Shallow Bay was beautiful, so cute, and very clean. The kitchen has everything you need. The covered deck is very large and we loved having coffee in the morning and nightcap in evening out there. It is super quiet and peaceful along with well landscaped and maintained lot. Jeannette the local contact person is extremely helpful with restaurant suggestions and tours. I would definitely come back and recommend staying here.

If you want to stay in a well maintained, comfortable place that has amazing views and basks in the culture of the area, you cant miss with Shallow Bay.

This place was gorgeous. My lady and I wanted something out of the way to have a quiet New Years Holiday and that is exactly what we found when we got to the Shallow Bay Beach House. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans for cooking when we wanted to and the town was close enough for us to get to easily but not too close that we were inundated with traffic and local noise. Overall it was a beautiful stay and well worth the price. I would (and already have) recommended this to anyone looking for a place to stay in Hopkins. Thank you so much Rita and Steve!

The time that we spent in Hopkins at Steve and Rita‘s Place was not only relaxing and comfortable, but a home away from home. We’d definitely stay there again! We walked in, unpacked and had everything we needs at our fingertips. We enjoyed every minute. Hopkins is a small tight knit community where we felt welcome, but the rental location has a lot of privacy with iguanas, rays, fish, many species of birds, manatees and even an agouti visit! You will not regret booking this stunning home. Thank you Rita and Steve for making our first visit to Belize amazing! You better BELIZE we will be back. 🩵

Wow, what a beautiful and peaceful location. Right next to the ocean, with a great view right from the second story covered patio. Or you can go out to the dock and relax there or swim in the shallow warm water. The indoor space was perfect for my wife and I as we enjoyed the relaxing down time.

I stayed at Shallow Bay to get away from it all. I needed alone time. I do have a few friends in the area that I was able to spend quality time with. I rented a golf cart to get around in the quaint town of Hopkins. Shallow Bay Beach House went beyond my expectations for solitude and beauty. I watched the sunrise many morning and was able to sleep in the other mornings. I watched on TV what I wanted to watch which I can’t do at home 😣 Every thing I needed was in the kitchen for when I wanted to stay at home for meals. Or I golf carted it into town for the other meals. And met great people there. Hopkins is now my home away from home and I’ll be scheduling my visits when ShallowBay is available ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This house surpassed what we expected. It was truly lovely inside and was so well stocked. We spent many hours on the upper porch watching the pelican squadrons glide by and enjoying the sea views. We were glad we rented a funky little golf cart- watch out for the nasty speed bumps everywhere- so we could really explore all of Hopkins. Nice to be able to try local hideaways for dinner, too. Hopkins is very quiet- a sleepy village with zip nightlife but charming residents. We usually passed no one on the way back from dinner at 8:00. Neither the vacationers or villagers are big on parties- except for Sunday beach bbqs. Dogs & babies invited! I always point out the downsides in every review. This one is that the beaches are not walkable. Often docks extend into the surf or rock walks block the way. And the house is accurately named- you walk and walk out in the water to reach waist depth. But it’s seaweed free, delightfully warm, and a joy to bob around in for hours. Would gladly return!

Rita and Steve’s house was absolutely a home away from home and it was absolutely beautiful. The views were spectacular and it was such a plus having the dock to spend time outside without having to get blasted by sunshine. The house had everything you could possibly need to cook at home and was in a great location to get dinner in Hopkins as well. The staff around the house were extremely helpful and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Checking in and out was flexible and the mattress was amazing. I have nothing but glowing reviews for this home and would highly recommend it for anyone interested in spending time in Hopkins!

This place is amazing! Very close to the town area. Great food and drink nearby. Helpful check in host with carts available. Also great recommendations for activities!

Perfect for a relaxing and restful reset! Just what my hubby and I needed.

We loved our stay at Shallow Bay! We stayed in the top unit and it was lovely - it was very clean, spacious, had AC which was so nice since it was quite hot and humid, and had a stunning outside area with a table, hammock, and the most stunning views. It felt like you had your own private jungle beach oasis. We truly couldn't get over the views! The hosts were very helpful and responsible. The location was great and was a quick golf cart ride away to all the restaurants, bars, and stores. Overall, I highly recommend Shallow Bay! We fell in love with Belize and already can't wait to come back.

Our stay at Shallow Bay was perfect. We stayed in the second floor apartment (there is another unit on the first floor) and it was wonderful. It felt like being in a tree house! Right on the water, surrounding by palms and fragrant trees, the sound of the waves and leaves was so calming. The house has great airflow which is nice in a tropical (read hot and humid) location. We didn't need to run with AC with the windows open and the ceiling fans. The kitchen had all we needed and more. Bathroom shower was awesome. Lots of hot water! The location was especially good for us: we could walk to the "hotel zone" of Hopkins in about 10-15 minutes. All in all, I would highly recommend Rita and Steve's place for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

We found Rita & Steve's top floor unit to be exactly as described on Airbnb. The interior & property are cared for beautifully. The kitchen is well appointed, the bath/shower spacious. Being upstairs & looking out the windows is like being surrounded by beautiful coconut trees & landscaping with a wonderful ocean view! The unit is quiet & peaceful & the bed very comfortable. The property management team is top notch & responsive to any needs. Having beach cruiser bikes makes it an easy ride into Hopkins stores, restaurants & shops. We highly recommend Roast coffee shop.

One of the best vacations we’ve had. Great place to relax. The house has a great layout and catches the breeze well. Landscape is fantastic. Really lucky we picked this house for our stay.

What a lovely place! Was happy we went with this option over a resort/hotel. Lots of space, kitchen with appliances, access to washer/dryer. Very clean and private. There is another unit in the home but this wasn’t an issue. The beachfront access was stunning. Would stay again.
