Casa Makasi is a high-end ocean view villa located in the hills of Malpais/Santa Teresa on Costa Rica's Pacific Coast. Recently renovated, this tropical home offers exceptional ocean vistas and a gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the surf at Playa Carmen.

The villa comfortably accommodates up to eight adults. It is perched on a quiet hill surrounded by lush jungle and wildlife, with only a few neighbors nearby. The entire house is air-conditioned and connected with fiber optic internet (200 Mbps included, with higher speeds available for an extra charge).
Location
Casa Makasi is situated just a 4 to 5-minute drive from the town crossroads. It is only minutes from the white sand beaches and world-renowned surf spots of Playa Carmen and Playa Santa Teresa. Nearby, guests will find excellent restaurants, bars, and a variety of activities.

Guest Access
Guests have full privacy and access to the entire house and pool area. Caretakers live in a small studio near the parking area and may be encountered there.
Additional Information
- Special pricing is available for only two guests; please contact the host.
- A strong SUV or 4x4 vehicle is required due to a dirt road that can be steep in places.
- Please drive carefully and observe the 25 km/h speed limit on the road and in town.
- Maximum occupancy is eight people.
- The villa is constructed with natural materials such as wood doors, windows, and cana brava ceilings. Due to its jungle surroundings, some insects may be present; guests with a strong aversion to insects may want to consider other options.
- Internet and power outages may occur occasionally, especially during storms. A small generator is available to maintain internet during short outages. The host is not responsible for connectivity issues.
- Cleaning is provided three times per week, excluding Sundays and holidays.
- Assistance with organizing massages or activities is available upon request.
- No parties or loud noise are allowed outside the house. Please respect the quiet environment after 9 pm.
- Smoking is prohibited inside the house and on the terraces; it is only allowed in the parking area. Please do not dispose of cigarette ashes or butts in the indoor trash to avoid odors.
- Visitors or extra guests not approved by the owner are not permitted for safety reasons.
- Pets are not allowed unless specifically authorized by the owner.

Gorgeous, quiet location higher up on the mountain which is conveniently away from all the dust. 2 adorable dogs visited us on a few occasions. Spacious rooms with air conditioning in each one. Highly recommended for families or small groups.

Would 1000% recommend Lila’s ocean view home to anyone visiting Santa Teresa. It’s an amazing feeling to wake up with coffee and an expansive ocean view. It was so peaceful and quiet there, yet if we needed to head to town we were a short drive to restaurants and shops, and best of all beaches. Lila was a great host who was very responsive to our needs. Thank you for an unforgettable stay…one of the best AirBnB’s out there

Gorgeous view from the back of the house that overlooks the ocean. We enjoyed the warm salt water pool and the sunsets are incredible! The house was clean, private and comfortable and had almost everything we needed. (We did not have paper towels, laundry detergent, or ice. There is also only 1 blow dryer just so you know. ) Be aware that you will need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get up the steep dirt and rock road. The road was our only challenge, otherwise we cannot complain about a thing. There are beautiful birds and butterflies all over the property and there is a caretaker and his dog on the property who were both very friendly. The host, Lila, was very nice, responsive, and helpful. I would recommend staying here if you don’t mind the steep rough road getting up to the house… it is worth it.

Our stay at Lilla’s place in Costa Rica was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we booked, Lilla was extremely helpful and responsive—always quick to answer our questions and provide great local tips that made our trip even more special. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests having a great experience. The property itself was stunning, but what truly took our breath away was the view—honestly one of the best I’ve ever seen. Whether we were enjoying our morning coffee or winding down in the evening, the scenery never got old. It was peaceful, beautiful, and exactly what we needed to disconnect and recharge. Highly recommend this spot if you're visiting Costa Rica—you’ll be in great hands with Lilla, and the view alone is worth the trip!

We absolutely loved Lila’s place and would love to come back in the future. We already recommended to friends of ours with kids. The house is up on a hill and could be hard to get to without a 4x4 vehicle but the view of the ocean and peace and quiet being up above everything made it worth it. The drive to town was only 5 min. The house was beautiful and exactly as pictured. We loved having laundry available in the house, the place was spotless and cleaned every two days while we were there. Kid friendly with a crib and high chair provided. Lila was super helpful and responsive to questions.

This house has amazing views! It’s very peaceful and relaxing. The house is just as it looks in the photos. Excellent and communicative host. Friendly neighbors. Another benefit is the house is only 5 -10 minutes from the restaurants and beaches. Highly recommend!

We had the BEST week at Casa Makasi!! The house is amazing, so light and airy, the view is incredible, and it came fully stocked for us to truly feel like it was our home away from home for the week. The location of the house is amazing, too. It’s super close to the center of town with bars, restaurants, and grocery stores a few minute drive away, but when you’re at the house, it feels like you’re in the middle of the jungle surrounded by just nature. I highly, highly recommend Casa Makasi!

Casa Makasi is situated high on a hill over looking the Pacific Ocean. The views, especially the sunsets, were spectacular. The host was very responsive and helpful, and while she lives adjacent to the property, she respected our privacy and was not at all intrusive. It is a short drive to the all the lovely beaches, restaurants and shops of Santa Teresa. The house itself, while lovely, could use some updating. It is right by the the sea, so normal wear and tear is expected to be higher than average, but even still we were surprised that the house looked a little more worn than the photos we based the booking on. The owner is about to start some renovations and I believe this will all be addressed. We had some issues with the oven that the host was not able to rectify due to circumstances beyond her control, but she did provide an air fryer / toaster oven and was very apologetic.
