The Backyard Beach House is the ultimate surf holiday. Moreover, we hired the house and hotel for our wedding. Nick took real good care of us and made the entire week a true five star experience. I could not recommend this more.

Nick's place is just amazing; literally, you have the beach as your backyard. Everything was spotless, and the service was fantastic. My family and I really enjoyed, we look forward to returning soon

Look no further, this is the Airbnb to book! Concierge, cleaning, security, and the whole team went above and beyond. Beach is gorgeous, pool is clean, and location is ideal. I recommend the private boat tour, ATV ride, and La Iguana golf course for excursions to anyone visiting. Great experience! Thanks!

We took a group trip to Jaco and Nick’s place was perfect. We were an eclectic group with young kids of different ages, and the home and location had everything for everyone. The pool-to-beach access is just gorgeous, it’s not just accessible it felt like our own, personal beach. And it was awesome to bounce between the two all day. Chefs Yanory & Sonia cooked us really fresh meals and were such a pleasure to me around. The flexibility and convenience of a chef for the group was such a bonus. But if you want to get out, the two restaurants next door are great and you can access it from the beach! Pro-tip from Nick: purchase your drinks at duty free to avoid the heavy markups ;) we miss Jaco already and it hasn’t even been 24 hours!

Beautiful house, modern, beachfront, perfect for families or big groups. We were travelling with a baby and two dogs and Nick even provided a crib. We are excited to plan another visit soon.

Nick is an awesome host an welcomed me personally in his Air BnB even though we checked in two hours earlier than in the check in rules. He took explained me everything in Detail theres to know about the House and its surroundings. The house is in the calming Playa Hermosa, just a short ride away from the crowded Jaco. Its right on the Beach right next to some good restaurants. Perfect place to stay for me and my 4 friends, thanks nick!

Wow! We had 8 of us and there was plenty of room. The beach access is phenomenal with restaurants and grocery stores within waking distance. The concierge was fantastic! She always responds quickly. Washer & dryer in the home is a great amenity and we used it quite a bit. Also, many iguanas around the house, which was such some great entertainment and the kiddos loved it. Five star rating for sure.

Couldn’t be happier with our stay here. Home located not far from Jaco but is also very private. The property was full of wildlife and conveniently located within walking distance of several bars and great restaurants. The owner and his crew were responsive with anything needed. Being there is a delight, walking along the beach, watching the surf, experiencing the sounds, watching the surfers, just being there. Staying at the Backyard Beach House has been a delightful and tranquil experience for our family and friends. Treat yourself ad stay there!

This was our 3rd stay and we will book a 4th. This place is very special. We walked the beach at all hours, watched the ocean from the deck for hours, connected with the chef for a surf and turf dinner that was also a birthday party. In my earlier review, I shared that this is a place for creating wonderful memories. We've stayed at the house with children aged 8-11, and also with an 80-year old who uses a wheelchair. Part of this house's charm is that everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The house feels and lives larger than the photos. The kitchen is a dream. The bedrooms are spacious. The deck has multiple and varied seating areas. Easy to live out there. Enjoy! Thank you Nicholas for creating this!

The house is very well equipped, each room with its own private bathroom. The location helped us a lot because it allowed us to move around without taking up much time. The garden and beach access are very good! Too bad the beach is a bit rough and since we went with children, we had to be very alert. Communication with Nick was very efficient and both he and Patricia always responded quickly, they helped us a lot in scheduling additional activities. I recommend it 100%

This place is a beautiful, private piece of paradise. We brought family with 2 nephews and 3 little boys, then another stay with niece, and now a third time with more family. We are building beautiful family memories here. The deck is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the view and sound of the waves -- notable waves here. And 2 bedrooms have ocean views. One family member uses a wheelchair and the full house and deck are easily accessible. Recommend the chef as well as the restaurant next door -- rather spectacular meals. And the host, Nicholas, is exceptionally proactive, helpful, and responsive. Enjoy this place -- it's a special experience!

The pictures don’t do any justice !!! This house was insanely amazing !!!!! The views - the sunsets !!! The 1 min walk to the beach!!! We loved that every room had its own private bathroom !!!!! This house is a must and we will be back in October !

Came here with 14 of my family members. Great house. House is very well designed. Clean and comfortable. Kitchen is commercial grade which was very plus point for our family. Overall perfect for good family outing in Costa Rica. Close to Jaco and also away from all the noise.

I am so happy that my girlfriends and I stayed here for my bachelorette party! It was the perfect place to stay for a mix of fun and relaxation, and we felt very safe the entire time. We loved being right on the beach, and there are so many restaurants and bars within walking distance, and it was so fun to watch surfers every day! Nick was a fantastic host, friendly and attentive. We would love to stay here again, perfect for friends and family! Also love that every bedroom had its own bathroom, no issues with the house at all.

Came here for a trip catching up with old friends. The entire experience, from the day we checked in to the moment we left was 10/10. The location is incredible. The airbnb walks out directly to a quiet and clean black sand beach. Surrounding the location is multiple restaurants within walking distance. The airbnb itself is clean, with regular cleaning. It has all the amenities you would need for a beach vacation. The support staff was very responsive with helping arranging activities and transportation. Excellent service! This stay was everything and more! The place was absolutely beautiful—so much better than the photos. Being right on the beach made the trip unforgettable. Place was immaculate. It was a beautiful home , with practically your own private beach , the view from the home was unbelievable. Loved the place , 5 of us went the house super clean and modern , walk to beach in 30 second as a ta right in front , Nicholas a great host . Place was cleaned pristine and washrooms are all modern . Concierge is a great too they arranged tours for us, ideal for both families as well as guys trip , both in one package . Only for people with taste can enjoy this place

Nick was super great and helped with anything and everything we needed. The house was even better than advertised, super spacious with perfect beachfront access. The location was amazing, with tons of restaurants around it, and the beach was truly amazing! This place was awesome! The pictures do not do it justice. My husband and I stayed here with our 3 kids (ages 15, 13, 11), my parents, and my brother. The house is very spacious. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. It fit all 8 of us very comfortably. There was maid service everyday which was fantastic. Nick was a wonderful host; if we ever needed anything he was a text/call away. Patricia, the concierge, was there to greet us when we arrived. She was extremely helpful and responsive and was great at scheduling excursions. We used Chef Pablo's services for dinner and breakfast and it was excellent. Food was great and service even better. The outside space with the pool and patio is perfection. The beach is stunning and the area is cute. You can walk to a few bars and restaurants which was lovely. All in all this place was amazing!!! Stay here!!

This place was absolutely gorgeous as described! Right on the beach and in walking distance to other restaurants. The home was spacious and clean. The house came with a concierge service which was a great added bonus. She assisted with planning daily activities during our stay and she was helpful and nice. The only downside to this was that I requested to rent a yacht for my birthday and was provided with an old run down fishing boat.

We loved that the house had direct access to the beach, which was very convenient, especially with children. The view from the house was spectacular, and the sunsets in the evening were phenomenal. This house was fantastic, the location is stunning, Nicholas was over and above helpful with all of our questions, help with organizing activities, transportation. The Chef, Yanory (*spelling) was fantastic, the dinner and breakfasts she made for us were delicious and fresh. She also went over and above helping with birthday celebrations for someone in our group. If you get the chance to stay here, you will not want to leave!!

What an incredibly beautiful home! Our host, Nick, was great to work with, communicative, friendly, and checking in was seamless. The location cannot be beat. Great bars and restaurants are a quick walk and the black sand beach was outstanding. The home is spotless, modern and the photos don’t do it justice. We are blown away with our stay the beach house has a breath taking view of the black sand beach and the house itself was incredible it has a massive kitchen with lots of appliances to use and the rooms were very spacious with comfy queen sized beds and bunk beds in some of the rooms perfect for family’s.all of the house is extremely clean as cleaners come everyday, we 100% recommend staying at the backyard beach house we will be coming back definetely!

Our family was 5 adults and 3 kids, with one person in wheelchair and 3 adults working part-time (woefully!). The house is designed so well that everyone found working space and play space throughout the day. The kids were thrilled with the pool and with horses coming to the back gate for their first horseback ride ever. We hired the chef for one night which was a delight. Nick directed us to local restaurants and Vista Hermosa was wonderful -- phenomenal seafood, service, care for wheelchair and kids. We can't wait to go back to the house. We had the pleasure of staying at this beachfront Airbnb, and it was nothing short of amazing, The property is situated right on the beach, allowing for easy access to the sand and sea at any time of the day. Our horses even came up to the beachfront of the property to pick us up. Breathtaking views for our morning coffees and epic sunsets to close out the evening.The Airbnb itself was beautifully decorated, with cozy and comfortable furnishings that made us feel right at home. Comfy beds, linen, and pillows. The kitchen was well-equipped, allowing us to prepare meals and also has a private chef on staff. Incredible hospitality shown by our hosts. They were attentive, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The sunsets were magical and the water was perfect 👍🏽

Our stay at the Backyard Beach Airbnb was sheer perfection. My 3 brothers and I (and spouses) took my parents here for their 40th wedding anniversary. The beach felt like it was our own private oasis. I was slightly concerned with us being adjacent to the hotel; however, we couldn’t even tell there were people next door. In fact, we appreciated the proximity to the hotel because if we needed anything - the concierge, Paty, would have someone over in an instant. My dad has limited mobility, so we wanted a place that would be easy for him to get around. The Airbnb is all one floor & he could enjoy sitting on the back deck & listen to the ocean all day long. We loved being so close to Vida Hermosa - a great restaurant with a fun vibe. The sunsets were incredible! Can’t say enough awesome things about Nick, Paty and Chef Yannory. Our fave excursion was a sunset cruise on a private boat that Paty helped arrange. Also, I had the BEST massage at the Airbnb. We’re definitely coming back!

This property is much more beautiful than the pictures shown in the listing. The moment you walk in the door you can see through the house and out into the Pacific Ocean. If you’re looking for a place to surf you’ve found it. Very challenging and not for beginner surfers trying to learn. The local bars and restaurants are beautiful and only 3 minute walk down the road. Nick is very responsive and gets back to you immediately. Would love to come back!

Amazing beach house with unbelievable sunset in the evenings. We felt like having our own private beach. Nicholas is a great host with a lot of local knowledge and was available at any points we needed him. If you are looking for a private beach house close to restaurants and bar this is the house for you.

We were two families with 9pp total. the house was amazing and came with Chef kitchen to easily prepare meals- Mostly breakfast for us. The bedrooms all came with ensuite baths and the beds were very comfortable to sleep on. Location was excellent with several beach bars next door and mini mart close by. Jaco was only ten min drive to great dining and beaches to learn to surf. Our host, Nick and his staff were very helpful at both check in and for area excursions and dining options. The Backyard Beach House is a Five Star Home!

DO NOT HESITATE! Book this property…you will be amazed! From the time we checked in to the time we left, Paty, our concierge took care of everything and far exceeded our expectations. This home faces the ocean and every night we watched surfers and sunsets from our deck. The pool was great for chilling after a long day of touring. Our horseback ride on the beach started in front of the house - talk about convenient! Juan at Vida Hermosa treated us like family as soon as we arrived at his restaurant. Nick, our host, stopped on our first evening to make sure we were settling in and had everything we needed. Truly a magical property in a magical country and a magical experience thanks to Nick and Paty. You will love the Backyard Beachhouse!

Loved the place! Steps away from the beach. We had 6 people so it was super comfortable. The beach is awesome, soft dark brown sand and warmer water than Jaco. If you are looking for a relaxing family spot you will enjoy this place. Nicholas was great. It also has maid service daily

Nick is beyond a Super Host!! Nick helped to turn a trip headed for disaster into a trip of a lifetime. We initially booked with another rental company, but upon our arrival we immediately knew we were deceived and started looking for a last minute place that would be fit for our bride-to-be. We came across Nick’s listing, hoping it would not be too good to be true. But we took a leap of faith and received a gourmet kitchen for our private chef, optional heated pool, beach access, a thoughtfully curated beach house and impeccable service from Nick. From his quick response to check-in, it was seamless. Nick checked every detail and made settling in easy. Any amenity we were interested in was provided or offered. The group’s consensus was that this was the best vacation we have ever been on individually or collectively. I could go on but words can’t explain our gratitude for the experience we received. This property comes highly recommended to anyone who enjoys Beach House Luxury.

We were all very very happy with this house. Nic and his amazing staff made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The house is very clean and beautiful (as pictured) is in a great location, is safe, and the beach walks and sunsets were epic! We enjoyed chef services, massages, daily house cleaning services and multiple excursions that were arranged by Nic’s concierge staff, who were so accommodating and friendly, and were on stand by for anything and everything we needed - like bottles of water, last minute alcohol runs, and arranging our cab rides into town when needed. We had a really amazing time in this house. It was perfect for our group of 10 people, and having each room have en-suite bath, was such an added bonus. There is also a half bath in the living room that was super useful for those who shared a room with more than 2 people. We highly recommend staying here during your Costa Rican adventure, whether you’re a first timer, or returning!

We enjoy every moment in our stay. Nick, the owner and his team was very kind to ask. We felt very safe and they really looked after us with everything that we needed. The house is super modern extremely beautiful and nicely made. The kitchen was to die for serious chef professional kitchen. everything was working perfect in the house. The view was spectacular and the location was also very good. We can’t thank him enough, he really made our trip to be incredible. Nick and Patricia did a great work on this recently build house. Everything was built with the intent of accomodating visitors that enjoy the beach and the comfort of a new house. The Backyard Beach house was absolutely beautiful. Nick, our host was accommodating and friendly. The house was newly renovated and beautifully decorated. 5 bedrooms for our group was more than enough space. We also ordered chef services and the food was absolutely delicious. The location of the house was perfect. Located on the beach and next to all the nightlife. The house was also directly next to the Backyard hotel, so we were able to enjoy all the hotel amenities. We enjoyed our stay and will be back again. We highly recommend staying at the Beach house next time you’re in Jaco Beach. You’ll love it!
