Road Conditions
- The final 9 kilometers (5.5 miles) of road leading to the Beehive is uneven and bumpy.
- This stretch takes about 20-30 minutes to drive.
- While a 4x2 vehicle with high clearance can manage, a 4x4 is recommended.
- The road has a solid stone base and is not muddy.
- A small creek crossing is part of the route.

The beehive was a very unique and pretty experience! With that said, due to the Royal jungle nature of the beehive, we did experience a quite a few power outages. Also, since you’ll be living in the jungle, expect there to be bugs in the household, even still, Esteban was very friendly and responsive to our issues and helped resolve them as soon as possible. He also gave us a refund for the issues that we encountered. It’s a great place for a large group looking for adventure. Just keep in mind, that the drive getting there is hard and on bad terrain, and it might be hard to get back-and-forth to experiences. But overall, it was a unique and exciting experience.

This place is beautiful and peaceful!! Esteban was very wonderful at communicating. The house had everything that we needed. The road to the place was not as rough as we thought it would be. Such a wonderful experience.

It was such a unique and wonderful stay in a truly magical place. Plus, Esteban was a fantastic host.....communicating before, throughout, and after to make sure we were all set and happy. He takes a lot of care to make it special.....from the amenities, to property, to setting you up for the stay. And while its not the easiest Airbnb to find/get to, he made sure to make it as easy as possible with directions, signs posted, and his great communication. It's about an hour away from Fortuna, which was perfect for us. We spent our days exploring Fortuna adventures, then felt totally and uniquely in our world before and after. The house architecture was so amazing, playful, and creative. The reading nooks were fantastic. Plus, because it was so peaceful, it ended up being our best night sleeps as well. Family of 5, with 3 kids. Loved it all. Highly recommend.

We hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf. Het is een kleine uitdaging om er te komen, maar het is het helemaal waard. Het huis is echt prachtig en heel bijzonder en het uitzicht is fenomenaal. We komen hier zeker nog een keer terug!

当我们抵达的时候正在下大雨,房东通过在线摄像头和我联系，解决了进门的问题，强烈建议不要天黑的时候到，要白天先熟悉路况，房子非常好，我们一家在里面非常开心，卫生干净，还有欢迎水果和红酒，不错👍

הנכס מקסים. אני משתמש הרבה שנים ב Airbnb וזה בהחלט היה הנכס הכי טוב שהייתי בו. הבית מדהים וגדול. הכל חדש וקיבלנו את המקום נקי ומסודר ביותר. ניצלנו את המקום המבודד לטיולים מקסימים. חשוב להגיד שהדרך למקום לא פשוטה בטח אם עושים אותה בלילה (ובגשם) אז צריך סבלנות ולנסוע לאט. שורה תחתונה -מומלץ בחום.

We had a wonderful time staying in The BeeHive! Although it is quite remote and a bit of a challenge to get there, It was quite a treat staying in the jungle and enjoying all the modern amenities, like WiFi, TV, lovely creature comforts like cotton sheets and down pillows and even a nice bottle of wine and some fresh fruit waiting for us when we arrived! All the extra touches really made our stay ‘extra’ special. We had the place to ourselves but you could easily accommodate at least eight adults if you wanted to. The view and the atmosphere of the area is amazing and if you’re looking for peace and tranquility, this is your place to come. It’s a very special spot and experience. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Really neat place that’s as special as the photos make it look. Esteban communicated well. Had trouble with the gate and heard him giving instructions via the camera/speaker. Only two bits of caution - OSHA would not approve of some of the eye and head-level corners those hexagons create 😅 and the road up is no joke. It was at the absolute limit of what my 2wd rental could scale. You smash through some vines and drive through a small creek which adds to the adventure. Worth it, though.
