I definitely felt like luck was not on my side at this rental (and I have stayed at multiple airbnb's before). I booked this rental because it was stated that I would find peace and rest during my stay. The 1st day of arrival we noticed that it was alot of construction happening all around us, everywhere we looked it was construction(right beside the house). We were not notified of this inconvenience and it was not in the description for the airbnb home. It didn't bother me because I thought that they would work regular working hours so at night time they would be gone. Well I was wrong, they worked through the night and slept on hammocks. The 1st night there we noticed the TV and one of the toilets was not working. The host was very responsive and fix the situation pretty quickly. I was fine with the toilet not working because we had more than one bathroom but one of the bathrooms was outside and then you take the upstairs to get to it was. We did not use that bedroom because it was construction happening and we did not feel safe letting the kids sleep up there. The dirt road you take to get to the house is very bumpy and it takes at least 15 minutes to get there. There is a security guard at the beginning of the road but since it was so much construction happening he did not check anyone's ID, coming or going. The 2nd day all of the water had stopped working (the sink, the toilet, and the shower), none of it was working. It took until the next day for it to be fixed. I was told the water pump had broken so it needed to be replaced. The last day we were there I notified the host that it was a strong smell coming from the kitchen, so the the manager was sent over to fix the problem. I was told that there is no smell coming from the the gas stove and to make sure we don't accidentally hit a knob on the stove. We never even used the stove the whole time at this home. The problem also never got fixed. My husband work in construction and he said it could be the sewage smell coming from the drain. At this point I just didn't care anymore since we were checking out the next day. I did however ask for a partial refund through Airbnb app. The host never responded and I have yet to hear anything back from Airbnb. I don't think the house was worth the amount of money I paid.

The positive host experience I had is like I have never experienced. They are super accommodating and helpful and were available for any questions we may have had. The space and views from the terrace were beautiful. Very clean, very beautiful, and private. Thank you to Nadia and Leo for a wonderful stay!

The home is gorgeous and the pool areas is breathtaking. But the best part about this place are the owners. They literally go above and beyond and are reachable at all times. Leo got us a tour of an amazing cenote at the very last minute. I had accidentally left my snorkel gear there and he was able to return it to me. I had a bad case of food poisoning and he sent a house call doctor to me. It felt like I was staying with family. I highly recommend this place!

Casa Tankah is a hidden gem in Tulum! We enjoyed our stay, especially cooking as a family and enjoying the outdoor palapa and swimming pool. You almost don’t even need to leave! There is plenty to enjoy between the house and the beach (accessible easily via a short path at the front of the property). The only downside to the beach (and this was mentioned in the listing) is that the shoreline is pretty rocky, so use the water shoes that are there at the house (or if they don’t have your size, you can pick some up from the Chedraui down the road). Definitely rent a car so you’re mobile during your stay. Leo was an incredibly generous host, who not only spent considerable time helping us get settled and explaining things to do in the area, but was available throughout the week to help with some unforeseen issues, and even to advise on daytime excursions and activities. Would absolutely come back!

Our group of 5 enjoyed our stay at casa tankah. We rented a car so it worked out perfectly, just a heads up if your looking to head toward the hotel/touristy area the cabs can get pretty pricey. However, if you’ve got a car is very easy to drive around. We felt safe as it was a gated community and there were lots of things to do within a 10-15 min ride. The pool was wonderful and the AC worked perfectly. The wifi was a bit spotty but we have Intentional phone plans so it didn’t really affect us. All in all it was a great stay.

Amazing property located 10 min from Tulum. Highly convenient location, well-kept, clean, and such a chill property to lounge at during the day.
