The Space

This eco-friendly, off-grid vacation and surf rental offers a peaceful retreat with stunning views of treetops and the ocean. From the property, you can see Costa Rica across the ocean in the distance. The home is nestled above the jungle canopy, where monkeys and birds are often visible below.

The house features an open-plan design with three walls, providing privacy at the top of La Vista as the last house on the street. Early mornings bring beautiful sunrises across the valley, though bamboo blinds help block most of the light. From 10 a.m. onward, the house remains shaded.

Highlights include an infinity pool and a yoga/chill deck overlooking the valley and ocean. The kitchen is fully equipped with a blender, toaster, stovetop espresso pot, gas stove, refrigerator, freezer (capable of storing five days’ worth of frozen meat and making ice), and a water dispenser.

Location

The property is a 20-minute walk from the beach through a river valley and jungle, home to local wildlife like monkeys and birds. Nearby are three surf breaks:

• Colorado's
• Ponga Drops
• Los Paros (a rocky right-hand break closest to the house)

The entire beach offers a beach break.

Amenities and Nearby Facilities

Close to the house, you will find:

• A surfboard rental shop next to the golf pro shop in Hacienda Iguana
• A grocery store
• A café serving great food and ice cream with reliable Wi-Fi
• A bar offering drinks and food in the evening

Guest Access

Guests have full access to the house and pool. The property is private and tranquil, perfect for relaxation.

House Rules and Sustainability

To maintain the cleanliness and eco-friendliness of the property, guests are asked to observe the following:

• No sand allowed in the pool or shower
• No cigarette butts anywhere on the premises
• Composting is mandatory to minimize waste and keep insects away
• Use biodegradable soaps and dish liquids whenever possible
• Bring your own bio soap and detergent if needed; the property is scent-free
• Keep all food scraps in a sealed container and compost them at the designated area at the top of the property by the retaining wall
• No smoking or scented items inside the house or on the property

There is a minimum stay of three days.

Additional Information

An early surf or swim is a refreshing way to start the day, followed by breakfast and a nap in the hammock with your favorite companion or the resident cat, Tigre.
