Mystic Waters Retreat

Excellent place for large families!

We stayed here and toured the local areas. The place is so relaxing. We watched the birds every morning. The house was clean and tidy. The pool is a little cold, but we loved it on hot days. A beautiful stay for our first time in Costa Rica.

We had a great stay at this beautiful property! Absolutely gorgeous gardens, a beautiful kitchen, and lots of outdoor living space to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The property is about 10-12 minutes outside of town, so very quiet and secluded. All throughout the day, you can sit outside and watch and listen for birds, frogs, etc. From the porch, we were able to watch toucans, iguanas, frogs and numerous other birds and butterflies. It really was the perfect place to relax after spending our days hiking, rafting and ziplining. We had 4 adults and 2 kids. Between inside and outside living areas, there was plenty of space to spend time together and also have a little distance when we wanted it. Daniel was a great host. He helped with arranging our rental car, tour guides etc. The guides he works with are great, and I highly recommend Adrian and Gustavo for guided hikes at Hanging Bridges, Rio Celeste and El Silencio. We saw so much more with themthan we would have on our own.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this gorgeous spot. The photos don't show how beautiful this place is. It's very private, and we enjoyed birding in the yard, feeding the geese, and exploring the property. We would love to return someday!

Wow! We stayed at this fantastic place for 7 nights as a 2 family group of 9 people. The property is absolutely gorgeous. Many afternoons and evenings we just sat birdwatching and playing in the pool. We saw toucans, basilisk lizards, iguanas, frogs, muscovy ducks, mot mot birds, baby ducks, and so much more from the covered porch area. The sounds of the cicadas, frogs, and howler monkeys were nice for the ambiance. We also took advantage of the private chef for 2 nights. Food and drinks were so great and it was nice to be waited on without having to go anywhere. The concierge service through Alexa and Adrian was seamless. We booked nearly every activity we did through them and got discounts and special bookings - even a few last minute. We really enjoyed our Pura Vida experience!

This was a slice of heaven. Daniel was amazing and the property felt like you were in your own world. So beautiful and well maintained. The check out note saying “please just turn off the AC and we will do the rest, we want you to enjoy your vacation “ was amazing. My wife always stresses about Airbnbs when you have to wash linens etc. Could t recommend this house enough. We were there with 4 kids (ages 11,9,7,4) and the pool/grounds were amazing for them. My middle son said “dad this is the best house we have ever stayed in”

Property is beautiful and full of wild life. There was a little soda typical restaurant within walking distance with great food. Awesome spot and it was exactly what my family was looking for.

This place is incredible. Way better than the pictures! I highly recommend it. The spring fed pool was certainly the highlight and my kids loved how big it was!

The house is close enough to town that visiting the attractions was easy, but far enough that we could enjoy privacy and tranquility. This was our second stay. We loved it so much last year we had to return. There is no question that if we return to this area we will stay here again. We love this home. The environment is so peaceful, the grounds are gorgeous, and there were lots of animals. We loved doing our own night tours on the property, finding frogs and other critters. We also enjoyed cooking breakfast every morning and eating on the patio while watching the birds. The toucans were awesome to see and the daily visit by the ducks was a special touch. Our kids lived in the hammocks. This place felt like home to all of us. The restaurant at the end of the street was sooooo good! Also, the hosts are very helpful and very responsive. They will help you book any experience you could want anywhere in the country, including drivers. 10/10 recommend.

We had a wonderful weekend at Daniel's home. Daniel and his team were incredibly responsive and helpful. They provided recommendations and arranged outings for us that were wonderful. We were unaware that there was no oven in the home and we are a family with many food restrictions and needed to cook, and without a hesitation they swung into action and provided us with a large toaster oven that enabled us to cook our food. The pool was a real hit for all of us. We really appreciated how responsive and accommodating they were.
