This place is absolutely breath taking. The pictures do not do it justice. The local eateries nearby along with the beaches are also fantastic. The onsite groundskeeper was super nice and came up to notify us when there were monkeys out nearby. He also made it feel safer knowing someone was watching the property. I will absolutely be back.

The house is older, with amazing views, roomy open floor plan, nice infinity pool, a lot of great outdoor space. However, my daughter had to sleep with no a/c in her HOT room for our entire stay despite someone coming out and “claiming” to fix it. I would like to mention the host did respond, but the problem was never resolved during our stay. The house does have great potential if it was maintained better overall, sweep the porch and around the pool, pressure wash surfaces, attend to the broken wall lights and string lights, replace the old, stained and worn out outdoor furniture, trim dead bushes, just make it look as nice and clean as the pictures. Upon arrival, I had to sweep the inside and the porch, wipe down the kitchen counters, and pick up trash, old deflated pool floats and broken pieces of pool noodles all over the place. I don’t think the house is worth the cost if all these issues aren’t addressed. You do need a 4x4 vehicle for the road up the mountain.

We had a beautiful stay here. The place was just spectacular and we didn't want to leave. The pics match the place and views were some of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Very beautiful home as well. Definitely need a good car to get up the steep hill. Would definitely book again.

Group of 6 from Canada. Beautiful home. 8 nights in paradise. Sunset in the pool amazing. Castle Lilo just up the road at the top a must for supper. Food and everything all within 10 minutes from house. 5 beaches close. Road up hill to home not that bad at all. 7 minutes up. Would rent again for sure. Spot on.

I usually prefer to leave positive reviews, but I feel it’s only fair to share this feedback so future guests know what to expect. For the price, you would certainly expect more. The furniture throughout the house is very dated, especially the outdoor furniture. The water pressure was good in the kitchen, but very poor on the bedroom side. In the master bathroom the shower pressure was extremely low, to the point that we ended up taking showers outside. I’m giving this property 3 stars mainly because the view is absolutely amazing, that’s really the highlight of the stay. With some investment in updates and basic maintenance, this home could be truly perfect.

The view is absolutely spectacular and the sunset is something out of a movie! We loved waking up and being able to go straight out to the pool and to enjoy it all day into the early evening. everything you need is up there, including the washer and dryer. the town down the hill is only about 20 minutes—The road to get up there is completely unpaved so a 4 x 4 is definitely needed especially if it’s dark or raining. Do not take the monkey road!!!! Unless you’re an avid off-roader and have a jeep! The house itself was very spacious and clean. The water pressure and temperature is mediocre, but that’s normal for the mountains. Mikol is the caretaker that lives on the property and he is super friendly and was available if we needed anything.

We had such a great stay at this house in Potrero! The pool and the view were absolutely beautiful and made it hard to leave the house some days. The drive up the hill wasn’t bad at all with our 4WD, but I’d definitely recommend having one. It was about a 10-minute drive up and down the hill to get into Potrero for dinners and beach days, and we loved exploring town - such a fun little spot. The house was super clean and had plenty of extra towels and blankets, which was a nice bonus. Only thing to note is that we had a hard time getting hot water in the primary bedroom, but the other two rooms had hot water and better pressure, so we just showered there. Overall, it was the perfect spot for our trip and we’d 100% recommend it!

We had the most amazing time staying here with family. Perfect for the kids and the views are way better than the photos! Maikol the maintenance guy was FANTASTIC and was there when and if we needed him also maintained the pool and backyard every morning so we woke up to it clean. He was very responsive and we enjoyed speaking with him about Costa Rica. We will 100% be back! Thank you Special Places!

Our stay was extremely disappointing. The home was unclean upon arrival—dirty sheets, old food in the fridge, and unvacuumed floors. We hired a private chef recommended by the property manager, Special Places of Costa Rica, and I contracted salmonella from the meal. I spent an entire day in the hospital with severe dehydration. Despite medical evidence proving the food caused the illness, both the chef and the property manager refused to take responsibility. Additionally, they tried to charge an extra cleaning fee for our dog, even though the home was listed as pet-friendly, and the house was already filthy when we arrived. After requesting an extra night due to my hospitalization, Airbnb later accused us of squatting, adding to the stress of an already terrible experience. I strongly recommend avoiding this property due to unsanitary conditions and poor management.
