My husband and I just stayed here with a few friends to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The house was Great for a mixed group of people with an amazing common area for socializing. Like most places on the island, the house has a few quirks with a few sticky locks or rusted hinges, but that's to be expected with such a humid, salt water climate. Nothing took away from our enjoyment of the house and we would totally stay here again. The pool was a dream to be able to cool off (it's heated!) and the shaded living room had a great cross breeze if you opened up the patio doors for the sea breeze to come through. We hired Maxi to cook us all a dinner one night and it was so great! She even did breakfast the next morning as a treat. She is the sweetest thing, and although my Spanish and her English aren't great, we were still able to communicated just fine. The hosts were very responsive to our questions and we appreciated our stay very much!! Hope to visit this great house again.

Walking in we felt the place was magical! It is a special and unique home right on a seemingly private beach. We loved the open air concept to view and hear the ocean from the living space. With the doors open the ocean breeze kept the place nice and cool. Daily someone napped in the hammock. We all enjoyed the privacy of the pool and that it is salt water. The balcony was enjoyed by all of us, and you can watch the sunrise from the master bed. Each space was beautifully decorated and spacious for us and our four adult children, with their own outdoor living space on the second floor to enjoy game nights. There a many levels of outdoor space with beautiful views in every direction. A five minutes walk has some great restaurants, our favorite La Patrona. You can walk out and easily flag down a taxi or Lupita will arrange for a short drive anywhere. Lupita had a golf cart delivered and picked up, which was a great convenience. Absolutely recommend experiencing Casa Magi Azul!

The house was absolutely beautiful— looked just like the photos. Getting into the house was easy. The hosts helped to arrange a golf cart, a day excursion to Isla Contoy, in house massages, as well as a stocked fridge. We had their housekeeper Maxi cook a meal for us our second to last night, and we wished we had done it earlier in the trip! She was so incredibly sweet and made us a delicious meal. Highly recommend— it was an incredible honeymoon trip.

Magi Azul was the perfect choice for our group. The house itself is beautiful and the location is ideal. We have been traveling to Isla for many years and have watched the island change. We have always stayed somewhere on Playa Norte, but it has gotten very busy and touristy. Staying mid-island allowed us to have more of a local experience and still enjoy the beautiful beaches during the quieter times. Lupita and Maxi were wonderful. Lupita was incredibly helpful with local recommendations and our transportation logistics. Maxi made us a wonderful breakfast and we fell in love with her salsa and guacamole!! We love the design of the house and spent many hours just hanging out by the pool. The house had the right amount of space to allow us to hang out together or find quiet space, if needed. The parents and the teenagers had the best time!!

The house itself is beautiful and is beautifully decorated. You will not regret having the private paradise courtyard and pool for quiet afternoons between island excursions. It’s nice to be in the center of the island away from the crowds but still accessible to all the things to do. The living areas are very much outside, even the covered portions, so expect a little more rustic and exposed feel. The place could use a few newer items. The street noise at night from passing cars and carts is audible at night but our white noise machine solved that and we slept comfortably. Bedrooms and bathrooms are beautiful and well appointed. The beach is beautiful but the balconies to sit outside and enjoy it are not as appealing. The responsiveness from the concierge and property management team was A+ from beginning to end.

We absolutely loved it! I will be rebooking this house in the future. It was exactly what I was hoping for. The house has such a perfect breeze flowing through it. It was very close to the ferry as well as shopping and restaurants. It's a short cab ride or golf cart ride to town. Looking forward to returning next year.

We had a great stay at Casa Magi Axul. The location was perfect for us, a short ride anywhere in either direction! The house was beautiful, pool was great, great views! Property management was responsive with any issues, delivery of water etc. Would stay again for sure!

The owners and house manager were very responsive. Both made efforts to resolve issues we had during stay. The architecture of the house is cool. The rock and wood construction reflects essence of the Riviera Maya. However, the photos in this listing are deceiving. Beach doesn’t look like that anymore. The exterior photo of the house makes it look like the house is secluded, atop a bluff. In reality, the house is in an area where the houses are right next to each other. It is also on a very busy, very noisy street. We couldn’t sleep at all. To our surprise, there was no ground-floor, communal outdoor space that faces the ocean. The only space with furniture to see the water is a small patio that is off the primary bedroom. Yes, you have to walk through a bedroom to access it. Not good for groups. If you want to enjoy the beach, this house is a no-go. (No beach chairs either.) And the kitchen was dirty despite daily maid service. House hasn’t been updated/refreshed in a long time.
