The Space
Perched atop a hill within an exclusive gated community, Mar Vista Chateau offers over 10,000 square feet of living space. The property includes a large three-story main house and a separate guesthouse, accommodating up to 14 guests comfortably.
Mar Vista Chateau features six suites in total. On the upper floor of the main house, there are three master bedroom suites, each elegantly furnished with king-sized beds, walk-in closets, and ensuite bathrooms. Every master suite opens onto spacious balconies that provide breathtaking ocean views.
The lower floor of the main house includes a poolside suite with two queen-sized beds and an ensuite bathroom. This suite opens onto a generous deck featuring a blue infinity pool, a jacuzzi soak tub, a BBQ area, and comfortable sun loungers. The BBQ area is equipped with a wet bar, a gas grill, and an outdoor dining table, perfect for enjoying meals poolside while taking in the stunning scenery.
The guesthouse contains two garden-view suites—one with a queen-sized bed and the other with two queen-sized beds. It also has a living room with a foldout sofa bed. The guesthouse shares one full bathroom between the two suites and has an additional half bathroom in the living room.
The middle floor of the main house houses a gourmet kitchen with black granite countertops, a convection oven, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, glassware, flatware, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Adjacent to the kitchen is a spacious dining room with a table seating 12 guests. Private chefs can be arranged upon request to prepare local dishes either in the kitchen or poolside.
The living area includes a projector with access to popular streaming services such as Netflix and Apple TV+, allowing guests to enjoy their favorite movies. Additional amenities include a billiard room and a powder room.
Location
The nearest beach, Playa Hermosa, is just a 5-minute drive from the chateau. It offers calm waters ideal for swimming and various water activities, along with several beachside dining options.
Liberia International Airport is approximately 25 minutes away by car. Private transportation can be arranged upon request.

Spectacular views from this spacious six bedroom villa that was loved by our party of twelve. Kitchen well stocked and pool table especially appreciated. Great indoor and outdoor seating for large groups. Having groceries delivered before we arrived and having an in house chef for one meal was especially convenient. Great location for nearby beaches and close to the international airport in Liberia. We enjoyed the pool and comfortable lounge chairs but could not get the hot tub temperature above warm. The decking boards are in need of repair in certain areas. The plumbing and electricity failed on New Year's Eve but were attended to in a timely manner. Overall we had a great time at our 60th wedding anniversary family reunion. I would definitely recommend this house for large groups.

The house has tremendous potential but could use some care and updating. The space is fantastic with plenty of room for a large party to spread out. We loved the location in Playa Hermosa as it is removed from any bustle but convenient enough to find anything you want, and the support team was fantastic with both local suggestions and assistance with the house. Unfortunately, we needed consistent help from the support staff for plumbing issues, and for such a beautiful place, there were far too many broken or partially working items. The home really could be stunning, and we enjoyed our time there, but it does need some investment as it seems like guests have been very hard on it.

We had an absolutely wonderful week-long stay at Mar Vista! We went with a group of 12 friends and we were so comfortable in the house- there was enough space for the entire group, and every room felt private and comfortable. There were kids in our group and they loved swimming in the pool, and playing pool (billiards) too! Insider tip: bring flip flops for on the pool deck, it gets hot in the middle of the day. We didn’t use the large projector screen inside because we had perfect weather, but it would have been a great backup for rainy days. The house is conveniently located and we spent lots of time at Playa Hermosa, which is very laid back and has gentle water and great beach restaurants! We love Aquasport for group lunches- they have food for everyone and delicious drinks. Mar Vista was also a great jump off point for adventures! Our host suggested great hikes, surfing spots, jet skiing, and zip lining, all an easy drive from the house. We will most certainly be back!

Our stay at Chateau Mar Vista was by far the best air b&b experience we’ve had! The views are absolutely spectacular! It feels like you’re in a castle at the top of the hill! The place was spotless and inviting and the host was very responsive. The pool and amenities were all we needed for the perfect R&R vacation! We enjoyed working with the concierge to book experiences (highly recommend in-house massages and booking a private chef dinner at least once)! We would definitely stay here again and look forward to coming back!

Just finished a week stay with my wife, daughter and two set of grandparents. We all LOVED the space! This pictures are very accurate and the listing is exactly what you will get. The space is pristine and clean with tons of amenities (BBQ and laundry were a HUGE plus!) The location is fantastically private at almost the end of a mountain road with views for miles. The road to the unit can be a little daunting and a 4x4 is recommended. However during our stay crews were working on the road and I would expect improvements in the coming weeks/months. You are super close to multiple grocery stores with good selection (amazing selection if you go into Coco). There are three great beaches super close that we spent a lot of time at in the morning. Coco if you want busy with shops. The hosts even provided us with beach chairs, toys, and a cooler. Would recommend beach in the morning and then pool in the afternoon! Place was VERY safe and would definitely recommend.

The host was great, very responsive and super friendly! The property itself is incredible, the photos don’t do it justice - it’s a mansion! :) It’s so peaceful to sit out the back and look out over the stunning Costa Rica landscape! The pool and hot tub are amazing, and there’s so much to do in the area - quick drive to great restaurants, fishing and other activities… can’t wait to visit again!

Not many 6 bedroom options in this area, so we loved it for our group. Great view, extremely peaceful surroundings. Place matches description. Nearby beach is full of locals, not tourists. Will come again

This is the second time I stayed at Château Marvista and will definitely book it again. I absolutely love the house. I started each morning jumping in the pool before exploring what Guanacaste has to offer. The host is always responsive and has great recommendations.

Chateau Mar Vista is a fantastic stay, this is my second time there! It’s in a private community with a 24/7 guard at the gate at the bottom of the hill so feels very safe, and the drive up to the house, with its beautiful ocean views, is easy (just be sure to rent a SUV if you can). The house itself is fantastic, with AC units now in all the bedrooms and central air for the main spaces for comfort which was is all easy to use. The beaches of Hermosa, Coco, and Panama are all short drives away. This area seems to be really picking up steam with new restaurants and activities. Tyler and the Chateau team are highly responsive and happy to make recommendations. Definitely leverage them for making plans, whether that’s a fishing trip, ATVs, or whatever they have great guides they can hook you and your group up with. But just staying in the house, hanging in and around the awesome pool, and spending time with your group cooking or grilling food (there’s a grill by the pool) is great too.
