The Space
This single-story home features three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, offering a spacious and comfortable living environment. The open floor plan includes a kitchen, sunroom, and living room filled with natural light. An additional family room showcases vaulted ceilings and expansive wall-to-wall windows.
The property also includes a guest house with air conditioning, a kitchenette, and a full bathroom. The entire home is equipped with air conditioning units in the master bedroom, kitchen, sunroom, and casita. The two guest bedrooms do not have dedicated air conditioning, as the climate typically remains comfortable with nighttime lows around 60°F and daytime highs near 80°F.
Each private bedroom is tastefully decorated and supplied with fresh linens and towels. Bathrooms come stocked with organic toiletries. Family spaces feature smart TVs with cable service.
A dedicated home office area is bright and inviting, supported by high-quality WiFi with speeds of 200MB. Fiber optic internet is expected to be available soon.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all necessary utensils and appliances, ready for you to prepare meals. Additional services such as lifeguarding, babysitting, and cooking referrals can be arranged. A full-size washer and dryer are available onsite, and maid service can be requested for an extra fee.
Enjoy a private backyard filled with local flora and fauna, along with a refreshing pool. Security is enhanced by a motion-sensing camera with floodlights and an electric gate.
Location
The villa is conveniently situated 30 minutes by car or 45 minutes by bus from San José International Airport (SJO). The local house manager lives nearby to assist with any issues during your stay.

Guest Access
Guests will be welcomed by the house manager upon arrival. Parking is available in the carport, and the main house is accessible without any steps. The guest house has steps from the garden entrance but none from the carport.

Upon check-in, guests receive breakfast groceries sourced from the local farmers market and organic artisan toiletries for convenience and enjoyment.
The microclimate in Atenas features less sunlight and increased precipitation from May through October. Nighttime temperatures can be cool, so layers and blankets are provided to ensure comfort.

We found the house to be comfortable and clean. The pool is well kept and warm enough. It is solar heated. The outdoor photos are a bit older and are stretched a bit. Inside was clean and the kitchen stocked with appliances and utensils and had some staples upon arrival. One of the bedrooms in the main house had AC as well as the kitchen and the living room. If you ran the AC units along with the all the ceiling fans during the day the other 2 bedrooms cooled down enough to sleep ok. The guest house did have AC and a small kitchenette. The house was close enough to a grocery store and a few bars and restaurants to walk to within about 15-20 minutes as long as you don’t mind walking up hill. Attractions are 1-2 hours best done during the non rush hours of San Jose. During rush hours it can take an hour or more to get just 10-20 miles. Not the fault of the home but something to be aware of. The hosts were always quick to answer any questions and check in was easy.

I had a nice stay at this home. We enjoyed the many places to sit and relax inside and outside the house. Swimming pool was very nice.

The house and casita are even better than in the photos. Everything was very clean and comfortable. There were plenty of linens and kitchen items. The property feels very remote, but it is actually very convenient to town. The communication response was quick and easy. We are already planning our next stay!

El lugar es alejado de cualquier distracción, no hubieron molestias de vecinos. Todos los muebles y equipos estuvieron cómodos. Al llegar todo estaba completamente limpio. Recomiendo este lugar definitivamente.
