Casa Atrevida is an architect-designed house with a contemporary look. It is both in the heart of the jungle and on a beautiful almost deserted beach. It offers five bedrooms (each with bathroom), an open living room, a large kitchen / dining room, a hanging garden and a pool. To make the most of this privileged environment, a team offers hotel services (private chef, security, concierge, daily cleaning...) The space 5 ROOMS IN THE HEART OF THE JUNGLE AND ON THE BEACH The house is composed of 5 rooms. Its capacity is for a maximum of 10 people. Each room has its own dressing room and private bathroom. All the rooms are beautifully decorated and have a small desk or a dressing table. The 4 rooms located on the first floor are identical and open on a garden terrace and the top of the trees which border the house. Two rooms have two single beds, the other two have a double bed. Fully mosquito-screened, they allow the occupants to enjoy the incredible wildlife at all times. The fifth bedroom on the first floor is a luxurious suite. Equipped with a king size bed, a large bathroom and a small desk, the room is open to the outside world so that the view of nature is not lost. All rooms are equipped with a ceiling fan. The kitchen is fully equipped. The kitchen/dining/living room area is totally sheltered and open to the outside, allowing you to enjoy the lush nature at any time. Very open to the outside, the house allows a permanent contact with the fauna and flora. The living room is surrounded by a tropical garden. Each room has a fantastic view of the surrounding nature. HOTEL SERVICES AT YOUR DISPOSAL To make the most of this privileged environment, a team offers you hotel-like services. - A private chef is at your service to prepare and serve you breakfast, lunch and dinner. We can do the grocery shopping for you (you will reimburse us afterwards). - The property is guarded 7/7 and 24/24 - Cleaning is done every day. - A concierge is at your disposal to answer your questions, organize your activities, transportation... All these services are included in the rental price. A UNIQUE ARCHITECTURE The house is a modern tropical style eco-construction with a unique architecture. It was designed to integrate perfectly with its natural environment. It was built with respect for the environment (integration, respect for the forest, solar energy, innovative water treatment system, eco-responsible materials...) The architect Luz de Piedra received the National Architecture Award "Bienal 2012" for this construction. It has been the subject of several publications. AN EXCEPTIONAL ENVIRONMENT Casa Atrevida is located in the best preserved and most fascinating region of Costa Rica, described by the National Geographic as "the most biologically intense place on the planet" with 2.5% of the world's biodiversity. Located in a National Refuge (Refugio national de vida silvestre Platanares Preciosa), you will enjoy an unspoiled wilderness, next to a beautiful deserted beach. The house is only 6 km from Puerto Jimenez which has all the services of a small town: airport, hospital, supermarkets, gas station, banks, restaurants... MANY ACTIVITIES ON SITE AND NEARBY The unique location of Casa Atrevida allows you to discover, on the spot, the extraordinary natural treasures of the Osa Peninsula. Numerous activities are possible from or near the house (boat tours on the gulf starting from the beach in front of the house, kayaking in the mangrove behind the house, hiking, wildlife observation, swimming on the beach, various activities...). We arrived to the house halfway through our trip. My 7 adult kids were delighted and I got so many “mom you killed it!”s. I wish I could take the credit for this amazing place. Everything about the open concept house, the gardens/jungle surrounding us, and the delightful people on the property that made sure we were taken care of and ate to our fill! Having a chef was the icing on the literal cake. Chon allowed us to experience all kinds of Costa Rican cuisine, including fresh juices and desserts! We had so much more free time to enjoy the peninsula since we weren’t continually having to feed the 9 of us. Pascal is a great resource for any tours or info that you need to know about the area. The beds were comfortable and the area felt incredibly safe as it’s not in the cluster of tourism. We schemed on how to stay longer, we were sad to leave and definitely want to one day return.

Stay at Casa Atrevida! It is absolutely one of a kind. It’s definitely glamping (the showers don’t really get hot, you are completely in the jungle) but the people, the monkeys, the beach, the food, all amazing and worth the drive to get there. We stayed here over Christmas with our big family of 9 (2 grandmas, 5 adults, 2 teens) and had the trip of a lifetime. We released baby turtles on the beach on Christmas morning, we took a snorkeling excursion into the tropical fjord, we saw squirrel monkeys and howler monkeys, macaws and toucans all from the house. We swam with bioluminescence (take a left out of the driveway and drive or walk down the road 1km to the resort and swim there at night). Pascal helped us out everyday with activities that were going on and sent us a drop pin to a sloth in a tree! Chon’s food was fantastic. We just gave him cash and said we’d like typical Costa Rican fare and we have 2 vegetarians and he did the rest. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Pura vida!

Casa Atrevida is a magical jungle house that is, in essence, luxe glamping. We loved the unique immersion in nature and deep sense of place. First, Chef Chon! Every meal was generous and delicious, and not doing the dishes, priceless. Carlos meticulously cares for security and upkeep, and his sweet dog, Drago, was our best friend. Pascal was helpful and responsive. Without even leaving the yard, we met howler and squirrel monkeys, macaws, chacalacas, fruit bats, opossums and more. A boat trip with captain David yielded leaping dolphins and their bellyflopping babies. Don’t miss: -lowkey Cahui Beach Club for chaises and gin and tonics -bioluminescence at the beach -turtle baby release with Manuel -beach sunrises with Drago To know: -rent a vehicle, ensure high clearance -groceries are $$ -showers are cold -ceiling fans for room cooling -100% humidity = everything damp at all times -wear bug repellent on the beach, trust us We hope to return to this deeply memorable place! 🩷

You get exactly what is described in the listing. It is ALL open air. The bedrooms are clean and have bug screens and fans. You will be at one with nature (all the wildlife is outside your windows). There is no AC so expect heat and humidity. There is no hot water in the showers, so they’re a bit brisk. Chon the chef makes incredible dishes, you will eat very well. The walk to the beach is quick and easy, and the scenery is breathtaking (think deserted island private). The drive is short mileage wise but long in duration. Rent a vehicle with high clearance, the potholes are deep and numerous. Overall a great experience, but more of a camping experience then a resort experience.

If you’re looking for a 5 star resort it’s not for you It’s more like camping in a beautiful house surrounded by wildlife and basically a private beach Staff was wonderful Chon the chef was amazing. A must !! Think we ate every meal there The road in is long and bad A good 20 minutes one way so plan your trips into town accordingly

I cannot express what a wonderful experience we had at Casa Atrevida. Somehow the home was even more beautiful in person. Pascal arranged any activity we wanted. The location is secluded and peaceful. The caretaker Carlos was so kind and since this was our first trip to Costa Rica, it was very comforting for us to have him there if we needed anything. The chef Chon cooked amazing meals and was very accommodating. The housekeeper Jackie kept everything spotless. The beach is amazing and so secluded (the beach is at the end of the driveway). We only saw a few people over our 6 day stay. We did several great nature tours in the area but saw more animals at the house than anywhere. We could not have asked for a more amazing stay. The sunrises on the beach, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, squirrel monkeys, capuchins and countless birds and flowers. For us Casa Atrevida truly was paradise.
