Villa Pochote

Welcome to our lovely coastal getaway, Villa Pochote. Located 10 minutes north from legendary Santa Teresa, just a quick drive to the surf of Playa Hermosa or a short walk to quiet Manzanillo Beach below, our home offers spectacular sunset and ocean views, a private pool and is the perfect blend of authentic Costa Rica and modern luxury. Recently remodeled, our 3 bed/2 bath boasts ample space to gather, a home gym, A/C in all rooms and fiber optic (200mbps). Pura vida! The space Villa Pochote is located 50 meters above sea level and just 150 meters from the beautiful beach of Playa Manzanillo and a nice walk or quick drive to the breathtaking beach of Playa Hermosa. I purchased the land surrounding Villa Pochote in 2001 and began gardening, planting and reforesting in 2004. The property has transformed from vines and brush for cows into walking trails and gardens with over 30 different type of native trees within half an acre (2000 meters) around the villas. I built my home, Villa Pochote, in 2006 and shortly added Villa Cocobolo in 2007 originally for friends and guests. Villa Cocobolo has since been remodeled and transformed into our craft brewery, Qué Mae Brewing Company, and also Koji’s’s Japanese Restaurant. Although we have a brewery and restaurant next door, Villa Pochote is our full time home, and we have gone to extraordinary efforts to maintain our privacy, but also have the benefits of two amazing local favorites close by. Villa Pochote has three bedrooms and two baths and is surrounded by the Pochote tree, the rare Gavilan, Guayacan and Cocobolo. Upstairs you'll find a full bath and 2 ocean view rooms - one with a queen bed , the other with a personal gym. Both rooms have access to a teak wood balcony via sliding glass doors that open to a sitting area for monkey, whale, and bird watching as well as ocean and sunset views. Downstairs there is a full bath and two bedrooms - one with ocean views and a queen bed, the other equipped with a full bed. The kitchen and entertaining areas open to a spacious patio accessed by sliding glass doors for more ocean viewing, plunge pool and garden access. Villa Pochote can accommodate up to 7 adults. The home has vaulted ceilings of Pochote beams with laurel wood paneling and the verandas, patios, stairs, door and window frames are all accented in teak. The villa comes completely furnished with a fully equipped and recently renovated kitchen, and is surrounded by lush gardens, gravel walkways, private parking, pressurized hot/cold water, smart TVs, high speed fiber optic (200 mps), air conditioning in every room, weekly cleaning service, gardener and laundry service if needed. One can always look out to the ocean and listen to the waves and take in the amazing sunsets, but if you take the time you can still see coatis, anteaters, porcupines, kinkajous, jaguarundis, white face and howler monkeys, various bird species, whales and iguanas.
