The Space
Casa Cantamar is a beachfront villa featuring five bedrooms and five bathrooms, creating a classic coastal retreat. It is conveniently situated between two international airports—approximately one hour from Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) and 1.5 hours from Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR).
The villa includes two half bathrooms and an outdoor shower located next to the pool and spa area. Start your mornings with coffee on the front balcony while watching the sunrise, and unwind in the evenings with a glass of wine on the private veranda overlooking the beach at sunset. The nearly secluded beach offers the perfect setting for peaceful sunset walks.
If you bring a surfboard, you can step out the back door to catch waves alongside local surfers. The property lies about 30 miles from Jaco, and the ferry to Tambor is less than a 15-minute drive away.
During the weeks of Christmas, New Year's Eve, and Easter, a minimum stay of seven days is required.
Guest Access
Guests will receive one key that opens both the front door and the pool gate. Additionally, a remote control for the electric gate is provided for easy access.
Amenities and Additional Information
- The villa’s interior bathrooms are equipped with hot water heaters.
- Please note that the pool shower and outdoor bathrooms do not have hot water.
- Four of the main bedrooms feature air conditioning.
- The fifth bedroom, which contains bunk beds, is cooled by a ceiling fan and does not have air conditioning.
- Guests are kindly asked to return all outdoor furniture to its original positions.
- Please ensure the air conditioning units are turned off before departure.

We had a great time and loved the ocean and pool! We even saw macaws in the backyard on the first night. This worked great for our family of eight stay in Costa Rica

Staying at this location has been nothing short of wonderful. The house is beautiful, incredibly spacious, and equipped with everything you could need. There are also many shops and stores conveniently located nearby. Bruce is a fantastic host—very accommodating, responsive, and informative throughout our stay. Joel and his wife, the on-site caretakers, are truly amazing people who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Bruce also recommended a local guide for tours and sightseeing. Arturo turned out to be exceptional—friendly, knowledgeable, and fully dedicated to making sure your experience is the best it can be. If you stay here, be sure to ask about him. I would highly recommend staying here—you will not be disappointed.

The house was very spacious inside and outside. Our kids had a great time playing soccer on the field then jumping right into the pool to cool off. There is a constant breeze with the doors open so we never missed the AC. AC in the bedroom at night instantly cooled. The beach was too rough for us as we aren’t used to the pacific but it was beautiful. Bruce thank you! We had an amazing family vacation
