The Space
Villa Durazno is an expansive and elegant property designed to offer tropical luxury, breathtaking views, and complete privacy. Recently refurbished both inside and out, it features updated, stylish furniture and modern amenities.
The villa includes six uniquely decorated en-suite bedrooms, three of which are master suites. There is a spacious salon and reception area, a large west-facing sun terrace, and an aquarium infinity pool. The kitchen is professionally equipped, complemented by a BBQ and rancho area. Additional leisure options include a games room and a large double garage. Air conditioning and Wi-Fi are available throughout the property.
Guests benefit from the support of an on-site property manager who can coordinate transportation, spa treatments, chef and bartender services, excursions, and other activities to enhance your stay in Costa Rica.
Location and Activities
Several beaches are just a short drive away, along with bars, restaurants, golf courses, and supermarkets. The area offers abundant opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, sailing, fishing, hiking, and trekking. The local tropical wildlife is diverse, with birdwatching being especially rewarding.

The house worked great for our family. The pool and patio area was the best part. A million dollar view. So many wonderful memories were made out there. Nobody wanted to leave and go home. David and Armando were so responsive to our every need. Would love to come back some day! Magical!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we had an excellent time at Villa Durazno. The space was fantastic for our three families with young children. Everyone got a master suite and kids had plenty of room. This place is MASSIVE. The back patio/pool was absolutely incredible with an unbelievable view. The view never got old. Wow. We had a lot of fun relaxing and the kids had a blast playing in the pool. David was a fantastic host and was such a help in making our experience in an unfamiliar country go very smoothly. He helped us plan activities and dinner reservations, setup chefs, ensure we could watch March Madness basketball, and was always on standby. Honestly his presence is probably the best aspect of this property. (And the view!) The location of the home is definitely out of the way up a big hill in a quiet part of Cost Rica. You get tons of privacy. If you are looking to relax and enjoy a beach vacation in a beautiful, spacious home you can't beat this place.

What a wonderful 7 Days we enjoyed at the Villa. The home is large and lovely - exceeding our expectations. We were a group of 10 family members and all enjoyed a private bed and bath. The home's unique architecture and modern touches were a delight. The outside area is so beautiful and private. The lower level pool windows provided many a fun picture! As others have noted, the house would just be a BIG house without David. He not only shopped my extensive grocery list prior to arrival but also greeted us with sparkling wine after a long journey. Once you learn the location of the house, traveling to and from was a piece of cake. We did rent two cars and the drive to Coco and other excursions was easy. David arranged a van for us to take to Tamarindo for sunset sailing as we were not too keen to drive home in the dark after a day of drinks. Agua Blu was a favorite hangout and only a ten-minute drive. We loved all the beauty and people of Costa Rica and hope to come back!

Villa Durazno has 6 suites all with private full bathrooms. The villa is two floors with two master suites on the top floor with living room and kitchen, and one master suite and three smaller bedrooms on the lower floor. The swimming pool overlooks the ocean. You can arrange a private chef (Luis, he's fantastic) to cook for you. The villa was a bit hard to find -- our shuttle driver struggled a bit to locate the villa. The most disappointing part was the AC that wasn't working in the main living room so it was really hot at night. The fans in the living room were broken as well. All the rooms and the lower level are well air-conditioned. It is a great house for a large group. David (host) is extremely communicative and Fany (house manager who lives next door) is super friendly.

This is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. The views are better than pictured. Love all of the space and separate rooms and bathrooms for our big party. David helped us with whatever we needed and was very accommodating and kind. We could not have asked for a better stay. We will definitely be back!

I've stayed at a good many Airbnb's over the years and Villa Durazno is definitely the best of the best! The house is beautiful and the pictures really don't do it justice. The view is stunning, especially at sunset. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the infinity pool is deep and clean, and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. David is a fantastic host, extremely responsive, friendly, and proactive. 10/10, couldn't have had a better time and would definitely stay again!

The views and privacy are beyond amazing! We were a group of 11 and everyone had plenty of room. The house is so beautiful and the design is spectacular. David was so responsive and helpful with everything we needed. We ate out most nights but the one critical thing I would say is the oven and coffee maker aren’t the best and could be updated but that’s so small, I wouldn’t hesitate to return and I cannot wait to! We spent most of the time at the house because it was so relaxing and beautiful. Highly recommend

The pictures don’t come close to doing this place justice. It’s incredible. David makes sure you have the trip you dream of — just tell him what you want to do, and he will take care of the rest. He stocked our fridge so we didn’t have to worry about it before we arrived, and he arranged our excursions and travel. We also had a driver we felt safe with. We had the same driver all weekend. David set that up, too. The entire thing was stress-free. I plan to come back 100 more times

We had a great stay overall. The place is more beautiful in person. I guarantee you will be amazed as you walk in. The pool and view is to die for. The sunsets are unreal! The home is true luxury in all its details. David is an awesome laid back host. He is a super friendly, easy-going individual. Normally I don't prefer it when hosts stay at the same location - It feels a bit intrusive and we like our privacy. However, it didn't feel that way at all with David. It was actually a pleasure to have him nearby! and his response time was spot on. He arranged chef dinners for us and COVID tests, and even recommended some beaches to visit. He is an awesome host! The only BIG game changer is the AC around the house. This is truly what would have gotten this review a 5/5 stars. Unfortunately, our experience was significantly diminished by the heat inside. The central AC was not working so that meant the whole living room/kitchen area was HOT ALL THE TIME. Imagine being outside in the heat, beach, town, whatever, and coming home to a stuffy hot house! I think it's important to relay this useful information so that future experiences can be world class, and the owners can have more business and better reviews! The cooling infrastructure is, currently, not up to par. It is outdated, and it doesn't match the beautiful house! We had two people miss our chef dinner one night, one had a full on heat stroke who had to lie in bed all night in one of the rooms! We even tried having the doors closed for several hours with the AC on and it barely cooled it down. Other people complained about some of the rooms not having working AC units. The downstairs basement area didn't have working AC either. I think there were only three rooms which were fine with the AC situation. The icemaker never worked either. I know it's Costa Rica (third world?), but I've been to plenty of other large places in Costa Rica and it's never been an issue. Case in point - our Airbnb prior to this one on this same trip (where we had my wedding) was much much larger with 8 suites and four large living rooms, bars, kitchens, etc, and it was never an issue. And people were opening and closing the doors all the time so that is not an excuse either! Again, this is all meant as constructive feedback so that the owners can make the proper capital investment to the house. Invest in the central AC system, upgrade it, reinforce it with more units, or have more local units inside!! This will increase the property value and cash flow in the meantime. It's truly a beautiful dreamy place!! I would LOVE to come back to this property but only IF these steps are taken, otherwise I wouldn't even recommend this place to anyone. Frankly you can't underestimate the value of a comfortable interior climate, especially in a hot tropical place. AC is not a perk or a plus, it's a necessity! Please please please do this and I promise you we WILL be back and so will others in my network!
