Beachfront Potrero: nice 7-Br villa, chef included

We stayed with 4 other couples and had an excellent experience!! Maria made the check in process so smooth; Tony was an outstanding concierge - friendly and responsive to our requests; and Rita the chef was the absolute gem of the house!! We would return in a heartbeat.

What a great vacation spot on the beach. Exactly as the photos show and Chef Rita was awesome!!! Great meals and plenty of leftovers for late night snacks.

Highly recommend this Airbnb. Best view in Potrero. We especially loved the restaurants/markets within walking distance, such as Hemmingway's and La Forketta. The property was extremely well-maintained. Cleaning service every other day and pool maintenance while we were there was an added touch that made the space feel top-notch for the entire stay. We spent the majority of our time outdoors — but loved the indoor shared spaces as well. Plenty of room for our large group of 13. So nice to have double washer/dryer setup and plenty of kitchen appliances to boot! Also, we absolutely loved the cook, Rita, that was set up for us by the host. Her food was to die for, especially the chicken with mushroom sauce, and her buttery fish (dorado) was the best fish I've ever eaten. We loved the gallo pinto and omelettes for breakfast. We were extremely happy with this location and the house itself. Do yourself a favor and book!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Casa Royal as a perfect place for a family vacation. Comfortably accommodated our parents & 3 siblings' families with 5 grandkids, where everyone had their own space with its 7 bedrooms, 4.5 baths & adjustable A/C per room. Backyard ocean views were spectacular, especially sunset from the upper deck patio, where we enjoyed the immense table that fit all 14 of us together for meals. Neighborhood & beach were quiet, with the morning waters especially calm for toddlers to play in the waves & the bay less busy for teens to try out paddle boarding & jet skis (Costa Rica Sailing Center is a rental spot a quick walk down the beach, next to Hemingway's which had bonfire & live music at night). Plenty of towels provided for the pool/beach. For additional outdoor activities, it's a short ride over to Las Catalinas, where we rented mountain bikes from Pura Vida Ride for the nearby trails which were very well kept/marked. Gems included with the Airbnb were Carlos who came by to clear out leaves from the pool, tend the garden in the mornings & cleaned the grill after we'd used it; Nancy who did an amazing job cleaning the house sparkling top to bottom (3 times, every other day of our visit), plus restocking toilet paper, liquid pump hand soap & reporting anything else we needed to the rental office, which in every case was responded to promptly with a handyman to fix whatever minor issues we noticed. Washer/dryer in the 2-car garage was super useful (bring/buy your own fave detergent, there's a MerKdo supermarket about a block away). For our babies, Tropical Homes helped us arrange airport transport with baby car seats, Tico Friends weekly rental for Pack n Play cribs & high chair so that we didn't have to schlep our own (they coordinated delivery & pick up to the house). Full gourmet kitchen was amazing, outfitted with all the dishes, glassware, pots/pans, utensil tools that you'll need if you want to cook. Fridge has an ice maker. Extra sink next to the dishwasher made clean-up a breeze (Cascade available under the sink & included) without getting in the way of the chef at the stove who had his own prep sink in the island. If you like craft beers, be sure to walk over to Cerveceria Independiente to try out what they've got on tap. If you're an animal lover, we had visiting colorful butterflies, songbirds, lizards, cows & pelicans in the backyard (yes, I said cows... they came right up to the backyard fence to nibble Carlos' beautiful flowers & palms!) Wifi & WhatsApp worked great for comm.

Éramos un grupo de 9 adultos y un niño de 1 año y alojamos durante una semana. La casa es muy cómoda, los dormitorios son grandes, tiene espacios comunes muy amplios, está muy bien equipada, todo funcionó a la perfección, y nuestras vacaciones fueron inolvidables. La ubicación es excelente, Playa Potrero colinda con la casa y nos bañamos muchísimo, tiene arena fina aunque oscura. A minutos se encuentran varias playas maravillosas de arenas blancas. Existen varios restaurantes, mercados, fruterías, pescaderías, y en general la atención de la gente es muy amable. La coordinación por parte de los anfitriones impecable.

My children, my grandchildren and I had a wonderful time at Britta’s home. It was located in a quiet neighborhood, right off the beach, within easy walking distance of restaurants and a grocery store. Perfect for our group of 14. We’re already talking about going back next year.
