Villa Poro Poro - Indo Avellanas Coastal Community - Houses for Rent in Playa Avellanas, Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica

The place was beautifully built and decorated along with the nature. We absolutely loved the pool and the atmosphere. You really feel like you’re in the great nature. There are a lot of good restaurants nearby. Our favorite restaurant was Manta! The beautiful Playa avellana beach is several blocks away. You could walk to the beach if you want to, but we usually drove to the beach because we wanted to bring chairs and coolers and didn’t want to walk carrying them. We really liked that this area was much more quiet and local compared to Tamarindo. The host also gave us great recommendations and information about everything in this area, which we really appreciated.

We had a wonderful stay! Very clutter free and wonderful views. We enjoyed seeing all the wildlife from the comfort of the living space. The pool was an excellent feature! Just a short drive from beautiful beaches, cafes, gelato, and amazing food! Villa Poro Poro is at the back of the property and offered the most privacy. That being said, the bathroom floor to ceiling windows have clear views of the other villa’s living spaces and the adjacent street (there are a few small wooden beams to obstruct the view). Just leave the light off when showering :D You will really enjoy your stay here! So happy we found it!

A beautiful home and an amazing stay! The house was stunning, spotless, and had everything we needed. The Trevor was incredibly helpful, with great local recommendations that made our trip even better. We’d happily stay again and highly recommend it!

Beautiful house and great place to stay. Only downside was the parking was very tight when you have to share with someone else staying in another villa. You can both fit but just barely. Also the showers and bathrooms have big windows to outside which is beautiful but feels pretty exposed when you’re taking a shower. If they added curtains like the bedrooms have that would be much nicer.

Great place. Only a few inconveniences, but would definitely book again. Host were great communicators.

Beautiful place and setting. Our kids loved the pool, house is beautiful. Only comment is that kitchen is pretty lacking in the amenities, made it difficult to do any real cooking. But I would still return based on everything else. Miguel was very responsive and a wonderful host.

Wonderful, quiet setting near beach with great amenities. Although minor, I would make sure there are always enough utensils and maybe even add a microwave  and toaster to the kitchen. Water pressure in showers needs attention. Parking challenging for 2 cars at Villa poro poro. Will I return, yes!

Tranquil and secure, a short drive to the beach. The near by beach has beautiful views on a hilltop but best to drive to Lola’s for sunset views and  ambiance.

We loved Trevor's house! It was just like the photos, the beds were super comfortable, the surroundings were beautiful and you could walk to the beach. There were many restaurants nearby, we especially liked Lola's. Thank you Trevor!

Beautiful home that is very clean and spacious. Area is a bit remote so definitely recommend renting a car, but we found it easier to walk to the beach most days because the roads are very narrow. We had a few minor issues during our stay but host was responsive and came to fix during our stay!

Space was very clean and modern with a nice private small pool to cool off in.  20 minute walk to swimmable beach. A couple restaurants about 15 minute walk. Miguel was great and very helpful! Our kids felt really comfortable there.

The host was attentive and communicated the instructions very well. The concept of the house allows you to enjoy the beauty of the forest and the many birds and monkeys that circulate there. It's extremely cosy. The proximity to the beach and the many restaurants make life easy :) And finally, we enjoyed the pool at the end of the day to cool off!

L'hôte était attentif et communiquait très bien les instructions. Le concept de la maison permet de profiter de la beauté de la forêt et des nombreux oiseaux et singes qui y circulent. C'est très confortable. La proximité avec la plage et les nombreux restaurants rendent la vie facile :) Et finalement, on a bien apprécié la piscine en fin de journée pour nous rafraichir !

The property is exactly as described and pictured. Very clean and inviting. This is one of our favorite Airbnb rentals. Super chill and beautiful little beach village right there. If you’re looking for a stunning property in a quiet, charming corner of CR, this place is fantastic. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Trevor’s Airbnb! The house was beautiful, clean and just as described in the listing. The Airbnb co-host, Miguel, welcomed us on arrival and was highly responsive throughout the stay, checking in several times to make sure we had everything we needed. The Airbnb was perfect for two friends traveling for vacation. The kitchen had all of the essentials, the house had plenty of linens and towels and the pool was refreshing and perfect for a quick break from the heat. You can walk to the beach easily (5 minutes) and to a few restaurants in 10-15 minutes (although the roads were muddy during our visit in the rainy season). We quickly realized we should rent a car and we highly recommend  this for Playa Avellana, although Miguel did connect us with a driver, just in case. We also recommend bringing ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper as the neighbors have chickens that are active early. We would definitely stay here again!

This place is phenomenal! Words can't describe how beautiful & immaculate this spot is. Miguel is the ultimate host, he has the best recommendations, he is always responsive, & he truly puts his guests first. The beach is walkable and there are a couple of restaurants within 3 to 5 minutes.  Highly recommend renting a car - it makes everything easier. Overall, this place is a true 5 out of 5 stars!!

The location is peaceful and relaxing, yet close to the beach and great local spots – ideal for both unwinding and exploring. We’d come back in a heartbeat – truly a top pick for families looking to spend a few memorable days in Playa Avellana!

This spot was frankly incredible. The architecture is stunning and the spot was immaculate. Absolutely everything was as described. If you’re looking for a peaceful place surrounded by nature and close the beach, this is your spot. All amenities were brand new, comfortable and clean, and Miguel was so welcoming and helped us get groceries and settle in. Highly recommend and plan to return asap!

Best stay! I had been to Avellanas before but staying at Poro Poro made the experience all the more better and felt like home immediately. The property is peaceful and feels private, but is very close to some amazing waves & coffee. Will be back soon, thanks for the amazing time!

Villa Poro Poro is a gem. The architecture is stunning—open, airy, and blends beautifully with the natural surroundings. We loved the high ceilings, wood details, and how the space flows between indoors and out. It felt like a true escape. The beach is just a short walk away, and the whole property has such a peaceful, well-designed vibe. Incredible restaurants and coffee shop nearby. We’d definitely come back.

Loved my stay at Poro Poro in Avellanas - the collection of 6 villas are exquisite with gorgeous design and beautiful surroundings. Avellanas and Playa Negra have such good food & beverage outlets and the surf is 10/10. Already planning our next trip here in a couple of months, when we are staying for at least a week to soak it all in. Great host - Trevor and Miguel were helpful whenever we needed anything. 100% recommended!
