Denice is a great host and has been helpful to us from the very beginning. The house is beautiful and spacious enough for a large group. I commend the kitchen equipment, the games, the washing machine, the neighborhood, and the drinking water. A nearby village offers basic groceries and a restaurant. One of the nearby establishments hosts famous electronic music parties - you have to take that into account over the weekend. Unfortunately, we missed the air conditioning (it wasn't in the description, so we knew it wouldn't be there, but it really would have been useful, because it was very hot and therefore the windows couldn't be open). Despite the fact that the house is on the water, the sea in the area is not attractive for swimming, and the nearest beach is accessible only by boat (too far for dogs), but boats are available.

Denice je skvela hostitelka a bola nam napomocna od sameho zaciatku. Dom je krasny a dost priestranny pre veľkú skupinu. Chvalim vybavenie kuchyne, hry aj pracku a susicku a pitnú vodu. Blizka dedinka ponuka základné potraviny a restauraciu. V jednom z blízkych  podnikov sa konaju preslavene party elektronickej hudby - s tym treba cez vikend pocitat. Zial nám chýbala klimatizácia (nebola v popise, cize sme vedeli, ze tam nebude, ale naozaj by sa bola hodila, kedze vela prsalo a tym padom nemohli byt okna dokoran). Napriek tomu, ze dom je na vode, more v tej oblasti nie je lákavé na kúpanie a najbližšia pláž je dostupná len loďou (pesi prilis daleko), lode si však dostupné.

Morgan and Denise were excellent hosts. The accommodation was very good. The place is very beautiful and matches the description and the photos. I would gladly stay again. Thank you !!

An unbeatable place to stay; you feel so close to the sea and so comfortable at the same time. The whole house is very well equipped; you can tell they thought of every detail. We would definitely come back.

The house over the water is magical. The island is very walkable and there are lovely restaurants and friendly people. It's incredible to be able to get a water taxi from the end of the dock to go to amazing sites. The hosts recommended a great boatman for a day of snorkeling and we had an amazing trip. The pool at the house really makes each day special given the heat in the islands. We loved our stay and wished we could have been here even longer!

I don't think you can find a better place in Bastimento. Perfect if you spend time in the house (games, great kitchen, wonderful deck easy to access). The water taxi leaves you on the door. We enjoyed. Had a few needs while there and had immediate response as well as solution.

I've delayed my review a few days to be more considerate of my thoughts about our recent one week stay. We had a few issues during our week at The House with the Blue Roof ... it can happen. One stand out positive for this stay however was the Hosts communication & responsiveness. Absolutely quick to resolve or attempt to resolve the issues we had. Outstanding hosts in that regard! What couldn't be resolved for us though are items I believe would've changed our decision to stay in the first place ... The water pump on the tanks right outside of the back bedroom is extremely loud, making this room difficult to achieve a peaceful sleep in. Top level room is also a sleeping challenge. Heat rises of course & the fans upstairs just didn't cut it in that space. Although the home itself was clean, the town & water around the home are absolutely not! Unfortunately this stay in Old Bank is our last.

We got to the place super easily, and check-in was completely hassle-free. Denice was very attentive and kept asking if everything was OK or if we needed anything. When we had a minor problem, someone was sent over to help right away – although, to be fair, the fault was actually ours 🫣. The rooms are nice and large, and the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need. Overall, we felt very comfortable and can definitely recommend the accommodation. Thanks for a great stay!

Wir sind super einfach zur Unterkunft gekommen und der Check-in verlief komplett reibungslos. Denice war sehr aufmerksam und hat immer wieder nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist oder ob wir etwas brauchen. Als wir ein kleines Problem hatten, wurde sofort jemand vorbeigeschickt, um zu helfen – wobei man fairerweise sagen muss, dass der Fehler eigentlich bei uns lag 🫣. Die Zimmer sind schön groß und die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet mit allem, was man braucht. Insgesamt haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt und können die Unterkunft definitiv weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt!

Very nice place, we didn't miss anything :-) Communication was easy and straightforward, kitchen was above average well equipped and in itself the place was just as great as described! Highly recommended!

Loved our stay at Denice’s Bastimentos place on the water! The host was very responsive whenever we reached out and the stay was a uniquely wonderful experience for our group of 5. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique stay on the water.

What a great space! The 4 couples all felt they had privacy but also great space to come together. The home had so many useful things, kitchen items, games, lots of seating, and a great view. The instructions and house manual were great, especially for a large group. Appreciated the house managers responsiveness and connection to get a birthday cake delivered. Local stores and restaurants were useful. Getting a water taxi was just as easy as the given instructions. A good time had by all!

We had an amazing time at Denice's place! The house is spacious and beautiful. It's got everything you need and the location is ideal. Bastimentos is such a beautiful island and the people are really nice! If we go back we will rent again no doubt!

Denise’s place in Bastimentos was perfect for our stay. The location is unbeatable, and the house was thoughtfully and generously stocked with everything we needed—from cooking utensils to snorkeling gear and even fishing equipment. The town itself is lovely and felt very safe. When we had a small issue and contacted Denise, she responded immediately, which we truly appreciated. A few helpful tips for future visitors: Cash is king. Most places don’t accept credit cards, so bring plenty of cash (U.S. dollars are widely accepted). You can withdraw up to $250 from the ATM in Bocas (there are no ATMs in Bastimentos), with a $7.20 fee. Swimming: Don’t plan on swimming directly in front of the house. The water there is quite dirty, and there is a lot of boat traffic. Food & groceries: There are small shops in Bastimentos that are great for basics and heavier items, but if you want fresh meat or a larger selection, plan to shop in Bocas. We would happily stay here again and highly recomm

First time in Bocas Del Toro. Really cool vibe here - its like a world within a world, everyone knows each other and the vibe is pretty fantastic. How was great, very peaceful. Fun to get around on water taxi. Recommend for sure.

Denise’s place is the best place for communal living in Bastimentos. It’s easy to navigate the island from and makes island living as easy as it can be. It’s well stocked and you can’t beat the view.

Denise’s place was one of the best Airbnbs we have stayed in. We liked the privacy and easy access. The house manual was helpful in navigating to the home and getting in. Morgan was great to work with. Communication was spot on. Wizard beach was a 20 min walk. We loved the plunge pool to cool off. Water taxis were easy to hail. We did a tour to the bat caves. We saw bats and swam in a deep pool inside the cave. A highlight of the whole trip. He provides transportation. A projector was available to watch Pirates of the Caribbean on the front deck. Wowza, what a magical vacation and this home made it that much more perfect.

BA casa has everything and more necessary for a perfect stay. The host was always super attentive! It's the best place to stay in Bastimentos. It just doesn't have air-conditioning, so it would be really perfect. However, there are fans on the ceiling that help a lot to withstand the heat. We were able to sleep perfectly even on hotter days. Having a sale also helps so you don't have light that interferes with sleep. I recommend it!

BA casa há tudo e mais alguma coisa necessário para uma estadia perfeita. O anfitrião foi sempre super atencioso! É o melhor sítio para ficar em Bastimentos. Só não tem ar condicionado assim seria mesmo perfeito. Porém tem ventoinhas no teto ajudam bastante a suportar o calor. Conseguimos dormir perfeitamente mesmo em dias de mais calor. Ter uma venda tb ajuda de forma a não ter luz que interfira no sono. Recomendo!

We loved our stay in Bastimentos at Denice’s House. The place was large and spacious enough for our two families of parents and two pre-teen kids. It was clean and was well stocked with lots of beach towels, and the kitchen was very well equipped. Morgan is the property manager and was very responsive for any questions or issues. We had fun exploring the town and hiked a few times to Wizard Beach. We also loved our dinners in Basti especially at The Firefly and Lysette’s Place. We 100% recommend reaching out to Gustavo (whose card is in the handy House Manual) to use as a guide while you are staying at the house. Gustavo and his grandson Carlos took the 8 of us all over. We snorkeled, swam on pristine beaches, found Red Tree Frogs and Sloths and hiked through beautiful rainforests. He picked us up from the airport and also took us into Boca Town a few times to explore and have dinner. The house is a perfect spot to stay while enjoying this lovely part of Panama.

My group had the best time in Bastimentos. We loved this house. Very easy to give a 5-star rating. Description was perfect, the hosts are communicative, the guides for check-in and using the home are really useful and thorough. Everyone should feel very comfortable and safe when booking this place! We really, really loved it and would happily come back for another stay in the future. For those who care - the wifi and internet works really well in the home. Someone in my group made a few Zoom calls for work and had no issues. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Denice's home is a wonderful option for a Bocas Del Toro get away. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, from the comfortable and generously sized bedrooms, so the wonderful dock where we spent evenings watching the sting rays swim through the water, to the lovely little pool that was great for a cool down. Everything was as described and was a great option for our family of 3. Denice and Morgan were super responsive to our questions and addressed the minor issues we spotted (e.g. a lightbulb) within hours. As other reviewers have mentioned, Gustavo is a wonderful tour guide and made exploring Bocas easy and relaxing!

My family of 4 adults LOVED the time we spent at this wonderful home over the water!  The home was beautiful and well-appointed, particularly the kitchen with an overabundance of appliances and lovely dinnerware.   Being over the water brought peace and relaxation day and night.  The hosts were super responsive and even included a virtual guide to the home and the area.  If you are staying in this home, you should get in contact with Gustavo, a local who is recommended by the hosts (contact is included in the virtual guide).  Give Gustavo a call before you arrive to make arrangements - he took us all over the islands and even had back up suggestions if some spots were closed.  We loved having a reliable person to help us navigate.  We highly recommend this home (and Gustavo) if you are visiting Bocas Del Toro!

Nice, big house in Bocas del Toro. Great communication with the host. Clean house and outside area. Great patio with many seating and lounging options. Well equipped kitchen. Very easy access to water taxis from the private dock. Unfortunately the water around was not swimmable, but we still had a great stay!

The home is beautiful and spacious, but there is a bit of an odour in the pool area (possibly from the garbage behind the property). The host is very transparent and gave us an early check-in which was much appreciated. We got lots of great recommendations, but I would recommend Firefly for a nearby restaurant (we tried many in Bocas town and it was better than them all and walkable). We would not suggest the Jungle hike with Gus and we would definitely recommend Zapatilla. Thank you for a great stay!

The place was amazing, one of the best on Bastimentos.  The hosts were great and always available.  We would definately stay here again.  Absolutely worth the money!  Thanks again for a great stay.

Denice is nice and responsive and tried to help whenever we needed anything. The house is large, well stocked and easily accessible with a boat. The pool is a nice addition, although we barely used it. We swam a little in the ocean close to the deck. The town is rural with only a few tourists. Charming to visit during the day, but a little intimidating after dark. Having said that, since you go in and out with a boat, you don't need to visit town if and when you don't want to. Note: you can't flush toilet paper (true for many toilets in the area)

The house was the nicest on the island. The surrounding area has a lot of garbage and open sewage that does get in the way of feeling relaxed or at one with nature. Food and to do on bastimentos is very limited but again the house is comfortable and stands out.

Thank you Denice and Morgan! 100% Recommended. Extremely spotless everything! The Boatman/Taxi Gustavo takes you wherever you want and it is very respectful. We could not swim around the house as the water was not very clean but you do not need it as there is a beautiful pool and swimming you will do it in the places where you go hiking. You can walk (unforgettable forest tour!) to Playa Wizzard (ideal for experienced surfers) which is beautiful but only to be in the sand and get wet to the waist as it is dangerous by the strong waves. 🌊

Gracias Denice y Morgan! Recomendable al 100%. Sumamente impecable todo! El Boatman/Taxi Gustavo te lleva a donde quieras y es muy respetuoso. No pudimos nadar alrededor de la casa ya que no se veía muy limpia el agua pero no lo necesitas ya que hay una pileta hermosa y nadar lo harás en los lugares a donde salgas de excursión. Puedes ir caminando (recorrido por el bosque inolvidable!) hasta Playa Wizzard (ideal para surfistas experimentados) que es preciosa pero solo para estar en la arena y mojarte hasta la cintura ya que es peligroso por las fuertes olas. 🌊

The house is as in the photos, very spacious and comfortable, with everything you need to spend a few fantastic days, my recommendation would be to shop the supermarket on Colon Island, since the neighborhood does not offer supermarkets in condition. The private dock served us a lot , as the tours picked us up directly at the house. The house and the stay ! Perfect 👌

La casa es como en las fotos, muy amplia y cómoda, con todo lo necesario para pasar unos días fantásticos , mi recomendación sería hacer la compra del supermercado en la isla Colon, ya que el vecindario no ofrece supermercados en condición. El muelle privado nos sirvió de mucho , ya que los tours nos recogían directamente en la casa. La casa y la estadía ! Perfecta 👌

We had a lovely stay at Denice's home. It is well situated in the Old Bank area. Sometimes it can be noisy due to the wildlife and town, but less than we expected. This was an incredible house that fit our family of 5 very well. The owner also provides an online guide that helps you find everything you need in the house and beyond. I will recommend this to friends going to visit Bocas!

Denice's house is amazing! The countryside from the balcony at dawn or in the evening was wonderful. We had delicious moments in this space. The kitchen is super-equipped and the offer of towels, bedding and other items is large, so we don't miss anything. When we arrived in the house, the pool was dirty because of a bomb problem, but Denice's support team in Bastimento was very attentive and solved the problem the same day. Denice is a very kind host, answering all our questions very quickly. We felt like we were in our own house and loved spending the three nights in Bastimento. The island is a spectacle apart and worth the visit!

A cozinha é super bem equipada e a oferta de toalhas, roupas de cama e outros itens é grande, de modo que não sentimos falta de nada. Quando chegamos na casa, a piscina estava suja por conta de um problema na bomba, mas a equipe de apoio de Denice em Bastimento foi muito atenciosa e resolveu o problema no mesmo dia. Denice é uma anfitriã muito gentil, respondendo com muita rapidez todos os nossos questionamentos. Nos sentimos como se estivéssemos em nossa própria casa e adoramos passar as três noites em Bastimento. A ilha é um espetáculo a parte e vale a visita!

Denice's place was great! We really enjoyed the experience of taking a water taxi directly from the house's dock anywhere we needed to go. Denice also recommended reaching out to Gustavo, who was our water taxi driver throughout our stay and was always available to take us wherever we needed to go. The amenities were as listed and we had no shortage of towels (always a concern when on a beach vacation)! Great stay, highly recommend

Spent 3 wonderful nights in this lovely home on the water. The host was very friendly and helpful. She provided us with a ton of information about the home, the surrounding area, restaurants, places to see and things to do. The house itself was perfect, exactly as described and had everything we needed including laundry detergent, coffee, sugar, creamer, spices and other items that made our stay very enjoyable and comfortable. Definitley go to the house first before loading up at the grocery store so you don't waste money on stuff you don't need (the local stores in Old Bank pretty much only have basic items so you'll want to shop in Bocas Town for a better variety of stuff). The host was very responsive and helpful whenever we needed anything. The house was very peaceful and had a beautiful view that we enjoyed every day. Nothing better than having your morning coffee on the dock! Highly recommended!

We had such a great time on Bastimentos Island. Amazing location, ocean and dipping pool to choose from. We ate out, rented SUPs to paddle from the deck. Just amazing !

We spent 7 amazing nights at the House with the Blue Roof! It was the perfect location for me and my kids to explore  Bocas.   The app was very helpful, and it made the experience so easy.  My kids are already being to come back.

First of all, the house is wonderful and exactly as described and shown in the pictures. Denise and Morgan were extremely easy to communicate with and if we ever did need anything, I'm sure it would have been taken care of. Fact is, we didn't ever need anything. The dip pool was wonderful to have as the humidity was quite high the week we were there. Between the fans and the breezes, we didn't have a need for AC. The best part of Denise's place is the community it resides in. Old Bank Bastimentos is unlike anywhere we had ever been! The people are wonderful and we ate a local, mostly family-owned restaurants every night. The food was great at all of them! We used Gustavo as our water taxi captain the entire week and even got to meet some of his family and shared in his birthday cake. He was extremely attentive to our every need. I would highly recommend Denise's place and the experience of Isla Bastimentos.

Loved the home over the water! The best part was sitting at the end of the dock every evening to watch the sea life!! The home was great and had everything we needed. We explored the town, ate at local restaurants (go to Mami’s) and went exploring some more by boat with snorkeling. Also loved snorkeling right off the dock. The plunge pool was appreciated. Denice was a wonderful host. She was extremely responsive and provided fantastic recommendations/things to do. I would highly recommend staying at Denice's beautiful place! The pool was great for a quick dip during the spring heat. Water taxis (main source of transportation) were easy to flag down and most of them knew of Denice's place so the pick-up/drop-off was smooth/simple. Denice went above and beyond to ensure we were enjoying our stay. One of the best airbnb hosts I've had the pleasure of staying with. The island of Bastimentos is safe and the people are VERY friendly. Amazing vacation, great host, beautiful home, and overall an unforgettable time.

Everything was great. Recommended especially for those who want to be quiet for a couple of days in a comfortable and nice place and without moving around a lot.

Todo estuvo muy bien. Recomendable sobre todo para quienes quieran estar quietos por un par de días en un lugar cómodo y lindo y sin moverse mucho.

The hosts were very responsive to messages, and helpful when we needed a few things replenished. Check in and check out were very easy and they are very organized with information about the rental. The space itself was a bit smaller than anticipated, especially the kitchen/dining area. Noise transfer between rooms within the house and from outside was very apparent. The walkway from the house to the pool area could use a railing as well. Perhaps just time of year, but the water off Old Bank was murky almost the whole time we were there (6/7 days). There was a fair amount of garbage in the water.

This place is 5 Stars!  House location can’t be beat and easy to find w Denice’s good directions. We spent the entire first day just watching the water and boat traffic from the peaceful porch. Old Bank is a thriving little community, rich w culture and very friendly locals. The restaurants in the guide book Denice provides were all great. The walk to Wizard beach is a must staying here! The plunge pool is a nice addition. The kitchen is well equipped to make meals. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We loved our time at Denise's! Relaxing, beautiful and fun. The house app was amazing and communication was excellent. The house was comfortable and perfect for our stay. We were greeted by Gustavo shortly after our arrival to set up any transportation needs.  Our favorite restaurant was The Firefly - don't miss it!  All other recommendations were great!  We would definitely stay here again!

We had a great time. Basti is a special place and we made friends with the staff at local restaurants. A great home base for Bocas destinations.

We were excited to score this place last minute. We were traveling with 8 and it has plenty of rooms for everyone. The listing and pictures are spot on. Here are the positives: -Communication was great from the host and her co-hosts. -It is a short water taxi ride from Isla colon. It is also on the water taxi route, so hailing one is quick and easy. We were also lucky that we hired a local as our dedicated boat captain for our entire stay. -The locals are friendly and they are eager to help. There are plenty to do on the island. We went on couple of hikes to wizard beach and red frog beach. -There are bodegas within minutes away. Selection is limited but it is good enough for a nice homemade breakfast. We didn’t’ even need to grocery shop in Colon. Here are the negatives: - since it is on a water taxi route, so traffic, noise and exhaust. You get the idea - the walking path beyond the wooden gate could use some cleaning up and landscaping. Lights?

We stayed in the property for a few nights for a few nights. The lack of air conditioning of the bedrooms has made us great. It was almost unbearable. The place itself was as described. Except for the check-out rules (which should usually be self-evident), we were satisfied.

Wir waren zu 6. für einige Nächte in der Unterkunft. Die fehlende Klimatisierung der Schlafzimmer hat uns sehr zu schaffen gemacht. Es war nahezu unerträglich. Die Unterkunft an sich war wie beschrieben. Bis auf die Regeln zum Check out (was normalerweise selbstverständlich sein sollte) waren wir  zufrieden.

It was by far the most beautiful place we had during our trip. Everything was adorable and even nicer than the pictures. Thank you for this great time!!!

This was our first trip to Panama and Bocas. We were really unsure of where to stay - town and island - and we are glad we choose Basti and Denice’s place. The house was easy to find and easy to get a taxi in to Bocas or a neighboring island. You definitely want to bring cash (small $ for taxi rides $5, $10 and/or $1). It was typically $5 per person per taxi ride. We did get a chance to eat at the local restaurant Firefly (they only accept cash and you need a reservation). It was just a short walk from the house and probably one of the best meals during our stay. As disclosed this house has no AC (many places do not on the islands). The temp is consistent day and night and very humid.  We were grateful for the fans.  Our favorite part of the house was the porch looking out to the bay/ocean. It was truly beautiful.

My group of friends and I enjoyed the home. It’s big with plenty of space and all the things you need to cook. The pool was lovely post beach days out of the house. It was easy to get to via water taxi and there was enough local restaurants. The host was super responsive during our stay and had helpful recommendations. Our main issues were the lack of AC which we knew but without much breeze it was really hot inside most the time and difficult to sleep. The fans helped but would just caution anyone who really needs a cool environment to sleep.

What an amazing house in an amazing location. Right from booking Denice and Morgan have been helpful, responsive and accommodating for everyone. The guidebook and check in instructions was perfect as we wanted for nothing. I’d urge anyone To follow any of the recommendations given. We went in rainy season and saw no rain! The house was perfect for a lazy day in the sun and the pool is an added bonus if we didn’t want to swim off the deck into the sea. We stayed for 8 nights and the house was ideal but can easily be used for short or long term stays. Bastimentos won’t be for everyone but we loved it. The stories of bad trash is true but they are working so hard to clean this up - it’s a traditional Caribbean town, small, friendly and vibrant. Every restaurant we ate at was superb. Also take the walk to wizard beach. There has been a new path so don’t be put off by reports of muddy jungle walks. And use Gustavo as your local boatman. He took us to some amazing places we’d never find!

I’ve been in bocas del toro for nearly 3 weeks. This was my 3rd stay and only one with a group. I loved this place. Favorite so far! Great for my friends and I. Good for some private time and to connect with friends. We had a good mix of eating out and making dinner at home! Would stay here again! Highly recommend. They held my bags until check-in, our excursion went a little over time so we returned late - the place that holds your bags closes at 6pm so keep that in mind when planning. But one of the hosts kindly waited for us even though we were delayed by our tour guides. If you need a place to store things after check out, it does cost $5 so keep that in mind. Wonderful home! Also note that it will cost $6-10 pp round trip each time you take a water taxi to bocas town. Depends on the kind of trip you want, but for us, it was worth it.

We could not have loved this house more. It was absolutely perfect for our first time in Bocas del Toro. Basti was so peaceful and the people incredibly kind. The house is spectacular and really made our trip. Morgan was very quick with responses. Travel to and from the main island was easy and convenient. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Thank you!

The house is mazing, comfortable and hammocks on the veranda are awesome. We really enjoyed the village life, beautiful walk to the stunning Wizard beach, especially the far right end. Two things we did not expect: there is a lot of smelly trash around the village and we expected to be swimming and snorkeling right from the house. The water is muddy and sometimes with floating trash from the village. We were there in rainy season so it may look completely different other part of the year. But I doubt water is ever clear as there is rather mud than sand on the bottom. Overall, it was great experience and we really enjoyed the place.

A fabulous house in the heart of the Old Bank in Bastimentos. We loved being away from the tourist hustle in Bocas Town and among locals. Denice provided an incredible guide with suggested tours, restaurants and more that was invaluable. Well stocked kitchen (note that there is no freezer) and helpful laundry. Traveled with my partner, our two kids (age 5 and 8), grandparents in their 70s. We struggled without AC but nightly storms cooled things down significantly.

Loved our stay! Lots of places to walk to from the house, cute town. We loved Firefly for dinner. Easy walk to Wizards beach. Water taxis got expensive for 4 of us. We hired Gustavo for several trips. He was always punctual but be clear on pricing before setting off as prices seemed to change. We spent our mornings enjoying the view from the front porch and watching all the happenings going on. The pool was a huge advantage. We used it multiple times a days, very refreshing. The house is situated right in front of another house which only effects you when using the pool, we would play music, and when going into town since you walk through their yard. They are a friendly family but a little surprising the first time you open the gate. Loved walking around town.

Denice’s home on Basti was beautiful. I woke up each morning unable to grasp how perfect it was. You are located in the small town on Basti and have the opportunity to meet so many people. Water taxis were very easy to get and we were only a short ride from everything we needed. Bocas is a beautiful place and Denice’s home gave us a homey and comfortable place to return to each day.

The place was even better than in the pictures and we had a good time there. Meanwhile, there are even some options on Bastimentos to pay with the card, for example in the neighboring restaurant or the small shops on the island. You will find many locals on site who advertise their tours and make a lot of effort. Communication throughout the stay was great. It wasn't loud in the evening, not even on the weekend.

Die Unterkunft war noch besser als auf den Bildern und wir hatten eine gute Zeit vor Ort. Mittlerweile gibt es sogar auf Bastimentos einige Möglichkeiten mit der Karte zu bezahlen, beispielsweise in dem benachbarten Restaurant oder den kleinen Einkaufsläden auf der Insel. Man findet vor Ort viele Einheimische, die ihre Touren bewerben und sich dabei sehr bemühen. Die Kommunikation während des gesamten Aufenthalts war super. Laut war es Abends nicht, auch nicht am Wochenende.

We had a great time - the house is beautifully located - incredible views and surrounding. The place is super organized - has everything you may need - great kitchen, lots of towels, washer and dryer. Plunge pool at the back is a huge plus - especially after a long day of beach and snorkeling. We loved the location - away from the crowds in Bocas. A great stay!

We had a great 4 night stay at Denice’s home.  It is exactly as described - remote, quiet and beautiful.  It is a great place to use as a base - particularly for families - to experience bocas del toro.  The house is great and well stocked for cooking and living.  The kids loved fishing for catfish off the dock and we found a great guide named Sabil who lives on island and was able to take us anywhere we needed to go.  Don’t miss eating at the firefly nearby - it was our favorite meal on island.  In the main town (a $5/per person boat taxi ride away) we loved coco fastronomy and Octo.

The house is very nice and comfortable. It is easy to locate from the boats, the only means of transportation, both day and night. The village is picturesque but very basic. If you're going to cook, you have to bring everything from Bocas Town.  It has good linens and EVERYTHING for the kitchen. The only thing that's slow is the refrigerators (3), which take 1 day to start cooling. The pool is good for cooling off and relaxing. We had 4 rainy days and the house was a perfect choice because it is very spacious and bright. Perfect communication with hosts.

La casa es muy bonita y cómoda. Es fácil de ubicar desde las lanchas, el único medio de transporte, tanto de día como  de noche. El pueblito es pintoresco pero muy básico. Si vas a cocinar hay q traer todo desde Bocas Town.  Tiene buena ropa de cama y TODO para la cocina. Lo único flojo son las heladeras (3), que tardan 1 día en empezar a enfriar. La pileta está buena para refrescarse y relajarse. A nosotros nos tocaron 4 días con lluvia y la casa fue una opción perfecta porque es muy amplia y luminosa. La comunicación con los anfitriones perfecta.

The property was in a great location reachable by water taxi only. There's 2 small stores we found that had minimal choices. I would recommend guests to do their grocershopping in Bocas town. The kitchen is well equipped and the plunge pool is refreshing. We tried 2 of the restaurants on the island that were adequate. We decided to book a private fishing trip with Sean Hartel who is known around the islands as the" never comes back empty handed" guy. We caught Wahoo and it was so much fun we booked an additional day and caught black fin tuna that we cut into  the freshest sashimi I ever had. All in all a beautiful residence with a view off the upper and lower decks to match. I would recommend for families and multiple couples.

Denice and Morgan were super friendly and responsive. The house is located near the main dock in Bastimentos Old Bank and you can whistle boats over to your house within minutes to go surfing to all the wonderful breaks. The community and the people in the village are wonderful, you may find it hard to get all the ingredients at the local supermarket as it is quite small, you find the basics. But you have 3-4 good restaurants within 5min walk. On Friday and Saturday there is a local bar having music until 23.30 or 00.00, did not disturb us at all since we simply joined the party. All in all, fantastic place to stay and will come back for sure.

Great communication and it’s in a wonderful location.  Enjoyed the locals and easy to get around.  Music next door was loud at times but wasn’t going to ruin our time at such a beautiful place.  Water taxis were available at anytime.  We will be back to visit again! Thanks for sharing your home

This house is EXACTLY as described. Beautiful, remote, and very integrated into island life. The island is full of very friendly ppl and so many cool adventures. The hosts are incredible- during our stay the ice machine wasn't working and they had ice delivered to us every few days and we were so thankful! a couple of notes the bar next door: we went during the off season and 99% of the time the music was reasonable. However one night it was genuinely so loud it shook the house and played until 5am. THIS IS NOT THE HOSTS FAULT AND THEY WERE VERY UPFRONT ABOUT THE NOISE. If you have kids or light sleepers on your vacation this may not be the perfect fit. heat: as described the listing doesn't have ac and only has fans. this was fine for most of our party but one member had heat triggered migraines and they had to relocate. The fans can keep most people comfortable but if any of your party are heat intolerant I would consider another listing. all in all the place was amazing and we would absolutely return! I highly recommend this island paradise, you won't regret it

Perfect cosy location with a great view. House was really great with all ingredients to make it a very comfortable stay. Personally I appreciated the communication between the house owners and us. Very helpful. Neighbor bar was little enthusiastic with the music volume, but that is what also makes Bastimentos old bank very lively and a place you want to visit. Recommendation of the owner to visit Lysette’s as an informal place for good dinner and ice cold drink was well received by all our 6 family members.

Great stay! Serene environment and a lovely community. Would stay here again 10/10.

Everything about Denice’s place was nothing short of AMAZING! Also the communication was awesome. The location. The architecture. The view!!!Just everything was magical. As for the bar that’s next door playing music, we absolutely LOVED it! Super island vibes and we enjoyed every moment. My favorite part had to be the open kitchen! I am obsessed with this home and will definitely be staying again! Thank you Denise for everything! I had such a wonderful stay!

This location is wonderful, 10 minutes to the main town and never had issues with water taxis. The house is clean and the pool was heaven to beat the heat. If you expect some of the unexpected and roll with it, you will have an amazing experience. We loved it.

The house is beautiful, as shown in the photos. The views are wonderful, very comfortable, very clean, the kitchen has all kinds of utensils. The location in the village of Old Bank is very good, close to all the activities and 5 minutes from Bocas Town and different from other houses in Bocas, a more authentic experience for our taste. Denice offers you a guide with a lot of restaurants, bars, activities and is always available for any questions you may have. In short, a great experience

La localización en el pueblo de Old Bank es muy buena, cerca de todas las actividades y a 5 minutos de Bocas Town y distinta a otras casas en Bocas, una experiencia más autentica para nuestro gusto. The house is gorgeous, and exactly as seen in photos. The hosts were very helpful and quick to respond to questions and inquiries. The bar is very loud but was expected and the hosts were up front about it as well as stated in other reviews but still fairly annoying but not as bad during weekdays! Firefly restaurant is a must if you stay in this house.

We stayed for a month at Denice’s place on Bastementos . It is exactly as the photos show . There is lots of room with fans in all the bedrooms and two in the kitchen/dinning room and on the large covered deck . Denice has provided wonderful large beach and bath towels and very nice bed linens . The temperature drops at sunset and nice breezes come up so there is really no need for air conditioning . We lived on the covered deck or in the hammocks on on outer deck . We brought stand up paddle boards/kayaks with us and paddled everyday in the bay or into the mangroves inner waters where the water is crystal clear so you can see starfish and other fish , maybe even dolphin . All the beaches are on the other side of the island but we did swim off the dock . All the beaches are very nice , but you must be aware to watch for riptides . The local boat taxis are great to go anywhere . We took tours with locals to both , star fish beach & bird island one day and to Zapatista beach and dolphin watching another day .Also rented ebikes in Bocas town and really enjoyed . You can do most any tour for around 30$. We preferred to try to support the locals first . That said , one exception would be a must visit to “the floating bar “ not far from Bocas town . We went twice and loved it . Two things beyond the owners control keep me from giving a five star review first, there is a bar next door that plays very loud music to 1-3 in the morning. We tried not to let it bother us . Second, if you have not travelled to Central America you will find there is a lot of litter around ,that is not unique to here but is hard to ignore .

The house is absolutely amazing! We loved the pool in back, the breezes, and the attentive host that responded so quickly. Even without A/C, because the house is over water and each room has fans, we were comfortable and content. The bar next door is definitely an issue. We were prepared for noise, but they play the music so loud that the house and windows shake, plus you can hear it when the doors and windows are shut. Of our five nights there, we had one night the bar was closed and one night there was a power outage, so those nights were peaceful. One night they played music, but the volume was totally tolerable and finished at midnight - if it were like this the whole time, that would be perfect. There were two nights of the house-shaking base - thankfully our 6-year-old was exhausted and slept through it.

The property is beautiful, the views are beautiful and I personally love the vibes in Bastimento but it is not for everyone. If you are not able to sleep thru immense levels of noise then do not stay here.

This place is really beautiful. However, they failed to let us know that a very loud bar is almost next door and plays music so loud until 1 AM that it shakes the entire house. We were looking for a relaxing and calm vacation getaway. This did not promise to be that. All that being said, the place is absolutely gorgeous. They’ve done an excellent job and it’s not their fault that a bar is next-door ruining their perfect vacation getaway.

Firstly I’d like to say the communication with the owners was great and the attention to detail, guidebook etc was very good. The house was clean and the kitchen well stocked with cooking equipment. Unfortunately while it is mentioned that their are occasional parties on the island and the bar next door likes to play loud music on the weekends we weren’t aware that loud music was going to be so brutal we could feel it vibrating our walls and that we couldn’t hold a conversation or that it went for 12hrs a day and ended at 3-4 in the morning. I totally understand this is beyond the control of the owners and nor do I blame the owners of the bar, but anyone staying here needs to be aware that this is a possibility during their stay. We originally booked this place for a week but after 3 days of no sleep we canceled the remainder of our stay which is all fairness to the owners was fully refunded.

I want to thank Denice for being such a nice and attentive host. Her house is very beautiful just as described in the App. Moving between islands was easy and we enjoyed the beautiful beaches @ Bocas del Toro. The only thing worth mentioning is that a bar just beside the house plays very loud music til midnight making it hard to sleep at night. We were told the problem is being addressed. Other than that everything was absolutely nice!

The house was absolutely beautiful. Location was amazing. We loved living in Old Bank with the locals. All the locals were very friendly and welcoming. It was such a good experience seeing how the locals lived life. It was so easy to communicate with Denice and the co-hosts. They always responded right away. The guidebook was a lifesaver and had everything in it. The only thing worth mentioning (which obviously isn’t Denice’s fault) is that a local bar next door recently re-opened so it played music between 2 pm to midnight and it was quite loud at the house. It normally wouldn’t be an issue for us but we were traveling with our parents and toddler so they had a hard time sleeping due to the music. But other than that everything was amazing and a 5 star stay.

Denice's place was beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. The house was easy to navigate to from the airport and there were plenty of water taxis to access directly from the pier whenever we wanted to venture around Bocas. We loved exploring Bastimentos - trekking to Up in the Hill Cafe, trying out local restaurants, and exploring nearby beaches (we especially enjoyed Cayo Zapatilla & Red Frog Beach). Everyone we met in the community was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The only drawback we experienced was the loud music from the bar next door - Coco's Bar. After reaching out to Denice's team, who were always quick to respond, they found that it was a new bar trying to attract people with their music, but being in such close proximity, it was difficult to enjoy the loud music playing until midnight. Other than that, we could not have asked for a better stay!

This house is absolutely amazing, on a quiet island full of nice local people. Full confort, very well located its perfect for a group of friends or a big family. Denice and her team are probably  the best host you can expect. We had such a great time, we even saw some dolphins in front of the private deck. If you are looking for good boat taxi drivers look for a green boat call sacha (romane is the driver) or El Chamo (roberto). They took care of us for 2 weeks they are from bastimentos and very sympatic.

Such a cute and welcoming place to stay in Bastamentos! We loved walking around on the island and enjoyed trying different restaurants on the island. Denice was a great host and we loved the online guest guide she created! Overall would recommend to anyone looking for a clean and relaxing vacation!

Truly the best Airbnb experience I have had. Excellent communication with an extensive fool proof guide and instructions. The house is nothing short of amazing. We didn't even want to leave to go to bocastown and hung out mostly at the house...the main town is a short water taxi ride away so please don't fear being on a separate island from the main town this is an exceptional house not to be missed especially for large groups....it is so spacious and no one has to be on top of each other which is good because it rained the entire week and my fear of everyone being trapped inside dissipated when I saw all of the space to have alone time if needed. The kitchen was well stocked with great housewares and we cooked everyday. I could go on and on. I stayed in the upstairs suite which was open airy and a magical experience if the night sky's are clear as you can see stars from the windows that surround the bed. Thank you Denise for such a great experience all of the extra details were truly appreciated. I will return again.

This place is AMAZING!!! My three girlfriends and I stayed here and when our water taxi dropped us off on our private dock we were in heaven! Such a great value, the location was awesome, and Denice has a whole website that is a local guide for all you need. We were here for one week and could not be happier with our stay. Clean sheets, comfy beds, all the kitchen amenities you need to cook delicious meals while starring at the water and eat them on the huge wrap-around porch. There's even a small pool to hang out in. Oh and hammocks to chill in and read a book, drink your coffee, or take a siesta. It was walking distance to some great local spots in Basti and a quick 10 minute water taxi ride to Bocastown. There we're only 4 of us so we each had our own room but we could see this being a great place for 4 couples to vacation together or even a big family of 8. 100% would recommend and we will be back for sure!
