

This vacation rental has amazing views immerses you in nature with its surroundings and garden. It’s compact but worked well for our short stay to check out the El Tigre waterfalls. Driveway is steep gravel and 4x4 recommended. There was some noisy construction happening on the property but that was paused after speaking with the host. Much appreciated!

Wonderful stay! We went with our two little kids and they had a blast exploring the garden and property. It was so amazing waking up to the sun every morning with the most amazing views! The hosts were so kind and helpful as well. Highly recommend a stay here if going to visit Monteverde.

This is absolutely the best rental house I have ever stayed in! The house was gorgeous and clean and, for my family, the location was perfect. We like to be away from the hustle and bustle, but reasonably close to activities and restaurants. The best part of the stay was cooking the farm fresh eggs left by the host with fresh herbs picked on site that morning and eating it on the porch while watching the sunrise and birds (toucans, parrots, crested guan and more).

House above the will totally applies. It was wonderful! The space is a little difficult to reach absolutely 4x4 drive. Rest absolutely great.

The House in the Clouds was paradise! We stayed with our young children and our family was thrilled with the location. It’s a quiet retreat from Monteverde, with lots of bird watching as you look out over the mountains each morning. The pictures can’t do the view justice. You must have an all-wheel drive vehicle. The cabin is very new and has a generous bathroom. Views from every angle; can’t wait to return!

The place is amazing. Good beds, the rooms are not separated. The kitchen is super equipped. There's nothing missing. The bathroom is practical and modern. Coffee and eggs were available for welcome. It has a beautifully landscaped garden with a lot of herbs. The access road is very steep with many stones. It doesn't need a 4x4, but it definitely needs an SUV. The landlord was very helpful as we had a screw stuck in the tire, he even helped with the wheel change. We were thrilled with the waste separation. We were completely satisfied and can absolutely recommend this place.

Die Unterkunft ist fantastisch. Gute Betten, die Zimmer sind nicht abgetrennt. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet. Es fehlt an nichts. Das Badezimmer praktisch und modern. Zur Begrüssung standen Kaffee und Eier bereit. Es hat einen schön angelegten Garten mit vielen Kräutern. Die Zufahrtsstrasse ist sehr steil mit vielen Steinen. Es braucht keinen 4x4 aber sicher einen SUV. Der Vermieter war sehr hilfsbereit, da wir eine Schraube im Reifen eingefahren hatten half er sogar beim Radwechsel. Von der Abfalltrennug waren wir begeistert. Wir waren vollkommen zufrieden und können diese Unterkunft absolut weiter empfehlen.

This place is everything and more.  The Monteverde roads are tough, but boy was it worth it. The views from the bnb are truly incredible and lives up to the house in the clouds name. We loved all the blues and greenery. Such a beautiful mountainous region and we would love to go back!

Absolutely wonderful air bnb and with the most beautiful view. Would highly recommend staying here,  it's cosy inside and perfectly fitted with everything you need. The balcony and garden are great and such a nice place to watch the sunset/sunrise. It's very well located to loads of amazing activities in Monteverde.  Loved it!

Wow!!! What an incredible place the House in the Clouds is!! We absolutely loved our stay here for our honeymoon. From the moment we walked in with a lovely note and some gifts left for us we knew we have the best time. The views are to die for, we drank endless cups of coffee while sitting out watching the changing weather and birds. The stunning plants surrounding the house were so lovely. The house itself was super comfortable with everything you need to feel right at home. We really did have such a wonderful time! I would highly recommend to anyone wanting an incredible view while being close to Santa Elena!! Oh and the cow paintings are so cute!! Thank you so much :)

This house has the best view I've had of the stay, and one of the best in my life. The house is not large but the living space is well furnished and you instantly feel good and at peace there. It was immaculately clean. The garden layout adds to the splendor of the site. We enjoyed the proximity for excursions (curi cancha and el tigre) while staying outside the city as such. Finally, a responsive, available, impeccable host. You want to stay here!

Cette maison a la plus belle vue que j’ai eu du séjour, et une des plus belle de ma vie. La maison n’est pas grande mais l’espace de vie est bien aménagé et on s’y sent instantanément bien et apaisé. Elle était d’une propreté immaculée. L’aménagement du jardin ajoute à la splendeur du site. Nous avons apprécié la proximité pour les excursions (curi cancha et el tigre) tout en demeurant à l’extérieur de la ville comme tel. Finalement, un hôte réactif, disponible, impeccable. Our family fell in love with this property were really sad that we only were able to spend 1 night there with our itinerary. It was a wonderful space, very welcoming and warm. It is not a huge space but there is room for everything and the deck adds incredible space with a view that is worth its weight in gold. Luis was extremely helpful and his communication was fantastic. The roads to the house do not require 4x4 if you are a savvy driver but can be a little tricky in weather but its totally worth it. If we return to Costa Rica, we will make sure that Luis' property is built in to our trip for a longer stay.

This place was just amazing!!! Never had such a beautiful view of mountains like this!! We visited the dairy farm, met a friend of the owner for a night tour in town, and witnessed beautiful sunsets. I would highly recommend it!

What an incredible place to stay! We loved the view and the peaceful private land. It’s remote, but that’s definitely part of the appeal. The space was very comfortable and we loved adding garden fresh herbs to our dinner and sitting out on the porch. If we could have stayed a week instead of just one night, we would have!

The only downside are the difficult roads in the area, everything else was top.

Wow, this stay was pure magic!! Quite possibly the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in, it was really that incredible. The location was great, only a 20 min drive from Santa Elena and even closer than that to many of the tours and activities we had planned for Monteverde. It was also perfectly private, serene, and quiet, up in the clouds as the name suggests with breathtaking views. The house itself is very nicely built and decorated; the cabin vibes are impeccable inside and out. What made it even better was the massive and perfectly executed garden complete with herbs, flowers, a hummingbird feeder, and a beautiful handmade outdoor table/gazebo area. There are even beautiful little walking trails behind the cabin through the woods! And to top it all off on Christmas Eve our hosts personally dropped off some homemade tamal, a traditional Christmas dish, which were absolutely delicious and such a kind gesture which made us feel so welcome. Incredible people and great place to stay!!

Alberto's home is in a unique location overlooking the rainforests and the Pacific Ocean. With Alberto, communication was super easy, after a problem with the solar systems, he was on site within 5 minutes of calling and resolved the problem. He also gave us extensive tips for the area. The "Cabaña" itself is very well-equipped, unique in design and at the same time very high quality. Apart from the beautiful view over the wide rain forests, the garden is very lovingly designed and maintained with herbs and tropical plants. All in all, this Airbnb is highly recommended, for relaxing and unwinding just the right thing. Attention - four-wheel drive is definitely necessary for the driveway to the cabin.

Die Unterkunft von Alberto befindet sich in einer einzigartigen Lage mit Blick über die Regenwälder und auf den Pazifik. Mit Alberto war die Kommunikation super easy, nach einem Problem mit den Solaranlagen war er innerhalb von 5min nach Anruf vor Ort und hat das Problem gelöst. Außerdem hat er uns ausgiebige Tips für die Umgebung gegeben. Die „Cabaña“ selber ist sehr gut ausgestattet, vom Design her einzigartig und gleichzeitig sehr hochwertig. Abgesehen vom schönen Blick über die weiten Regenwälder ist der Garten außenherum sehr liebevoll gestaltet und gepflegt mit Kräutern und tropischen Gewächsen. What a beautiful location for an air B&B. Really a house in the clouds with the icing on the cake; a beautiful sunset behind the woods in the ocean. The Hosts are doing everything they can to make your stay a top experience. Highly recommended.

Don Luis and Doña Miriam were such wonderful hosts! Their whole family helped us feel welcome and they were very responsive to any questions we had. We especially enjoyed spending time with Don Luis and Doña Miriam exploring the farm, seeing the jungle, and enjoying the cheese, milk and yogurt from their cows. We chose this Airbnb because we wanted to be close to the hanging bridges and waterfall hikes and it was much more convenient than trying to drive up the whole mountain for one activity the morning of. I do recommend a 4-wheel-drive car, especially if you go in the rainy season. But it was easy to find and has a very convenient car pad right next to the house. We enjoyed our time and greatly recommend staying here. We felt like part of the family and it was so nice to feel right at home. We hope to visit again soon!

We had the best experience staying at Don Luis’s place. The view was breathtaking - we were truly above the clouds. The garden was landscaped with beautiful flowers and greenery. The home was super clean and equipped with everything we needed including rice cooker, blender, and coffee machine. The entire place was a piece of heaven. Totally recommended. The road could be bumpy at some places like, so make sure you have a appropriate car.

Don Luis and his family have built this fantastic wooden house with a lot of love and craftsmanship. We were allowed to be the first guests,were warmly welcomed and our expectations were exceeded. As Mother's Day was, I got a gift basket with delicious chocolate, coffee and a self-painted cup. Don Luis and his son-in-law Samuel took good care of us all around with a pleasant way. We received super good recommendations on restaurants and great activities. Possibility to buy fresh products from the family farm. The yogurt was heavenly delicious. They also offer hopefuls. From both super comfortable beds, you have a fantastic view over the mountains and actually feel above the clouds and absolutely private. The lovingly landscaped garden invites you to linger under hummingbirds. An absolutely recommended Airbnb!

Don Luis und seine Familie haben mit viel Liebe und Handarbeit dieses traumhafte Holzhaus gebaut. Wir dürften die ersten Gäste sein,wurden herzlich empfangen und unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen.Da Muttertag war,bekam ich einen Geschenkkorb mit leckerer Schockolade, Kaffee und einer selbstbemahlten Tasse geschenkt. Don Luis und sein Schwiegersohn Samuel haben sich rundum gut mit einer angenehmen Art um uns gekümmert. Wir erhielten super gute Empfehlungen zu Restaurants und tollen Aktivitäten. Es besteht die Möglichkeit frische Produkte vom Hof der Familie zu kaufen. Der Joghurt war himmlisch lecker. Sie bieten auch Hofführungen an. Von beiden super bequemen Betten hat man einen phantastischem Ausblick über die Berge und fühlt sich tatsächlich über den Wolken und absolut privat. Der liebevoll angelegte Garten lädt zum Verweilen unter Kolibris ein. Eine absolut zu empfehlendes Airbnb!
