The Space
El Descanso is a beautiful beachfront house surrounded by nature, offering spacious and cozy living areas. Ideal for a family vacation or a remote work retreat, this oceanfront home provides everything needed for a memorable stay. It comfortably accommodates up to 14 guests. There are four bedrooms in total. The master bedroom includes a queen bed, a private bathroom, and a separate workspace. The other three bedrooms each have a queen bed plus a bunk bed with two single beds. All bedrooms have air conditioning. Common areas do not have air conditioning; however, the proximity to the sea, spacious layout, and ceiling fans keep these spaces cool and comfortable.
The house also offers a modern, fully equipped kitchen, indoor and outdoor living rooms, dining areas, and a small office.
Location
Playa Tivives is situated approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from San José and the Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). The area is home to a biological reserve, creating a lush and tranquil environment perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beach and ocean.
Wildlife and Surroundings
Guests can observe various bird species such as pelicans, seagulls, and parrots on the property. Occasionally, macaws and squirrels visit to feed from the almond tree located on the grounds.

Hermosa casa frente al mar, perfecta para un tiempo en familia. Jose fue sumamente amable, atento y disponible siempre para asegurarse de darnos un buen servicio. La casa es amplia, cómoda y tiene todo lo necesario para sentirse en casa. La zona de la piscina y el rancho, justo frente a la playa, es el spot perfecto para disfrutar del sol y de la casa. Esperamos volver pronto!

Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans cette superbe villa. L’espace extérieur est un véritable atout : les différents salons de jardin et les grandes tables permettent à tout le monde de profiter. Mention spéciale pour les couchers de soleil, qui sont tout simplement spectaculaires. et la piscine est chaude e La maison est réellement conçue pour le confort des voyageurs (nombreux crochets, serviettes de bain et de plage fournies, etc.), ce qui rend l'expérience très fluide et agréable. Quelques conseils pour les prochains visiteurs : Cuisine : condiment minimaliste (sel et sucre uniquement). Pensez à apporter vos épices, huile et autres condiments. Vie locale : Comme souvent dans la région, les fourmis sont très présentes, même avec un ménage impeccable. Soyez vigilants à ne laisser aucune nourriture traîner. Sécurité plage : Attention, les courants sont très forts sur toutes les plages du secteur (baïnes). Surveillez bien les panneaux. Nous retournerons les yeux fermés à la villa

Excelente lugar... todos los que fuimos logramos literal descansar; dormimos un montón. Lo recomiendo mil por mil a adultos... con niños pequeños hay que estar muy pendiente tema de piscina y acceso playa más si hay un niño medio escapista.... pero de verdad lo recomiendo volveremos pronto!

We enjoyed the home, fit our family, the outside pool/bbq area was fabulous. The location is rural but we enjoyed the location and culture.

A great place to stay! Tivives is a small village with one restaurant and a mini mart, so it felt very private and relaxing. The restaurant is great and the people are friendly too. The house is right on the beach, and the outdoor space is what makes it so great. The outdoor kitchen and pool are where we spent almost all of our time, it was a nice view. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and cooking instruments, just make sure to bring your own oil and seasonings. Overall, had a great time relaxing here and I’d recommend the house!

Tuvimos una excelente estadía en esta propiedad. Todo estaba tal cual se mostraba en las fotos, muy limpio y cómodo. Mi familia la pasó genial y Jose, el anfitrión, fue súper atento y amable en todo momento. ¡Recomendadísimo!
