Experience rainforest serenity in this 4BR Costa Rican hacienda with stunning jungle views, a large pool, and a pavilion bar. Just minutes from beaches and wildlife-rich Esterillos Este.
The Space
Escape to the rainforests of Costa Rica and unwind to the natural sounds of wildlife. This spacious hacienda is nestled on 1.5 acres of lush gardens, offering large common areas for relaxation. Just beyond the house, you'll find a very large pool and the villa's centerpiece: the grand pavilion. This pavilion features a sizable bar and kitchen area along with two private bathrooms, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a drink while observing playful monkeys.
Location
Situated in Esterillos Este, this property provides a perfect balance of privacy and convenience. It is close enough to amenities yet far enough to feel secluded. Beaches are only minutes away, offering activities for the entire family.
Esterillos Este is located about 45 minutes before Manuel Antonio, making it a central base for exploring surrounding destinations. While Manuel Antonio National Park is world-renowned and highly recommended, Esterillos offers a quieter place to stay with easy access to the park and other attractions.
Wildlife
The property is home to Titi monkeys (squirrel monkeys) that typically sleep near the banana trees beside the house. These monkeys wake at sunrise and travel to nearby jungles, returning in the evening to feed on palm fruits and nest in the bushy palms. They are entertaining to watch but keep their distance. Guests are kindly asked not to feed the monkeys to avoid altering their natural behavior.
One of the favorite pastimes here is relaxing by the pool or under the thatched roof pavilion in the evening while watching the monkeys play.
Beaches
Esterillos boasts some of the closest tranquil beaches to San Jose International Airport. The pristine and usually uncrowded beaches of Esterillos are just a short drive from the house—less than five minutes to Esterillos Este beach.
Early visitors might find sand dollars and unique shells along the shore. Between September and October, it’s possible to spot whales in the distance. During turtle mating season, you may notice turtle tracks leading to nests. If you discover a nest, please leave it undisturbed and inform Jorge, the local surf instructor in Esterillos Oeste, who manages the turtle rescue program.
Jorge’s surf shop in Esterillos Oeste can provide information about upcoming turtle hatchings. Watching baby turtles make their way to the ocean is a remarkable experience.
Tides and Surfing
Esterillos is known as a surfer’s beach, attracting world-class surfers. The waves are enjoyable but can be hazardous, so caution is advised, especially with children. Understanding riptides is important for safety.
For calmer waters, visit Esterillos Oeste near the mermaid statue, where tide pools offer warm, gentle water. The best time to watch surfers is at high tide just before sunset at Esterillos Oeste beach. Checking tide charts online is recommended.
Watching surfers at sunset here is a memorable experience.
Nearby Amenities
Just five minutes from the house is Town Center, featuring a variety of restaurants, shops, and a small grocery store with an ATM. For a more authentic local experience, Esterillos Oeste offers additional grocery stores, restaurants, and bars.
One notable dining option in the area is Los Almendros, considered one of the best restaurants on this side of Costa Rica.

Guests have full access to the entire property.

We really enjoyed our time in Costa Rica. The property is huge and there is a lot of wildlife to be seen right in the backyard. We used the pool every day and the basketball court. Brian also hooked us up with a personal chef. Yami and her friend were wonderful. They took really good care of us. Brian also provided us with a ton of information prior to the trip.

Brians's house was wonderful. We had 9 people staying and it gave us enough beds, baths and areas for all of us to spread out. The outdoor area was amazing to hang out, cook, eat, swim and relax. Also, the property has many monkeys that come and go. We also saw Tucans, macaws, and iguanas! Our family made wonderful memories!

What a wonderful place! We were a large group- 4 adults and 10 little kids. There was plenty of space for all of us. The outdoor area is amazing! The pool is wonderful, the hammocks, the basketball court, etc. There were monkeys and coatis and toucans and macaws, etc. right on the property. There is a wonderful beach close by. Manuel Antonio, Jaco, restaurants, chocolate factory, rainmaker- all drivable. There were clear instructions for the house and recommendations for the area. The host was very kind and always responded right away. I never felt unsafe- was just able to relax in paradise. I just cannot say enough about how much we loved staying here.

What an amazing place! It was perfect for our family and it had everything we needed for an unbelievable stay. Brian was an ideal host; great communicator, friendly, helpful and full of A++ recommendations. *He even went out of his way to help us track down a friendly and knowledgable (and local, much closer than Quepos & Jaco) fishing guide...even though Brian isn't versed in the local fishing community. This home's layout was ideal for 2 families, essentially separated with kitchen/living areas and wings with bedrooms on each side. What a cool property in general...one that we will talk about and cherish for years to come! Thank you!

It is a very good property, it is like it looks in the pictures. If you want a place to stay at the beach but at the same time have a touch with nature this is the place. Bejuco Beach is 5 minutes away, best sunsets in town. Don't doubt to book this place. Pool 5 stars, incredible for kids and adults. Kitchen 5 stars, 100% equipped. Communication 5 starts, Host and Co-Host always available for help.
