The Space
The Dominical Adventure Treehouse is perched 300 feet above the ocean, offering expansive, unobstructed views of the Pacific. The property features several unique outdoor platforms, including a wildlife viewing deck facing south—ideal for morning coffee—and a sunset yoga platform looking west along the coast, perfect for watching the sun dip below the horizon.
Guests can cool off in the infinity plunge pool or relax in the shaded open-air common areas surrounded by lush vegetation, flowers, trees, and banana plants. The property provides numerous tranquil spots to unwind, creating a serene retreat atmosphere suitable for couples or small groups who appreciate personal space. Every platform, room, and outdoor area boasts a view of the Pacific Ocean.
Located within a gated community of 13 homes, the property is a short 0.25-mile downhill walk to the Pacific Coast Highway and less than 1 kilometer from downtown Dominical—a quiet surf village with excellent restaurants, a grocery store, a spa, and more.
A separate structure on the property is currently under renovation, but no construction occurs while guests are staying. The owner’s other listing, "Las Plataformas," includes the same main space plus an additional guesthouse, ideal for an extra couple or those seeking more privacy. When either listing is booked, both are blocked to ensure no other guests are on-site. A caretaker resides in a fully separate building on the grounds.
Accommodation Details
The treehouse spans three open-air levels:
- Master bedroom with air conditioning, a king-size bed, and an adjacent full bathroom.
- Upstairs teak-lined room with a queen-size bed and an adjacent full bathroom.
- Main kitchen level featuring two additional double mattresses in an open-air space.
- Fully equipped kitchen.
- TV with cable and Wi-Fi for connectivity.
The lot is steep and overlooks a vast Pacific Ocean panorama. Except for the air-conditioned master bedroom, the house is open-air, immersed in a wild rainforest environment.
Important Notes About the Environment
This rainforest setting means:
- Frequent rain, especially in September and October, but showers can occur any time of year. Items left on balconies, such as laptops, may get wet if not properly stored.
- Presence of various insects. It is recommended to apply bug spray in the morning and reapply in the afternoon, especially on ankles.
- Food storage requires care. Sugar containers must be sealed airtight to avoid ants. Even small spills like jelly residues can attract ants. Bread and other food items should be kept in provided Tupperware or hung in plastic bags.
- Wasps may build nests quickly, often near the shower. While they generally do not disturb guests during showers, the caretaker will remove nests upon request.
- Larger wildlife such as monkeys, toucans, sloths, and iguanas frequent the property and may help themselves to fresh fruit like bananas and mangoes.
Arrival Recommendations
Guests are encouraged to arrive before dark if possible. The property is located about four hours south of San Jose, and sunset in Costa Rica occurs early, around 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. Arriving during daylight hours with the caretaker present helps guests familiarize themselves with the space.
Guest Access and Caretakers
The owner does not stay on-site. Caretakers Julio (Spanish speaker) and Ronald (some English) are available to assist with any questions or issues.
This property is best suited for travelers comfortable with a bit of rustic living, self-reliance, and overseas travel. Those willing to embrace this will be rewarded with breathtaking views in a genuine tropical setting.
The entrance gate to the property is not visible from the house. A recently installed electric gate automatically closes securely about 45 seconds after opening.
Transportation and Access
The short climb from the Pacific Coast Highway to the property is very steep. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended. Most two-wheel-drive vehicles can reach the gated community entrance, but walking up with gear or surfboards is physically demanding.
Airport pickup and delivery can be arranged through Wild-Rider.

Nous avons passé près d’une semaine dans la maison dans les arbres. Vue incroyable, la table de ping pong, la piscine, le terrain, la terrasse dans l’arbre ont rendu notre séjour parfait. C’est une expérience incroyable. Il faut toutefois être à l’aise de vivre avec la nature dans le sens où la cuisine est extérieure et les chambres sans climatisation sont accessibles aux insectes! Mais ce n’était pas un problème pour nous, nous nous y attendions. Près de Dominical et ses bons restaurants. Je recommande vivement à ceux qui recherchent une expérience au grand air.

Beautiful unique place to stay wonderful views, beautiful landscaping if you’re skittish of bugs might not be quite for you. It is kind of like grand camping, but such a unique experience. I personally loved it. The bird cage tree house was a wonderful spot to view the Pacific Ocean and the toucans that frequent the property.

Absolutely amazing stay in exactly what was advertised! I’ve stayed in air b&b’s around the world and have never had an owner personally call me prior to my stay to tell me about the place. It made it so much more personal and welcoming. Jeremy gave me local hot spots and told me about the house. Uvita was great. Whale watching was an amazing experience. We missed out on Cano island this trip but will definitely make it next time. The zip line tour with Uvita Paradise Adventures is absolutely worth it!! Already want to plan the next trip.

Amazing place! The host was very responsive and helpful. The treehouse was perfect for our family. Our kids enjoyed all the wildlife. The views are absolutely amazing. We all loved the rain and watching the thunder over the ocean. We want to return and stay longer next time!

Incredible location with great views of the ocean. A truly special architectural tree house. It is clear that the owner has put his passion and creativity into designing a special place. There are numerous activities and waterfalls within easy driving distance. Dominical has some great little restaurants as well. We will be recommending to our friends!!

This treehouse - just WOW! Our group of 4 had such a wonderful time with this unique experience during our time in Dominical. The house itself and surrounding vistas are stunningly beautiful, and the town of Dominical (a very short jaunt away) is charming and had everything we needed for a vacation full of relaxing and adventure. Jeffrey and the staff of the house were so proactively communicative, and responded to any questions we had right away. If you're looking for a one of a kind experience in Costa Rica - I could not recommend Jeffrey's treehouse enough. Pura vida!

An incredible place with amazing design. We stayed at the tree house for a few days and I would have been content to spend a week or month there. Clean, incredible views, unique, away from the higher tourist areas of Costa Rica. In my mind I was trying to think how I could replicate the house on the coast of Maine when I can retire someday. Loved the outdoor cooking venue. Great communications and wonderful stay. Highly recommend.

The treehouse is truly an amazing experience. We watched sunrise and sunset from the lookout platform and it was truly spectacular. The kitchen was awesome and had everything we needed. Bedrooms and bathroom were clean. It was also so fun to see the wild life so close up. (Toucans, monkeys, iguanas). That all being said - it is not easily accessible re getting to Dominical. The driveway up is extremely steep and you should 100% both have a car and be comfortable driving the car on super steep roads if you stay here. We last minute didn’t end having a car and Jeffrey was extremely gracious in helping us get back and forth to the treehouse, but it ended up costing us a lot of time and energy. ( so stay only if you have a car!) All in all though, it’s a spectacular house to really be in the jungle and you can really see the work that Jeffrey has put into the place!

Our friends wished they had stayed in Dominical instead of Manuel Antonio after their visit to the town so we adjusted plans for our trip and we made the best decision. By staying at the Treehouse instead of a typical hotel or house in Manuel Antonio (stones throw away) we gave our kids and ourselves the memory of a lifetime. Each day our daughter wanted to call her friends and tell them that we were staying in an actual treehouse. This is no standard treehouse, though. It felt first-class considering we were essentially sleeping outside albeit with screened in comfort. The open spaces and open air kitchen were a dream come true. We were in our element. The plunge pool is epic with an epic view, the sounds of the crashing waves and the variety of bird species we were welcomed with were equally as amazing. Toucans and Makaws were in the tree fort and right overhead. If you’re adventurous and want to recreate in the midst of beauty and nature this is the place for you.
