this is our third time staying here for an extended period of time. this home is very spacious and clean, and rodolfo is a gracious and responsive host.  thank you!

Overall we enjoyed the spacious house in San Jose for our quick, one-night stopover. It was a much larger version of many typical homes/apartments in the city. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. I confused the details in the reviews with actual listing details and we were caught off-guard to not have garage parking—though I believe Rodolfo sometimes provides his own personal garage with advance notice. This was my error and we arrived too late to coordinate, but there was sufficient space in front to park parallel to the house. We worried about the vehicle on the street, but it was completely fine. Hopefully the Waze link can get updated but do get the specific address details /coordinates to ensure you arrive at the correct place. We originally ended up many, many blocks away from the correct intersection.  The house was conveniently located just outside the city with easy access to the highway.

Hi, thank you for the visit and for your comments. However, I don't understand the problem you had finding the location, because in addition to the information sent by Airbnb, I sent the exact Google Maps location to your WhatsApp twice... Regarding parking, the listing indicates that we don't have any. It's important to read the listing information carefully. Then, by phone, I offered them this option, but they decided not to use it... So, again, I don't understand the reason for their comments.

The place was great for our family of 7. We arrived late at night and needed a place to stay. it was clean, lots of comfortable beds, A/C and everything we needed for our 1 night stay.  The host was super responsive for questions, tips etc. Great spot

This place could not be better located. We booked it for an overnight stay after a long travel day and were extremely pleased with the walk ability of the neighborhood and the excellent food options surrounding it. Definitely would have enjoyed having more time to explore all the eateries close by. For awareness, the street it's on gets a fair amount of traffic. If you sleep in either of the two front bedrooms, you would benefit from having some ear plugs to prevent the noise from keeping you awake. If you're sleeping in the master bedroom in the back, you won't hear a thing.

It was a good place to stay for a big family. Great location, and the host was very responsive and easy to communicate with. We enjoyed our stay!

I really liked the place where I stayed. The view was beautiful and the space was very nice. We arrived before check-in time and the host was very kind to let us in early. At first, we had a problem with the Internet, but he fixed it as quickly as possible and was always attentive. Overall, it was a very good experience and I recommend the place.

The place matched the photos, which is appreciated and gave us confidence from the start. Overall, it looked tidy and met our needs, as we mainly used it to rest. In terms of areas for improvement, we think it's important to mention that there weren't enough towels for everyone; there were 6 of us, and it would have been ideal to have that many. Despite these issues, we are grateful for the stay, as it served its main purpose.

El lugar coincidía con las fotos, lo cual se agradece y nos dio confianza desde el inicio. En general, se veía ordenado y cumplió con lo que necesitábamos, ya que principalmente lo utilizamos para descansar. Como áreas de mejora, consideramos importante mencionar que no había suficientes toallas para todos; éramos 6 personas y hubiera sido ideal contar con esa cantidad. A pesar de estos detalles, agradecemos la estancia, ya que cumplió con su propósito principal.

good place for the price and host was super responsive, which was really appreciated by our group. however, the door has a weird locking mechanism which, although was mentioned by the host is kind of annoying as people can get locked in the house

Rodolfo’s place is a perfect place to stay in San Jose! If you have a rental car, he allows you to keep it in his garage! The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the whole place was clean and nicely decorated. Thank you!

Casa Peralta was perfect for our family! We were visiting our daughter who is studying abroad at Veritas and is living with her host family a few doors down. Not only was this a huge plus for us, the location of this home was fantastic. We literally walked everywhere (supermarket, restaurants in the Barrio area, National Monument, National Museum, even the Central Market (approx 30 min walk.) The Airbnb was huge with wonderfully sized bedrooms, comfortable beds/bedding, and nice sized bathrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed to make food and there were ample dishes, silverware and glasses. We appreciated the washer/dryer and brought Tide Pods with us from home. Each bedroom had large TV's (we logged in with our Amazon Prime account to watch movies) and each bedroom had an air conditioner which was perfect to drown out the street traffic and the birds who happily announce morning!

Rodolfo was always attentive to what we needed and had the best attitude from the moment we started the booking process. We really liked the place and, as other guests have indicated, it is spacious and very clean. It also had a very good variety of cooking utensils, and extra towels and bedding for everything we needed during our stay. We also liked the location because of how close it was to many things. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Casa Peralta again.

Rodolfo siempre estuvo atento a lo que necesitamos y con la mejor actitud desde que iniciamos el proceso para reservar. Nos gustó mucho el sitio y, como lo han indicado otros huéspedes, es espacioso y estuvo muy limpio. Tenía también una muy buena diversidad de utensilios de cocina, y toallas y ropa de cama extra para todo lo que necesitamos durante nuestra estancia. La ubicación nos gustó también por lo cerca que se encontraba de muchas cosas. No dudaría ni un momento en hospedarme nuevamente en Casa Peralta.

Rodolfo's place was amazing, super spacious, clean, well equipped, we felt right at home. Restaurants and bars nearby, a market just a few steps away, everything convenient for a quiet stay with my family. The host is always willing to help and very friendly in communication. A bit noisy on the street. Within walking distance of the center. Great bars, cafes, restaurants in nearby Barrio Escalante! Easy, friendly contact and even a private parking space was made possible. Glad to come back!

Zur Straße etwas laut. In Fußreichweite zum Zentrum. Tolle Bars, Cafés, Restaurants im nahen Barrio Escalante! Problemloser, freundlicher Kontakt und sogar ein privater Parkplatz wurde möglich gemacht. Gerne wieder!

I absolutely loved my stay at this home. Everything was exactly as shown in the photos: clean and very comfortable. The location is perfect, close to everything but at the same time in a quiet area. Communication with Rodolfo was super fast and friendly, always attentive to any detail. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it 100%

Rodolfo was a fantastic host. Was patiently waiting for us even though we were delayed by traffic and rain, to help is check in. Offered late chec out too, free of charge as he didn't have guests coming in. Gave some good local recommendations for food and noght life. Highly recommend.

Very economical for 8 people.  Convenient location, within walking distance to Fresh Market, tourist attractions, restaurants, etc.  Also very easy to use Uber to go to an airport, a hotel, or a restaurant. Very responsive to my questions before and during the stay and to my requests during the stay, such as providing extra toilet tissues, paper towel, and cleaning up the trash.  The apartment has everything for dining, cooking, and doing laundry.  Beds are comfortable with working AC for each bedroom.  WIFI is fast.  During our stay we used it to stream YouTube or organized photos at night.  One tour that we booked was willing to pick us up at the location (very convenient), and another one wanted us to go to the nearby hotel within 1.5 km.  Highly recommended.  We enjoyed our vacation in Costa Rica, and we will use this again given a similar circumstance.

Our family of six needed a place to stay overnight before flying back to US. Rodolfo’s place was perfect. Checking in easy. Able to park in safe spot. Walked to downtown sites. Had fantastic dinner in recommended place. The house is very homey. Would work very well for a family staying in the city for a few days.

Excellent accommodation, faithful to the photos, spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen, close to tourist attractions and shops, everything very comfortable. A little noise from vehicles on the street on weekends, but nothing out of the ordinary. On the other hand, the host is extremely helpful, attentive, and willing to offer flexibility in the face of adverse situations.

Excelente hospedaje, fiel a las fotos, amplio, con cocina bien equipada, cerca a atractivos turísticos y tiendas, todo muy cómodo. Un poco de ruido de vehiculos en la calle en fin de semana, pero nada de otro mundo. Por otra parte, el anfitrión sumamente servicial, atento, y dispuesto ofrecer flexibilidad frente a situaciones adversas.

The house is very convenient for 7 people (4 adults and 3 children). My parents arrived first and Rodolfo was very welcoming. The beds were impeccable and the bathrooms were the perfect size. Rodolfo kindly offered to park our cars in his parking lot which is attached to the house. The house is a 30-minute walk to the city center. Thanks again Rodolfo for hosting us. 🙏🏻

La maison est très pratique pour 7 personnes ( 4 adultes et 3 enfants). Mes parents sont arrivés en premier sur place et Rodolfo a été très accueillant. Les lits étaient impeccables et les salles de bain de taille parfaite. Rodolfo nous a gentiment proposé de garer nos voitures dans son parking qui est collé a la maison. Rodolfo's place was great! It's located in downtown San Jose, and walkable to Barrio La California and Barrio Escalante, two popular neighborhoods. The space itself has a lot of room and everything was very comfortable for us during our stay! Rodolfo was also a great host, always responsive and accommodating. We really appreciated his flexibility! Would recommend staying here if you're staying in San Jose :)

great place for short stay. two locks are little built inconvenient but I guess you need them for security since this is not in a gated community.

Good little place within walking distances from escalante and california area.  The 2 small bedrooms are by the road so expect exesessive sounds.  Other than that, all was well.

This was a great place to stay in the city.  Very helpful that a secure parking spot was included, and there were good walkable restaurant options nearby.  We only stayed one night, but overall I highly recommend.

We needed a one night place on our way back from the beach and Rodolfo's place was just perfect! The rooms were very specious and the kitchen had all we needed. Rodolfo was very accommodating, higly recommend his place.

outlets did not work. several of the lights did not have bulbs.  Not having someone there to meet us was problematic for us...  other groups may not have thought much about this...  but, for our group it was a problem and the taxi driver was also part of the problem - he was upset we did not know EXACTLY where the property was located.  And i would not let my kids out of the vehicle until we had confirmation we were in the right section of town...

Siempre apreciamos los comentarios de los huéspedes, pues nos ayudan a mejorar. Lamentablemente, en este caso la reseña es malintencionada y falsa, cosa que podemos probar. 1) En Casa Peralta las llaves se entregan personalmente. Así que siempre nos encontramos con los huéspedes. Si nadie lo hubiera estado esperando, Robert no habría podido ingresar siquiera... 2) La dirección exacta la reciben los huéspedes al reservar. Además, les mandamos mensajes automáticos con la dirección y les decimos que con gusto podemos enviarles la localización exacta por WhatsApp, si lo prefieren. Por último, estamos en Google Maps y Waze... Así que encontrarnos no es complicado. Ignoro porqué dice que fue difícil ubicarnos. 3) A Robert le enviamos 2 mensajes para coordinar la entrega de llaves y no respondió. El primer mensaje fue el 14 de enero y el segundo el 22 de agosto, 2 días ates de su llegada. El día de su check-in le enviamos un tercer mensaje al que finalmente respondió. A las 10:43 am le recordé que nos podía ubicar en Waze o en Google. A las 10:44 am le di la dirección con calles y avenidas, así como con señas locales. A las 15:52 pm me avisó que habían llegado a Casa Peralta y a las 15:53 le respondí diciendo que la encargada de mantenimiento estaba en la acera para recibirlo. A pesar de esto, en la reseña Robert afirma que nadie lo recibió, o bien que no respondo a los mensajes. Esto es malintencionado de su parte y simplemente falso. Sí lo esperamos y sí respondí a todos sus mensajes, incluso un minuto después de recibirlos... 4) En cuanto a las luces quemadas. Hemos revisado las 6 lámparas de mesa que están en los cuartos de Casa Peralta y todas funcionan. Encontramos una lámpara que tenía una (de un total de dos) luces quemada. Ya la cambiamos. Si nos hubiera informado durante su estadía de inmediato la habríamos cambiado. 5) En cuanto a la supuesta falta de mantenimiento: Casa Peralta se renovó totalmente hace menos de un año y medio. Todo el mobiliario es nuevo y procuramos mantener todo en el mejor estado de limpieza y conservación, como indican las más de 100 evaluaciones que tenemos con 5 estrellas. Escribo esto sobre todo para aclarar la verdad a otros huéspedes que quieran visitarnos. En cuanto a Robert, lamento que haya optado por decir cosas que simplemente no son ciertas...

Even though we only stayed one night, the Airbnb was perfect for our needs. Sofia was so helpful and sweet upon our arrival. It was easy to get to coming from the highway and had many restaurants within walking distance. We also loved the idea of the guestbook at the entrance of the house! Thank you Rodolfo for a great stay!

This is a second review as we stayed here at the start and end of our holiday in Costa Rica. As per first review I would recommend this place. We were in San Jose prior to the check in time and whilst the apartment was still being cleaned we were able to drop our bags off early which was a massive help. Apartment is great, and hosts are really helpful :-)

Nicely equipped kitchen. TVs and air cons in the bedrooms made things very comfortable. Traffic was very manageable at any time of day.

We had a great stay here as a large family group. Loads of space, well equipped kitchen, washer and drier, really clean and great hosts.  Nice to have place to park the car off of the road as well. Would definitely recommend 👍

Lovely and spacious Airbnb in a great and central location of San José. We enjoyed the space as there is a lot to do within walking distance. Also the road is relatively quiet for San José which is great. The house itself has everything needed in terms of appliances... We would definitely stay there again in the future.

We had a short but very good one-night stay at Rodolfo's home! Rodolfo was great to communicate with and was  helpful throughout our stay. The house is very spacious, clean, and peaceful. Having access to a washer and dryer in the house was a bonus for us as well. We would recommend this house to stay in!

Everything was super good. Communication with Rodolfo and Sofía was excellent. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Loved the house for our one night stay. The rooms close to the street were a little noisy at night but from a full day of travel the house was perfect for our group of 7
