We spent many hours gazing into the trees at wildlife -- four kinds of monkeys, white-nosed coatis, and so much more. What an incredible opportunity to spend a week in the jungle at the water's edge.

Casa Dos Rios is magical! You are in a gorgeous tropical rainforest full of howler and spider monkeys, macaws and green parrots, the sound of and view of waves. Thank you so much for sharing your paradise with us; we loved it!

Second time to Casa Dos Rios and amazing as always. We love the house, love the wildlife and the connection we feel to the surroundings when staying at the house. Daily visits from the Monkeys, Macaws and other beautiful bird, as well as a variety of other wildlife is better than a paid guided tour in one of the many national parks. Carlos is also always kind and helpful. Had great surf to top off a great stay. The hardest part is having to leave.

We have been coming to Matapalo since 1999, the best part about this area is that nothing changes. Waking up to the Howler monkeys, watching the makaws pair up, and getting to surf some of the best right-handers is a dream. Casa Dos Rios open-air tree house is by far one of the nicest homes in the area. This wooded house feels so good with the ocean breeze, the best views while doing dishes. Thank you for having us in your beautiful home, we will be back. Having Carlos on-site is a huge bonus!! Michelle and Daron Rahlves. Truckee, Ca

Lovely, immaculate, gorgeous and a view to die for. Was close to a sandy beach. We didn't want to leave! The trip to puerto Jimenez was about 30 minutes. It was worth the distance (and rough roads) because the place was paradise! Our group of six had plenty of room and loved listening to the jungle around us. Hope we can get back here someday!

We had the best stay at Casa Dos Rios! Beds were comfy, kitchen was well equipped, outside spaces were abundant. We loved the little natural “pool” just down the beach from the house! It was a perfect spot for the kids to play & explore. Martina’s is within walking distance & we loved the relaxed vibe there - food was delicious! I felt like the location was perfect for exploring all that the Osa Peninsula had to offer. We were able to do surf lessons, hike Corcovado national park, visit the bird sanctuary, and go check out the cocoa bean farm (highly recommend!). Carlos was a great caretaker & answered all our questions. He even took my husband and son out on a fishing trip! We saw tons of wildlife at the house - and one day even had about 30 monkeys show up! 10/10 recommend staying here - you’ll never want to leave!

Already on the day of departure we missed this wonderful place and even days later we are sad that we have not stayed longer. The house is very cozy, very well thought out and equipped with everything you need. The reception by Carlos was very nice. He and the house keeper Siña really took care of everything. We immediately felt at home. Swimming in the sea right in front is difficult because of the rocky underground, but a few beautiful beaches like Playa Pan Dulce and Matapalo are only a few minutes away and even within walking distance. You can save the visit of the national park, because all animals such as Aguti, roar/spider/capuchin monkeys, bats, macaws, Tayras, countless birds, huge butterflies etc. can be seen from the fantastic terrace and really get very close to the house.

Such a peaceful place. We loved the rugged beauty and simple living. The surf for beginners was great late December. I was super sad I did not see a Sloth.🦥
