The Space
Your private hilltop immerses you in the best that San Carlos, Costa Rica has to offer, with panoramic views of volcanoes, mountains, lakes, and natural scenery.
There are two main bedroom buildings separated by a large pool and hot tub, accommodating up to 14 guests.
La Casa de la Montana (3-level villa)
- Top level (Family suite): Air-conditioned family suite with a king-size bed, a separate area with three twin beds, an additional single bed in another space, and a sitting area with a small table.
- Mid level (Dalia and Hugo suite): Two air-conditioned suites featuring balconies all around and a central sitting area.
- Bottom level (Kitchenette suite): Studio with kitchenette, double bed, and air conditioning.
Villa Laurel (2-level villa)
- Upper level (Vista suite): Large balcony overlooking the pool and volcano.
- Lower level (Garden suite): Opens to an open kitchen and dining area; includes a garden bath with tub and shower.
Both levels in Villa Laurel are air-conditioned, have full bathrooms, king-size beds, and showcase distinctive character.
A private massage area is available on the lower level of the Guava Bungalow.
The entire mountaintop is exclusively rented to your group, ensuring a private and memorable experience.
Guest Access
Guests have full access to the entire mountaintop and farm areas, including:
- Large private pool with volcano views
- 40-meter lap pool
- Hot tub
Explore the hill and nearby surroundings, including a papaya plantation and the Arenal River, which are a short hike away.
Villa Laurel, located next to the pool, features a fully equipped kitchen, TV, and dining/gathering space with spectacular views.
Near the entrance on the left side of the mountaintop is the Reception Gazebo, which includes a large kitchen, dining table, and seating areas—perfect for gathering with loved ones while enjoying mountain vistas.
This tranquil setting is ideal for relaxing after activities such as zip lining, white water rafting, hiking, or nature tours. Breathtaking views can be enjoyed from every vantage point on the mountain.
Additional Information
- A large open field at the mountaintop provides ample space for outdoor games and activities.
- Down the hill is a shop gallery called El Turul, where guests can meet the staff and receive a 10% discount on souvenirs.
- All villas are accessible by stairs except the Garden suite on the first level of Villa Laurel, which has no stairs.
- The property is home to two pet dogs and two pet cats that remain outside the bedrooms.
- The watchman, Juan, resides down the hill near El Turul.
- The owners live on the bottom level of the Reception Gazebo.

We loved our stay at the Zen farm. 3 families, plenty of space and gorgeous views. We loved the daily breakfast that was arranged. Also very much appreciated being able to stay and use the pool even after our check out time. Only minor issue was the loud trucks overnight that could be heard and affected the light sleepers.

one of the best AirBNBs we stayed at. Amazing location, great views of Arenal Volcano. just a few minutes from La Fortuna town. Mario and all staff members were really great with communication. Breakfast provided was excellent. They also cooked a dinner for one of the nights and it rest really good. They took care of if dietary needs as our whole group was vegetarian.

Great centralized location to explore the rainforest and volcanos. True outdoor living it felt like being a part of the rain forest. Perfect for large groups of people!

The pictures don’t do this place justice. Stayed with a group of 15 friends who were stunned with the place. The hosts were great and even left us a papaya in the morning. La Fortuna is a magical place and I highly recommend this place!

Absolutely stunning views, beautiful pool and wonderful homes. The location was perfect just outside of the hustle and bustle, we woke up to birds every morning, but very close to town and sights. Four our group of 4 adults and 6 kids this worked great. We arrived at night so it was a bit of a challenge to figure out how to park etc...recommend arriving during the day. every room had a bathroom, and great views!

Mario was incredibly responsive and one of our favorite parts was when he took us on a tour of his pineapple and papaya farms. The space was gorgeous, even though it rained a lot. Our hot tub was not working and he did his best to fix it. There is a loud road where trucks loudly shift at night and the rooster crows at 4:30 a.m. sharp, but that is outside of his control. The spaces were peaceful and plentiful. There were lots of bugs and salamanders and bats, all part of being in nature. The starts were incredible at night. We had 5 teenagers and 3 adults and we were delighted with our stay.

This is a beautiful landscape. Mario and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed breakfast and lots of local delicious fruit. Mario allowed our children to milk a cow and took us for an adventure in his Papaya field. The only negative is that there are two kitchens and kitchen cooking supplies are spread out making meals a little more challenging. When issues did arise our host was very quick to assist. Very family friendly with beautiful views. The pool area is amazing with a very large deep pool. Town and local attractions are easy to get to.

An outstanding location! Arenal even decided to come out of the clouds on our last day. Kids LOVED the pool and hot tub. Rooms were great. Certainly a memorable stay.
