The accommodation offers everything you need for a stay of a few days. It was clean and well appointed. A car is recommended to reach the apartment. Communication with Maria was friendly, proactive and helpful.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this little house. The place was spotless and had all the amenities and utensils needed to make us feel at home. Everything is exactly as shown in the pictures. The location is excellent: it is far enough from downtown to enjoy tranquility, but not too far from the main attractions. Our hostess was exceptional. Her instructions were very clear from the start. She was always attentive, very friendly, and responded quickly to any questions. The beds are very comfortable, which made us rest wonderfully. I definitely recommend this place. We had an amazing experience and would definitely stay here again. Thank you for such a nice stay!

Todo es exactamente como se muestra en las fotos. La ubicación es excelente: está lo suficientemente alejada del centro de la ciudad para disfrutar de tranquilidad, pero sin estar demasiado lejos de las principales atracciones. Nuestra anfitriona fue excepcional. Sus instrucciones fueron muy claras desde el principio, siempre estuvo atenta, fue muy amable y respondió rápidamente a cualquier consulta. The rest of the spaces are the same as in the photos. Regarding the options in the area, our listing explains it well. We offer a cabin in a pleasant setting for resting or working. Usually, those who visit us bring their plans to visit tourist places. Regarding access, we will explain better that to get there you have to go up steep streets before entering the dirt road where all types of vehicles circulate without difficulty! The place was impeccably clean, beautiful and peaceful. I went there with my partner and my parents and we all loved it. Mayela helped us procure a delivery service for breakfast as we wanted local foods and she and her son helped us selflessly when our car got stucked. We felt safe and comfortable. I would recommend to anyone wanting to experience the Nicaraguan highlands or to anyone who wants some peace and calm surrounded by nature not too far from the city center of Matagalpa, it's a great location.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Mayela’s place just outside Matagalpa! Mayela was welcoming and the home was impeccable. The kitchen had everything you’d need for meal prep and cooking, there was drinking water, and Mayela shared bowls of cut fruit and bananas. The home had a nice living room up two steps from the good-sized kitchen where we watched tv, read and did yoga. We also had a little private terrace in the back off the kitchen, which was so nice as the weather cooled at night or for coffee in the morning. Our truck fit in Mayela’s fenced parking space and we felt very safe in this quiet neighborhood! There were walking paths right out our door for the dogs and we were very close to Reserva Apante where we hiked and bird watched. We cannot recommend this airbnb enough!

A fantastic place to stay in a beautiful tucked away part of Masaya. The house was super clean, comfortable and had all the amenities needed. The view was great and the surrounding wildlife made the stay one to remember. We had a small hire car which managed without issues the roads to the property. It's only the final 30 metres or so down to the property where it is a little more challenging but with a little patience it's no bother. The house Netflix account was a nice bonus too :)

The cabaña is perfect for couples or families that are interested in hiking the national park, which is really just a few minutes away! The cabaña was really spacious, the kitchen was nice and had everything you need, Maria is always around for help and very friendly. It’s a bit out of the city but that was exactly what we wanted as it’s more quiet and it is still easy to reach by car. 100 % recommend!

A place with a prime location a few minutes from downtown Matagalpa. It felt like being in the mountains and the city at the same time. Two days of stay were very little time to enjoy the house and its surroundings to the fullest, we definitely have a pending visit.

Great place to stay. very cozy, comfortable and clean

We stayed 2 nights as a group of 4 and this home worked very well for our visit to Matagalpa! The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, the beds were comfortable and the hostess is lovely and helpful. The home is secure and safe with parking for our vehicle in the gate too. There is a showered heater to get hot water too. It was comfortable, clean and a pleasant stay!

Mayela's place gets great reviews because it checks every box. The place is well designed - simple yet very tastefully done. She looks after every detail to make sure your stay is comfortable and secure. She welcomes you with fresh cut fruit, and provides for what you need:: purified water, fresh coffee, a safe place to park your car. While it's not in the heart of the city, it is very close to it, with quiet surroundings.  She is easily accessible, flexible, and helpful.  Would definitely go back again!

Maria was absolutely amazing, really friendly and helpful with questions. She lend us things to cook and even left us some cut fruits in the fridge. The house was very clean and is located in a calm and safe neighbourhood, but make sure you are a good driver since the road leading up to the place is very steep and can be a bit slippery after rain. The only thing that could be improved is warm water because it gets pretty cold in the night. When you want to turn on the hot water in the shower though, the pressure is so weak you can barely shower at all. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and had a good time! Thank you Maria

Our holiday was well spent. From the moment we arrived, Mayela’s place felt welcoming and warm. It is located within a secure compound, which gave us peace of mind. We especially loved that it is pet-friendly. Mayela and her son were very accommodating and helpful. The house creates an intimate and cozy environment, fostering a strong sense of comfort and security. We were amazed by its eye-catching architectural style. What I liked most was the kitchen’s functional and soft lighting, along with the lush patio where you can unwind. The medium-sized house is perfectly suited for four people. It also comes with an adequate garden space where you can park your car. We truly loved the place. Our evenings here were beautiful. Since the area is cool and chilly, there are some insects present, but overall it was a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. The place was perfect for relaxing and escaping the noise of the city. It was very cozy, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a peaceful getaway. Maria's casita was the perfect private peaceful place for us. Her son, an architect, designed the home, creating a quiet comfortable space. Photos don't do justice. Maria lives next door, available and very responsive to our needs. She's a kind, generous and thoughtful host, and gave us full privacy. One caveat, make sure you or your taxi driver is in phone contact with Maria in real time to reach the casita. It is high on steep and winding roads and for some reason Google maps sends you to a nearby but incorrect location. We had no problem getting there in the first place because Maria had spoken to our taxi while we were still in the city center. When a different taxi later came to get us, I used a reliable well-known app (which Airbnb won't let me name) to send our precise location to the driver, who nevertheless ended up somewhere else, a few minutes away. The driver sent me a photo of the location, which Maria recognized immediately. By phone Maria quickly got the taxi to us.

Literally everything was amazing! Mayela is so friendly, super accommodating, and the house was pristine! She was super helpful, everything was spotless and it's such a nice private place. The rooms were clean and large, the water pressure amazing and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a more than comfortable stay. I recommend everyone to stay here, as it is definitely a gem in Matagalpa. We really appreciate everything Mayela did, and she is a fantastic host.

My husband and I loved staying at Mayela's little house, a very cool climate with rain at this time of year, with places to walk nearby. Maria's casita, located slightly set back with a view of Matagalpa, was simply perfect! The place was very good with a small private courtyard allowing us to relax peacefully. Maria completely charmed us. She welcomed us with a good fresh mango juice and freshly cut fruit dishes. She gave us several recommendations on restaurants and places to visit nearby. We had a wonderful time at the casita with my spouse, me and our 6-month-old baby. If we could have, we would have brought Maria with us in our luggage. A very charming place and an equally charming host! We recommend the place:)

La casita de Maria située légèrement en retrait avec vue sur Matagalpa était tout simplement parfaite! Le logement était très bien avec une petite cours privée nous permettant de relaxer paisiblement. Maria nous a complètement charmés. Elle nous a accueillis avec un bon jus de mangue frais et des petits plats de fruits fraîchement coupés. Elle nous a donné plusieurs recommendations sur les restaurants et endroits à visiter dans les alentours. Nous avons passé un merveilleux moment à la casita en famille mon conjoint, moi et notre petit bébé de 6 mois. Si nous avions pu nous aurions amené Maria avec nous dans nos bagages. Un endroit très charmant et une hôte toute aussi charmante! Nous recommandons l’endroit :)

We loved staying at this place! The house was spotless! It offers a comfortable and cozy atmosphere with everything you need to feel at home during your stay. The description and photos that appear in the app are accurate. Mrs. Mayela was always very friendly and approachable, she gave us very good recommendations for places to visit. Every detail added to the experience, we would stay again and we also recommend it to others 😊👍

This cottage above Matagalpa is a peaceful gem! Surrounded by lush gardens and birdsong, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. The local host was incredibly kind—welcoming me with fresh coffee, pineapple, watermelon, and papaya—while also respecting my privacy. The space is clean, well-stocked, and great for short or long stays. WiFi worked well, the kitchen had everything I needed, and there’s a safe spot to park your car. You can sit outside with a cup of delicious local coffee and take in the flowers and views. Though it’s not in the city center, it’s just minutes away by car with a stunning view of the city lights at night. It’s also close to great hikes. I felt completely safe and at home—highly recommended!

Casita de Apante is a beautiful cottage like house in the hills of Matagalpa, it is located half a mile from the entrance of the Apante reserve. We felt very welcomed by our host Mayela, amazing and very nice host, she was always at our disposal, the house is very tidy and well equipped. As some reviewers mentioned, the road is a bit steep so taking a cab or bringing a car is recommended, but believe me the views from the apartment are amazing, had such a grey time there.

We had a lovely time in Matagalpa.  Matia was lovely and so ki d to us and our dog.

I was extremely satisfied with Mayela's stay, she is an excellent host. I'll summarize it this way: If it hadn't been booked the next day by other people, I would have stayed the rest of Holy Week, so next time I'll rent it 6 months in advance

We had a lovely time at Maria Mayela 's. the house is tastefully decorated and very well equipped, comfortable. two minutes drive from downtown, but already in the countryside surrounded by lovely gardens. Rainwater harvesting and plant compost and table scraps are interesting ecological initiatives that we also really enjoyed. Very pleasant stay!

Nous avons passé un très bon moment chez Maria Mayela. la maison est décorée avec goût et très bien équipée, confortable. a deux minutes en voiture du centre-ville, mais déjà en pleine campagne entourée de jolis jardins. La récupération d'eau de pluie et compost de végétaux et restes de tables sont des initiatives écologiques intéressantes qui nous ont aussi beaucoup plu. Très agréable séjour!

mayela made us feel right at home with her hospitality and kindness. the place is high up to get to but worth it. Definitely need a car or taxi and only a few minutes away from the main city and markets. I'd enjoy coming here again with friends and family.

Very cozy house, quiet terrace to sit down to talk and silence to read, rest of the accommodation comfortable, very complete and nice kitchen, secluded location from the city center, good choice for those looking to get away from the bustle.

If you are looking for a place to relax and be away from a noisy area but at the same time close to the city this is the place indicated in Matagalpa, also the house was super clean, Mayela is close to the house to help you in whatever you need, but at the same time there is a lot of privacy. We will definitely return. Making a delicious local coffee that Mayela offered us was wonderful!

Si buscas un lugar para relajarte y estar apartado de zona ruidosa pero a la vez cerca de la ciudad este es el lugar indicado en Matagalpa, además la casa estaba super limpia, Mayela esta cerca de la casa para ayudarte en lo que necesites, pero a la misma vez hay mucha privacidad. Volveremos definitivamente. Preparar un delicioso café local que Mayela nos ofreció fue maravilloso!
