Water front on Yalku Lagoon Villa Gauguin Akumal

Villa Gauguin exceeded every expectation! We stayed with 9 adults and 2 toddlers, and the house was perfect for our group. It was stunning, spacious, and beautifully maintained, with a fully stocked kitchen, BBQ, and plenty of room for everyone. The lagoon views were breathtaking, and we loved the easy access to snorkeling, kayaks, and the paddleboard. The pool, sandy area, and excellent A/C made it perfect for all ages. The home was so beautiful we barely wanted to leave. Alberto and Cynthia were exceptional, taking care of every need and making us feel completely at home. We’ve traveled all over the world, and this is the nicest vacation home we’ve ever stayed in. Even people walking the lagoon stopped to tell us it was the best house in the area! The grocery delivery and airport transportation coordinated by Akumal Villas were affordable, seamless, and made traveling with a large group effortless. We can’t wait to come back!

Seriously, look no further, this place is fantastic! We've just come off a six-night stay with two families for moms' 60th birthdays. Parents and our six adult children loved everything about this house and location. Beautiful, comfy, clean, spacious. Everything we needed/wanted was in Akumal, either walking distance or just a short drive away, and simply spending time at the house by the pool/ocean was amazing. Off the rocks to the left into the lagoon was beautiful snorkeling. Walking: great restaurants, the best authentic gift shop, massage place. A walk or a run for exercise was great, too. Alberto and Cynthia were delightful, helpful, kept the house clean and tidy day-to-day, what a treat. We even hired them to cook one night, best shrimp tacos ever, at a fraction of the cost of advertised chefs. Property manager Rhett was super helpful and friendly, stopped by and gave us tips on restaurants, things to do and be wary of. Two thumbs up from all of us!

Spectacular stay at Villa Gauguin. We had an amazing time and felt so well taken care of. Chefs Adriana and Rodrigo were fabulous—highly recommend. Alberto and Cynthia took great care of us as well. Incredible place to spend a peaceful and luxurious week!

Villa Gaughin was amazing. The views were spectacular, the bedrooms lovely, the pool area wonderful for lounging and reading. Alberto and Cynthia attended to our every need (and made exceptional breakfasts!) and management was also very responsive and helpful. We were only 5 people so the house felt huge. Very comfortably could have accommodated more. The house was kept spotless, the kitchen is clean and attractive. Beds were comfortable. And again, the views -- from every room. The house is striking and tastefully designed. We hope to return!

Villa Gauguin is fabulous! Our family of ten (ranging in age from 19-88) had a wonderful time. Cinthia and Alberto are just super - thank you!

This place is a GEM. Especially if you love to swim. We swam right off the rocks and over to the left to the lagoon and cenote every day. We rented bikes and rode to "town". The house itself is gorgeous and worked really well for our group of 12. Plenty of room to spread out, but also really nice gathering spaces. The management company is extremely warm, helpful, and responsive. The on-site caretakers handled everything, and we HIGHLY recommend getting the additional chef's package! What a treat! I want to leave a terrible review so that no one else discovers it...hahah. But seriously, it was a flawless experience.

The Villa was absolutely beautiful. I went on holiday with my family, it was a total of 14 of us and we all had a lovely time, Cynthia and E were absolutely helpful, friendly and caring. I will definitely be staying again.

Loved the location! The house was very spacious and it felt very peaceful and relaxing.
