The Space
This enchanting jungle home resembles a fairy tale castle, featuring a private waterfall, WiFi, an open floor plan, a pool, trampoline, basketball hoop, and pool table. It offers a tropical retreat overlooking Samara Bay with comfortable beds, a private pool, and a creek with a waterfall active from May to December. The property is stocked with amenities, games, and toys for children, making it ideal for a family beach vacation.
Set on a 2.25-acre gated estate, the house is just a 10-minute drive from Samara and Carrillo beaches, as well as nearby shopping and dining options. The local wellness community includes yoga, massages, and healing services.
The home’s design feels like a storybook come to life, with whimsical mermaid-inspired décor, a grand spiral staircase, and abundant natural stone elements. The gated oasis is surrounded by jungle, providing complete privacy and ocean views. A private cement path leads down to your own waterfall.
On the first floor, you’ll find a large wraparound porch with multiple lounge areas, hammocks, and two rocking chairs overlooking the pool. This level includes two guest bedrooms and the main bathroom, along with shared living spaces, a dining area, a kitchen equipped with an oven and dishwasher, and a laundry room with a washer and dryer.
One guest bedroom has a king bed, while the children’s room contains two single beds with trundle beds underneath, totaling four twin beds. This room is filled with toys and books to keep kids entertained.
Upstairs, the master suite loft features a bathroom with large glass doors offering ocean views and an oversized bathtub—a rare luxury in Costa Rica. The loft-style bedroom is separated from the lower floor by large blackout velvet curtains for privacy. All bedrooms have air conditioning and blackout curtains to ensure restful, quiet sleep.
The third-floor rooftop rancho provides spectacular views of the stars and Isla la Chora in Samara Bay. This space includes a meditation area and comfortable seating, perfect for birdwatching and enjoying the fresh ocean breeze from the mountaintop.
Guest Access
Guests have full access to the entire 2.25-acre private gated property during their stay. A private creek with a waterfall is accessible via 147 cement steps down from the left side of the driveway. The walkway is paved and features cords for balance and safety.
There is a large, flat driveway with parking space for up to four cars. Entertainment options include pool floats, games, and a closet stocked with children’s toys, books, and art supplies to keep little ones happily occupied.
Other Things to Note
A five-year-old black male cat named Rainbow lives on the property full-time. He is an indoor/outdoor cat who spends his days sleeping and his nights exploring and hunting bugs outside. Rainbow is very friendly with all guests, including small children. He was rescued as a kitten and became close friends with the host’s young daughter.
Guests are kindly asked to assist with his food, water, and litter during their stay. In return, Rainbow offers plenty of affectionate snuggles. He is happiest outside but will need to come indoors for meals to avoid ants invading his food.

We spent 5 weeks at Fairytale House from the end of February through March. It was the perfect place for us to enjoy all of Samara and the beautiful Pacific coast of Costa Rica, close enough to town and the beach yet totally private and peaceful with beautiful views of the jungle and the ocean. The house was huge and perfect for our grandson and his parents who joined us for part of the stay. Very well equipped for children and adults alike. We did a lot of cooking in, and the huge kitchen was well equipped and a real bonus. We spent many hours on the veranda, enjoying the constant sea breeze and watching the howler monkeys...they visited every morning and evening! The pool was clean and refreshing and the waterfall feature is fab! Chelsea and Jay were super responsive and any small issues we had were quickly resolved. Rainbow Kitty is super sweet and friendly and we enjoyed his company. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, it was heaven on earth!

The fairytale house was truly amazing! Our family of four had an excellent time in Samara with this as our home base. The amenities and views can’t be beat. The beds are also extremely comfortable! We can’t wait to come back!! My kiddos already miss Rainbow Kitty so much.

Our family (3 kids) had a wonderful stay at Chelsea’s home, or Casa Cascada. The spaces were comfortable & the property was serene & quiet. We particularly enjoyed the pool w. the waterfall & the multiple spaces for lounging. Location is less than 15 minutes on a dirt road into town & from gorgeous beaches. When we weren’t eating out at one of Sámara’s several delicious restaurants, we prepared small meals at the house in its well appointed kitchen. Location worked particularly well for us because we wanted a peaceful atmosphere within a short distance from downtown. Casa Casado is a good value that lives up to the photos in the posting. The pool table is no longer there, & the concrete path to the creek has been washed out by a storm. The owner kindly apologized that the description had not been updated & provided a small reimbursement for the trouble. Rainbow kitty was adorable & easy to care for. Also, the neighbor’s two dogs visit the house frequently, but we enjoyed their company.

Amazing home! It was perfect for our family of 5. My kids loved the pool, basketball hoop, trampoline, and all the toys. They loved it so much that my youngest asked daily if we could live there. Everything was clean and comfortable. Thank you.

Fairytale house was an amazing house! The views were amazing. Loved how peaceful the home was surrounded by the birds and jungle. The last day we were there the houler monkeys were right beside the house. So cool! Girls loved the pool and the animals. Just a short drive to town. Lots to do in town. Great food, excellent coffee, great beaches. Will be back!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chelsea and Jay's home! The location is unbeatable—just a short drive to beautiful beaches, shops, and great restaurants, yet tucked away on a quiet street that feels peaceful and secure. The house itself was spotless and thoughtfully maintained, with all the amenities you could want for a relaxing getaway. We especially loved the refreshing pool and the lush garden, which made it easy to unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings. The addition of having kids toys on hand made it great for my family of five. Chelsea and Jay were incredibly responsive and attentive, making sure everything was perfect from the moment we booked until our departure. It’s clear they care deeply about their guests’ experience. Chelsea was super easy to communicate with and she had wonderful suggestions/ responses to my many questions. The house is magical! Felt like we were in a castle! The beds were so comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and the towels and bed linens were soft and fluffy. We had howler monkeys around every morning and some friendly neighborhood dogs stopped by for attention. All in all it was an amazing stay at Chelsea's place!

One of the best Airbnb’s I have ever stayed in. The house was impeccably clean and stocked with everything we needed. Chelsea was very helpful, quick to respond and brought us local cinnamon rolls. Rainbow the cat was so sweet and cuddly. 10/10 recommend.
