Jonas place was small but it felt spacious thanks to the thought out furnishings.  We loved how you could open up the big window to take in more of the breathtaking views.  The only drawback in these "villages" (not Jonas' fault) is the lack of vehicle accessibility.   You'll have to park at a nearby parking lot during your whole stay here.  Then haul all your luggage through quite a flight of stairs.  However, there's a lot of flexibility with check-in and check-out. They provide drinkable water for your stay... all in all great host and place.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful lakefront home in San Marcos La Laguna. The house was tastefully decorated, the grounds were gorgeous, and there were so many thoughtful amenities to enjoy. The lake view was stunning and made for a very relaxing stay. My only suggestions would be to soften the beds, as they were quite firm, and to trim back some of the bushes to open up the lake view even more. Overall, it was a lovely place that we would happily recommend!

This was perfect for everything we needed. You will be close to the lanchas to hop around other places. We felt very safe in our location and we enjoyed the food nearby. And of course we love the view!

The most beautiful place to stay on the lake! My sisters and I had a lovely few days here and couldn't recommend it more. Overall, we had a great stay and really enjoyed San Marcos.  We liked the house layout, and the location to the lake.  It was great being able to walk right out of the property and stroll along the lake.  As the reviews mentioned, there are definitely a lot of bugs that venture into the house.  We had more spiders and bugs than we could count, and 1 scorpion, but if you are okay with bugs, then it's not a big deal.  Personally, I found the beds to be a bit firm for my liking, but the pillows were great.  The kitchen was well stoked, and we ate several meals at home and enjoyed having a french press.  All the water on the property is filtered, so that was convenient.

Great space, excellent location and a perfectly equipped apartment, great complex, with paddleboards for rent, an ice bath and much more. We really enjoyed our stay.

A very peaceful place to stay. This house  is perfectly located, right on the lake and walkable to the main town and restaurants. The apartment was spacious and clean, and the additional amenities like paddle board rentals and gym were a plus. I would recommend!

The house was very nice and had a great view. The host was responsive, and there were several activity options available for an extra cost, including paddleboarding, the sauna, and the rock wall. The blender was also a great touch since we could buy fresh fruit from the markets and make fresh juice. My only complaint was the amount of bugs. I understand this is common in Guatemala, but there were large gaps under the doors and sliding doors that allowed cockroaches, spiders, and even small scorpions to get inside, even when we stored our food properly and kept things clean.

This place is beautiful! Right on the water’s edge, perfectly quiet at sunrise, and walkable to everything in town. Spotlessly clean, full kitchen, spacious bedrooms. The host was fast, warm, and full of great local recommendations. I’ll be back!

Felt right at home, love the vibes of the shared spaces and our surroundings! It does get loud early in the morning but that is San Marcos! Would stay again!

Such a beautiful space! Incredible lake access and Chris and Michelle were so wonderful and extremely responsive. The sunrise SUP was definitely a highlight of the stay!

Quick walk from the boat and close to everything. The directions to the house were excellent. The house was as described. We loved the yoga right next door and Chris, the person on site, was extremely friendly and helpful.

Pros: Very nice views, kitchen was very well equipped, you can use the gym for free, yoga classes are available next door, sauna and washing available for a fee Cons: sometimes loud at night, paper thin walls, so you can hear anything that people who walk by say (but it's not busy, so it was not a big deal). The biggest problem was that the apartment is not sealed well, there are big gaps between doors and windows and the floor, so many insects come at night, we had nightly big spider visits and 3 scorpions (one of them fell from the ceiling next to us). There's a nice garden in front of the apartment but nothing to sit on. The beds were not very comfy.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The property itself is beautiful and truly has so much to offer—it felt peaceful, picturesque, and incredibly relaxing the entire time. It was the perfect balance of having our own private space while still being close to everything around us. The property managers were amazing—so attentive, responsive, and always willing to help with anything we needed, which made the experience even better. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting. If we come back to San Marcos, we will definitely be staying here again!

House was beautiful and very close to the dock and lake.  Jonas was amazing and let us keep our luggage in his property until our next place opened up.  Absolutely a great option.  Could not recommend more.

One of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed at. The view of the lake and the morning sun were amazing. The host, Chris, was very friendly and helped us resolve several issues we had. I definitely recommend it.

Stayed at Jonas for two nights, very beautiful space and wonderful location right on the lake. He allowed us to leave our luggage early which is always very nice. Easy communication with him and nice restaurant recommendations. Other reviews were not kidding with the bugs- you must be VERY okay with them everywhere. We had many spiders, lots of gnats, and even a friendly centipede in the morning. Unfortunately the worst part is the construction directly next door- it is VERY loud from 8am to 8pm but the noise is quiet during the other time for a restful sleep. Jonas provides a lot of other unique amenities for an additional price that we did not partake in but seem very fun!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful place. Everything was clean, we had our own garden, direct access to the lake, and lots of restaurants, etc., nearby. We also used the laundry service and the fitness area and were very satisfied with them. We would come back anytime!

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in dieser schönen Unterkunft. Es war alles sauber, wir hatten unseren eigenen Garten, direkten Zugang zum See und viele Restaurants etc im Nahbereich. Wir haben außerdem den Wäscheservice und den Trainingsbereich in Anspruch genommen und waren damit sehr zufrieden. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Review for Jonas Lake Atitlan house. We had a lovely stay at this lakefront house in Lake Atitlán! The location is fantastic — peaceful, scenic, and close to everything we wanted to explore. The house itself is very comfortable, with a beautiful living area that opens right up to the front yard, perfect for lounging and enjoying the view. We really appreciated that the water throughout the home was purified, so we could drink straight from the tap (plus there was an extra filtered water container). The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and overall the home was nicely set up for a relaxing stay. The only issue we ran into was the lack of hot water during our visit, but the hosts were responsive and worked on addressing it quickly. Despite that, we would absolutely recommend this property and would happily stay again!

Great spot! Wish we could have stayed longer but we will hopefully return.

Gorgeous location with comfortable beds :) shower was sometimes a little tricky temperature-wise but overall a beautiful location close to the lake. We had a lot of fun taking the SUPs and the boulder gym was really cool

Jonas’s place was fantastic. Beautiful scenery of lake atitlan and the mountains, if you’re looking for a quick getaway this is the spot.

Jonas' home was clean and the views were exceptional. If you have a lot of luggage it is a bit of a haul to get there. My favorite part was the windows we could open for fresh air and beautiful views of the lake.

We had a nice stay at this Airbnb in San Marcos La Laguna. The place was comfortable and had a beautiful view during the day. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful stay with amazing views.

This place was absolutely a pleasure to stay at. It is a little tricky to see if you are arriving at night,  but Jonas was very quick to respond to our questions. The views and peace and quiet are absolutely worth it.

Everything was great and the place was super clean! The view onto the vucano was spectacular to watch the sunrise from the bed!

The place is set up that you can watch the sunrise/sunset right from your bedroom! The place was fantastic and super accessible for the boats to access other towns. It gave us all the space to unwind and enjoy the incredible views of Lake Atitlan!! The mornings really immerse you in the environment and you can hear the most amazing nature, but that can also mean it's noisy if you're one who likes to sleep in. There was construction going on when we were there, it was okay for me because I was usually up before 8 and it didn't bother me. We were warned before we went there so I can't take that away from them, but if you don't like bugs this may not be the place for you. The really large windows and being right next to the lake definitely allows a lot of creepy crawlers in that we weren't quite prepared for, coming from Canada!

The place was amazing! The location is perfect—just a short walk from the main dock, which makes getting around so easy. There are great restaurants nearby with amazing food if you don’t feel like cooking, and the space itself is perfect for hanging out if you want a cozy night in. The staff on site were incredibly friendly and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again!

The cabin is very nice, with a beautiful view and access to the pier and lake super close. Chris was attentive to our messages and requests the whole time. Keep in mind that the entrance is steep (one part with steps) and it is a little difficult to get all the things down from the main street to the house. There is no parking but we were recommended one nearby and it was safe.

La cabaña muy linda, con vista preciosa y el acceso al muelle y lago súper cerca. Chris estuvo atento a nuestros mensajes y solicitudes durante todo el tiempo. Tomar en cuenta que la entrada es empinada (una parte con gradas) y complica un poco bajar todas las cosas de la calle principal hasta la casa. No hay parqueo pero nos recomendaron uno cerca y estuvo seguro.
