Dawn’s house is beautifully located and is beautifully designed. We rented a decent car and really did not find the road up problematic at all. Jairo met us to guide us up which was really great. It is really close to all the amenities in town but not in the town -so it is really extremely peaceful, beautiful and private. We unfortunately contracted Dengue before getting to Uvita and so all of our time there was spent being pretty unwell and eventually hospitalized. Because of this we really felt that we missed out on enjoying the house and the beautiful location the restaurants the beaches etc to the fullest. Dawn was a lovely hostess who provided all the needed information and was extremely helpful, proactive and responsive. Thank you for having us!

Dawn's place is brilliant -- the most well-designed AirBnB I've ever stayed in and the most incredible location. The road up is not for the faint-hearted, but you realize soon it is worth the effort. The house is even better than the photos and the view and ambience is special. We could have spent the whole week never leaving the balcony and pool and it would have been a great trip. We woke in the morning to howler monkeys and birdsong and saw toucans, macaws, white-faced monkeys, coati, and scores of other birds while watching the sunset out over the ocean in the distance. Dawn was proactive and responsive with communication and arranged to help with anything we needed during the trip. I can't recommend it enough.

We've been to Costa Rica several times and have stayed at incredible places but this house takes the cake. The views are stunning. The road up to the house is a little tricky, and you absolutely need 4x4, but once you get the hang of it, it is great! Dawn was such a great host, very responsive, and I felt like her home was our home. Uvita is a great little town as well. Lots of great restaurants, two grocery stores, a great bakery at the bottom of the hill and fantastic sushi at the bottom of the hill as well. We look forward to visiting again. Oh little side note, we did experience blackouts every single night but being that we have been to Costa Rica before we came prepared with a battery operated light. It was a life saver as the black outs scared our kids. Don't let that deter you from staying though, they have happened at every location we have stayed at.

What a true jungle experience in the rainforest with a beautiful hike down to the waterfalls. This house offers EVERYTHING you could ask for 👍🏻 the host Dawn and the caretakers of the property were so helpful and nearby if you ever needed anything. We felt so at home here at this house and wouldn’t hesitate a second to book it ❤️ can’t wait to go back again 🥰 Don’t know how Some other reviewers said 20 mins to get to the house from the street But it only took about 5 mins to go up and down. Wasn’t bad at all but you do need a 4x4 suv. Thanks again Dawn and Simon❤️

We had the best time in this house. 4x4 car required, we had to rent a smaller car than we had wanted but it was worth it to stay in this secluded house. The road is steep and was a little nerve wracking the first time we drove up to the house on a dark, rainy night. But we got used to it and thought the road added to the adventure. The house is modern and cool, we loved the aesthetic and the space. No tv in the house, which is mostly great to get unplugged, but since it got dark so early, we would have enjoyed watching a movie together as a family. But there were some card games there that we had fun playing together. We loved feeling completely alone in the jungle! Dawn and the property manager Jairo were very attentive and helpful and always responded to our questions quickly.

Wow! What a beautiful house with the most stunning view. Loved the local area too. Perfectly clean, great communication and super easy. Follow Dawn's instructions about getting the right car - the drive up to the property is very steep and needs a 4x4 - we rented a Toyota Rav4 4WD and it was still a little under powered for the road. But, the drive up does not take long and you are rewarded with a picture-perfect panorama. We'd stay here again!

We had a great time at MER. Dawn was very clear and communicative, check in was easy with Jairo’s help. Any questions were quickly answered. The house is set in the rainforest and we regularly saw toucans, morpho butterflies and heard howler monkeys. The nature sounds of insects and frogs are so prominent in the evenings you can tell you are in a healthy eco system! The bunk room is great fun for kids and there are some games and puzzles in the living area :) being up on the hill is great for cooling breezes and the driveway is very steep so you 100% need a 4x4 to enter and exit the property. There was a lengthy power cut while we were there (nothing to do with MER, due to a storm) so I’d recommend a power bank to charge phones etc when travelling CR as it’s a problem we’ve encountered whilst travelling all over the country.

Highly recommended. What an amazing view and very clean home with all the amenities you need. We loved the mountain breeze and the how quiet and private it was. Private waterfall, swimming pool and comfy beds. Great communication with Dawn and Jairo. No kidding though…you need a 4wd.
