Casa Tranquila is perched atop a 100-foot hill just behind the beach, offering some of the most impressive views in the Palmetto Bay community while maintaining a high level of privacy. From the spacious private deck of over 1,000 square feet, which includes a private pool and hot tub, guests can enjoy sweeping ocean vistas looking west and north, along with a scenic view of the gently sloping hill below.
The Space
Palmetto Bay is a unique private eco-friendly beach community located on Roatan’s picturesque north shore and mid-island area. This region is known for its stunning array of turquoise and blue sea hues, distinctive to Roatan.
Casa Tranquila, completed in early 2023, was thoughtfully designed to maximize privacy and capitalize on the lot’s exceptional views. The home combines the island’s traditional high-ceiling architectural style with modern construction methods and boutique-style finishes, creating a harmonious blend of comfort and elegance.
Nestled within the jungle canopy on a private one-acre lot, the villa sits at the edge of a 100-foot bluff overlooking the crystal-clear waters and reef of Palmetto Bay. The great room features soaring 22-foot ceilings and a 24-foot-wide sliding glass door that opens directly onto the expansive deck, which includes a secluded pool and hot tub with breathtaking views of the ocean and reef.
Bedrooms
- Main bedroom: Opens onto the deck, includes a private bathroom, custom-built closets, and a king-sized bed.
- Second bedroom: Located on the opposite side of the home, also opens onto the deck, features custom closets and a king-sized bed.
- Third bedroom: Shares an exterior guest bathroom with the second bedroom, furnished with a queen bed and a twin bed in a spacious layout.
- Fourth bedroom (ground floor): Includes a queen bed and is adjacent to a second family/game room.
Guest Access
Guests have full access to the entire home except for a few locked owner storage areas.

Additional Notes
- For stays with only two guests, a price reduction may be available since guest bedrooms and their air conditioning would not be in use. In such cases, the air conditioning in guest rooms can be locked off.
- The hot tub can also be disabled upon request to further reduce the price.

What a gift this home was during our recent visit to Roatan. It was the perfect base for exploring at our own pace, and for my young adults to dive. Returning to this beautiful space with vaulted ceilings, beautiful floors, tastefully decorated rooms, whimsical artwork, and a beautiful deck as an outdoor space was a great way to recharge. Our favorite pastimes were playing pool, wading in the pool, and enjoying the views from the outdoor deck. The birder in our family loved watching the hummingbirds who fed on the beautiful flowers and his homemade sugar water. We even spotted a pair of yellow-naped parrots. The kitchen has everything you need for coffee, smoothies, and cooking any meal. Both bathrooms are beautiful. My husband and I absolutely loved using the outdoor shower, especially after our morning runs/walks. We loved the location, which is central to getting to West Bay (30 min), Wed End (20-25 min), and East End (50 min). Finally, the dive shop Scuba Roatan is right

Casa Tranquila was simply amazing. My wife and I have stayed all over the island and there is no where else we would rather stay. This home is absolutely beautiful with stunning jungle and ocean views. If you want a place where you feel like you have the entire area to yourself yet close enough to all the activities then this is the place for you. A short beautiful walk through the jungle and you find yourself at what feels like your own private beach. We couldn’t have felt more comfortable staying here and the home had every amenity you could ask for. Tom, Andrea and their property manager Carolina were extremely attentive and made sure we had everything we needed to make sure our stay was comfortable. We rarely leave reviews but this was one worth reviewing. I can’t recommend this home enough!

What a wonderful place. The beach, brewery, and restaurant all within 3 minutes of the house. The house was incredible. We loved the space, the pool, the view, the landscaping; it was all amazing. Thomas was very responsive and Carolina, the property manager, was an absolute treasure. She was there for us anytime we needed anything. This was a truly awesome home.

We have stayed in over 70 Airbnbs around the world and it is safe to say, Thomas’s place stands out as the best. The whole experience, personalization of the space, and overall comfort played a huge role. The whole family was happy, and the attention to detail just really made it feel like we could properly relax. Hope to be back again soon!!

Pretty fancy modern house up on the hill. Lots of hummingbirds coming by and an occasional parrot! There are only two bathrooms, but we managed OK with 10 people. Electricity was included, which was a bonus compared to some other places we've stayed in Roatan. beautiful art on the walls and very nice furniture.

We just stayed a week at Thomas's place with a family ages 6-70 and we all had an amazing time. the place is safe, comfortable and very easy to feel at home in. Carolina helped us pre stock the house and was there to meet us. the community beach and pool were prestine and we meet so many of the great people that call Palmetto Bay home! Highly recommend Thomas's place if you want a great place to stay on Roatan!

Amazing home, Amazing beach, Amazing location, Amazing host. Thomas' home was perfect for our week stay. We've stayed in a variety of places on the island and this was the best for everything you'd want. The house is very well equipped with everything you need. The private beach is large and beautiful. Thomas and Carolina were so helpful if we needed help with ANYTHING. And the hummingbirds were the best. Definitely would stay again and recommend.
