Beautiful trip to La Laguna. An ideal place to unwind with a warm-water lagoon where you can swim with the children without any worries. The 3 hammocks with a view of the lagoon allowed us to relax. The host, Pac, and the caretaker, Eliomar, were very attentive to everything. Eliomar even invited us to a fishing trip in the evening and kindly cooked us a soup early in the morning with the fish we caught. The recommended driver, Maximiliano, and his sidekick, Luis, are so perfect that we hired them for other parts of the trip. We were lucky enough to see howler monkeys there. The accommodation is completely secluded and open, and in addition to the bedrooms, it allows for a beautiful immersion in nature. The only area for improvement is that several pieces of equipment could use a little TLC. With a little spiffing up, this place would be amazing. We have a very nice memory of this place and of our explorations in the water of the Laguna.

The place is magical, very nice But it needs maintenance on the electrical system and some kind of power plant in case there are blackouts

Absolutely stunning! It was peaceful and perfect for us. Lots of bugs since it is open air but they provided spray. LOTS OF STAIRS! It was a bit of a struggle for our older family members but they were able to do it. The walk down to the water might be tough for some people. But I would 100% return.

First, thank you very much, Pac, for the service provided. The house is truly a magical place. Private. With a spectacular view. In good condition. The place is the same as what you see in the photos. Personally, we had no problems in the outdoor space with any kind of natural elements, except for the usual kites. Comfortable rooms with all the stipulated amenities: A/C, hot water, etc. The kitchen is very well equipped. Everything is clean. To get there, you need a high vehicle, as indicated in the description. I would always recommend a pickup truck, as the road to get there is quite rough. All in all, excellent in every sense.

Thank you Alejandro.

Very nice place! We saw lots of monkeys and beautiful birds! You have to be prepared to be secluded in the middle of nature at the end of a rocky road, but in my opinion, that’s part of the experience! The food service is good if you want basic Nicaraguan cuisine with lots of fried food. Maximiliano was great for transportation.

This is a very unique and cool accommodation! We loved the privacy and how immersed in nature we felt the entire time. If you are looking for a low key spot to relax and recover during your travels, this is definitely the spot! The entire house other than the bedrooms and bathrooms is open to the outdoors at all times, so this may not be the place for you if you are afraid of the odd critter or need things spotless at all times. That said, hanging out in the hammocks in the living room and looking out over the lagoon without glass in the way makes it worthwhile, in my opinion. The water pressure could have been better, but it got the job done and didn't negatively impact our stay. The road in looks like a small farm offshoot that you would not expect to go up, and you definitely need a dirtbike or a 4x4, which Pac has listed in the ad. He is not joking! The place is worth the bounce, though! Overall we loved it and would stay again. The bnb and surrounding area rock!

We enjoyed our stay on Laguna de apoyo but in no way is this a luxurious stay. It’s a small step above camping. I feel it is important to note that while the bedrooms can be closed off to the elements the rest of the house is wide open for tarantulas, cockroaches, ants, monkeys, etc. The house is a little worse for wear with some mold on the walls, tears in the curtains, broken chairs, general dirt and dust and clutter, and a trickle for water pressure. The kitchen was dingy, dishes needed washing before use (probably because if the lack of doors or screens) and it could be better stocked. As mentioned you’ll want a lrg car. It’s a good 10-15 minutes of bumpy terrain so add that to your ETA. All the being said, the location can’t be beat! There are kayaks and paddle boards. So many hammocks for a beautiful lounge and once you’re there with your groceries there is no reason to leave! Our group was 50/50 on if they’d stay again. The owner was nice to work with and quick to respond.

Dear Chelsea, Your review is very valuable to us. We like to have feedback from our guests. We will pay close attention to the cleanliness, especially at this time of year when everything is very dry and the wind stirs up the dust. The house is located in an isolated area immersed in nature, and its design was made with the idea that you can penetrate that environment as much as possible without sacrificing comfort and feeling like you are in the middle of a tropical jungle. I'm going to go through your review very carefully to see how we can improve that 50/50 in the opinion of whether or not they would visit us again. Thank you so much to all of you.

We had a great stay! We loved sitting on the patio looking out over the lake, and using the kayaks. As mentioned in the listing, a higher clearance vehicle is required to get to the house (not an issue for us, and it was a fun drive in!)

This house is truly a gem and looks exactly as shown in the pictures. We were a family of seven, including two children under the age of two, and Pablo kindly made accommodations for our little ones. The house is well-equipped, and with food stocked, you can truly enjoy it to the fullest. We loved the open concept, the hammocks, and the clean breeze throughout the home. There are many recreational areas, and if you enjoy nature, this is definitely the place to be. Every morning we were greeted by a family of monkeys, which would wake us up-an experience that only added to the charm of the stay. We also observed many species of birds and other wildlife. The only downside is that the house is very remote, and the road leading to it is quite bumpy. Other than that, we highly recommend this home for families looking to disconnect, enjoy nature, and have a truly memorable stay. Another positive note: Pablo, the host, was very nice, quick to respond, and attentive throughout our stay.
