Beautiful and well maintained property

My stay in Matapalo was one of the most unforgettable experiences I’ve ever had. The moment I arrived, I felt completely swept away by how breathtaking the house was. It was beautiful, calming, and seamlessly woven into the surrounding nature. Every night, I fell asleep to the sound of waves crashing in the distance and the soft hum of the jungle. It felt like my own private little sanctuary, tucked away in the quiet just steps from the beach. What made it even more special was the incredible care and attention to detail from the host. I could genuinely feel the love and thought put into every corner of the home, and it made my stay feel warm, personal, and truly cared for. This place is easily one of the most extraordinary spots I’ve ever stayed. Being there felt magical, peaceful, and deeply restorative. I’m already dreaming of coming back. Thank you 🙏🏻

Wir fanden es super schön. Absolut geeignet für Leute, die Ruhe suchen und gleichzeitig die Natur erleben wollen. Joel war super nett und hat uns bei allen Anliegen super gut weitergeholfen. Ein Paradies im Dschungel!

Joel was a fabulous host on every level - very responsive to every need, helpful and just an all around nice human being. The property is amazing - 5 star accommodations!

We had a great stay. The house is like living in the jungle. It’s great to wake up with the sound of the animals and the sea. Joel has been outstanding. He was always there to help us, communicated the whole time with us and recommended an amazing tour operator for our tour to Corcovado. Our car wheel had a puncture on the way to Corcovado and the car was towed away as Avis never gave us a spare wheel ( even though we had asked). They had also given us a car that was two levels below the one we had booked and paid for. After the car was taken we were stranded ( still waiting to this day for a new car or communication from Avis). Joel was so kind phone them for us and eventually ( after three days) to take us to puerto juminez to get a new car from Alamo. He was absolutely amazing. Thank you for an incredible stay. (P.S. never book a car with Avis in Costa Rica)

Wir hatten traumhaft schöne Tage in diesem Haus. Die offene und gleichzeitig großzügige Architektur gibt freien Blick auf den schönen Garten und das Meer. Es ist toll, Aras und Affen zu beobachten. Zum Glück kann man Essen im abschließbaren Schrank und im Kühlschrank vor den Affen sichern. Der Strand ist wunderschön, auch wenn man besser nicht ins Meer gehen sollte, da es zu steinig ist und die Wellen krachen. Aber man kann sich bei Niedrigwasser in den Gezeitenpools abkühlen und die Umgebung genießen. Strände zum surfen oder schwimmen sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Im Haus ist alles sehr komfortabel. Auch bei Regen kommt man gut zurecht, da das Haus immer viel Platz bietet, der trocken bleibt. Die Küche lässt sich gut benutzen und ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Ein wenig mehr Licht über dem Ofen wäre praktisch. Joel hat uns perfekt empfangen und während unseres Aufenthaltes unterstützt - vielen Dank! Für die Anreise sind ein 4x4 Fahrzeug und Tageslicht unabdingbar.

An absolute dream. Super comfortable house in the middle of the jungle and in front of the ocean. Not for everyone, you really need to be comfortable with animals and you’ll need a 4x4. Joel was welcoming and helped us a lot. Recommended!

What a beautiful secluded place to stay! It’s a 5 minute beautiful walk to surf! The sounds will stay with you and so promise that you will be sad to leave. A bathtub in the middle of the jungle!?! Yes, please!!!! Jose and Joel are the sweetest kindest humans that you could ask to make your stay that much sweeter! Te amo todo!!!
