The Space

This cozy one-bedroom tiny house is nestled under large shade trees, offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. From the screened porch, you can enjoy watching the daily parade of local wildlife. The house includes a queen-sized bed, a spacious bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen.

Located just a short walk from Playa Amarillo, one of Nicaragua's most beautiful beaches, the home provides easy access to surfing, sailing, fishing, and beach walking. Nearby, you'll find a small store for essentials.

The property is rural and authentic, with cows, horses, and occasionally a group of howler monkeys wandering nearby. Private internet is available, and transportation from the airport or other locations in Nicaragua can be arranged at an affordable rate.

Location

The tiny house is situated in a small community of friendly locals, just five minutes on foot from Playa Amarillo. This nearly undeveloped beach features a mile of white sand and a welcoming surfing community.

Within walking distance are the market, internet café, and various restaurants in Playa Gigante.

Local Attractions and Dining

Standing on the beach and facing the ocean:

• Turning right leads to a small hill called the Loma. At its base is Doña Lynn’s and the Gigante Spanish Language School. Doña Lynn prepares traditional Nicaraguan meals cooked over a wood fire. Check the whiteboard for menu options and confirm prices before ordering. They also offer cold beer; bringing your own bottle for trade can reduce costs.

• Turning left at the front fence and crossing the river brings you to Bar Cascada, which sells cold beer to go, tacos, burritos, and chicken dinners. Beer bottles are reused locally, so to avoid a deposit, take a bottle from the bucket in the largest chill zone nearby.

• At the top of the Loma is Monkey House, offering excellent food and a stunning view of the sunset and the beach to the north.

• Continuing south along the beach leads to Mirador Margarita’s, a beachfront restaurant known for some of the best fish dishes in town. The adjacent fish processing plant, owned by the same family, sells fresh fish.

Walking into town along the main road:

• Blue Sol offers Wi-Fi, TV, and an upstairs dining area.

• Across the street is an unnamed restaurant where Doña Cachita serves delicious meals, though service can be slow, so bring a good book.

• Next door is Eskimo Ice Cream.

• Across the street is Mar y Mar, serving typical Nicaraguan cuisine.

• About a block further is Room to Roam, considered the more upscale spot in town, popular on weekends with visitors from Managua. They offer a wide menu and quality drinks.

• Nearby is Juntos (pronounced "who n tos"), a Canadian-run bar and restaurant known for oven-fired pizza on Fridays and a focus on quality.

• Next to the hostel is Giant’s Foot Surf Tours, open to the public only on Mondays for Burger Night—arrive early to avoid the rush.

• Surfboard rentals are available throughout town; Doug at Salty’s Surfboard Rentals comes highly recommended.

Guest Access

Guests have full access to the tiny house and its screened porch. The community is welcoming and laid-back, providing a genuine experience of rural Nicaragua and its warm people. The staff are all local Nicaraguans who are friendly, helpful, and eager to assist.
