Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the soothing sounds of the jungle. The property is nestled within primary rainforest, featuring a year-round creek flowing through the grounds. Casa Serena boasts stunning ocean views, an infinity pool, and a full range of modern amenities.
The home provides two distinct outdoor environments:

Front of the Home:
Enjoy breathtaking ocean vistas framed by the surrounding jungle, stretching all the way to Manuel Antonio. This area receives full afternoon sun, making the infinity pool an ideal spot to relax. Comfortable, spacious modern lounge chairs invite you to savor your morning coffee or tea while taking in the scenery. The sunsets here are spectacular nearly year-round, with vibrant colors illuminating the jungle, towering palms, and the Pacific Ocean. It’s the perfect setting to unwind with your favorite cocktail or glass of wine. -
Rear of the Home:
Experience a peaceful retreat surrounded by dense primary rainforest, accompanied only by the sounds of the creek and tropical birds overhead. A beautiful yoga deck sits beside the creek under a majestic tree, providing an ideal space for yoga or meditation. Nearby, an outdoor soaking tub allows you to relax beneath the jungle canopy—especially magical in the evening under the stars and moonlight. This area also includes a spacious dining and barbecue zone, perfect for escaping the afternoon heat or enjoying a quiet moment with a book.
The house itself is a modern three-bedroom residence furnished with high-end custom pieces, luxury memory foam mattresses, premium bedding, and original artwork. The mattresses and linens have been carefully chosen to ensure a restful night’s sleep. Furniture, linens, and art were selected to support sustainable, family-run, and environmentally conscious businesses.
Each bedroom offers a unique theme and comes with its own air conditioning unit. Two bedrooms have private bathrooms, while the third shares the main bathroom. The Jungle Room’s master bath features glass walls overlooking the jungle and creek. Bathrooms are stocked with towels, body soap, and a hairdryer.
The third bedroom, although attached to the home, has a separate entrance, providing complete privacy from the main living areas. All rooms include ample storage to help you settle in comfortably.
The main living area is also air-conditioned and furnished for maximum comfort and relaxation. Reliable internet access allows you to stream your favorite shows on Netflix or participate in virtual meetings with ease.
Casa Serena accommodates up to six guests and is ideal for adults or families with older children. It is not suitable for small children.
Wildlife
At Casa Serena, you will encounter a rich variety of wildlife, including resident sloths that often linger nearby. The property is also frequented by tropical birds and butterflies, with regular visits from toucans, crested guans, hummingbirds, and blue morpho butterflies. Occasionally, you may spot a group of white-faced capuchin monkeys.
Location and Access
The home is located in a peaceful neighborhood near Dominical in the Puntarenas province of Costa Rica. Guests typically fly into San José and then either drive approximately three hours or take a 30-minute flight to Quepos. From Quepos airport, Casa Serena is about a 40-minute drive.
Situated roughly 1,000 feet above sea level, the property benefits from stunning views, refreshing breezes, and minimal mosquito presence. Please note that a 4x4 vehicle is required to access the home, and expect a seven-minute drive uphill to reach the property.

Casa Serena exceeded every expectation. This place is absolutely incredible and truly one of a kind. The home itself is beautifully designed. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls bring the outside in, the furniture is high quality and comfortable, and every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. The ocean views from the back of the house are jaw-dropping, especially in the evening at sunset. The location in the Puntarenas rainforest is spectacular. Yes, you'll need a 4x4 to get up the hill, but it is absolutely worth it. The privacy and tranquility you get in return are priceless. If you are looking for a luxury escape that genuinely connects you with nature, look no further. We will be back!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica, and it couldn't have been better. Julie and Josue were amazing to work with, and their response time was nearly immediate. The house was perfection and all recommendations for bookings and local to-dos was spot on. Everything was as described or better. The hospitality, attention to detail, and little extra above-and-beyond thoughtfulness was truly outstanding.

Casa Serena is one of the most beautiful homes we have ever stayed in. It looks wonderful in the pictures but somehow even better in person. The location is very quiet and peaceful. All you will hear is the abundance of nature! We didn’t leave, and when it was time to leave we didn’t want to! The home and the grounds are pristine! We felt right at home as soon as we entered! Julie is the greatest of hosts and started communication all we needed even before the trip started. Josue’ is a great property manager and was helpful in many ways including guiding us and a few others up the mountain! 4x4 is necessary as everyone else has mentioned! What a great pair!! Do not hesitate to book Casa Serena for a great tranquil getaway!!

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful mountain home in Costa Rica. The ocean views were absolutely breathtaking, and the sunsets each evening felt like something out of a postcard. The home was very well equipped with everything we needed making our stay comfortable and relaxing. The kitchenware was beautiful. You can truly tell a lot of care has gone into the space. The host and property manager were both extremely helpful, responsive, and welcoming, which made the experience even better. This is a perfect place to unwind, enjoy nature, and take in the beauty of Costa Rica. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable getaway. 🌅🌴

This retreat in the Costa Rican forest mountains was a dream come true! We‘ve had a great stay in a real hide-away. If you‘re looking for a secluded retreat - in a pristine environment - that‘s your choice. Casa Serena is perfectly equipped. Communication with Host and property manager is proactive and in case support is needed, there‘ll be a response almost instanaeously. Casa Serena was recommended to us - and we are happy to recommend this unique place as well!

Casa Serena is unbelievably special, a once in a lifetime experience. The home is pristine, an architectural gem, cleverly designed for comfort throughout the day, and perfect for relaxing. Julie and Josue were thoughtful, communicative hosts and we felt incredibly well cared for, thanks to their preparation, advice, and clear directions. We also enjoyed treats thoughtfully left for us. The yoga platform and jungle environment with so many animals was really special. Danyasa Yoga, Chef Juan Pablo, and Gabriela Villegas massage were excellent recommendations.

Hands down, this was the most peaceful and zen Airbnb we’ve ever stayed at. The home had everything we needed, and Julie was an absolutely wonderful host—attentive, welcoming, and thoughtful. We especially loved relaxing by the pool, watching hummingbirds, toucans, and butterflies drift by, and soaking in the sounds of the rain in the evenings. It was pure magic. I truly hope I get the chance to return to Casa Serena someday!
