Just a few minutes walk to Playa Negra. Quiet surroundings and large covered deck expands the usable space.

Amazing house, just a couple of minutes walk from a beautiful beach. Plenty of space, with a huge deck that wraps around the entire front of the house. Air conditioned bedrooms are a blessing. The pool is private and perfect temperature. The restaurant associated with the resort, located right on the beach, is an easy walk. The setting is beautiful and the food is tasty. Multiple restaurants and cafes are just a short drive (or a longer walk) away. Finding the property was a bit tricky at night, so best to arrive during daylight. But once you've done it the first time, navigation became easy. Carla is an amazing host.

Our family of 4 and another family of 5 stayed at La Choza over Thanksgiving. We had an amazing time. It’s our 4th time staying at this house and we will come back again.

Carla is a wonderful host, very responsive, proactive and helpful. The house is well situated, a short 3-5 minute walk to the beach. Surf lessons and standup paddle boarding were highlights.

The condo is very nice for a group of 6. The only problem was a lack of adjoining bathrooms for some bedrooms. The proximity to the beach and the nearby bar/restaurant is excellent. We had a great time and would return to this property.

We very happy to have had the chance to stay at La Choza, with our family, 4 generations of us under one roof. Carla was a host like no other we have ever had. Communication was over the top good. From the first contact in booking, to the check in, the helpfulness in finding things for us to do. The food recommendations, the putting us in contact with some locals, and even checking in with us after our excursions, to make sure we had a great time. I really don't know what she could have done to be any better. 💯 Respect to her. Now to the house.... Such a great layout for a large group. The kitchen was large enough for us to all hang around the island and chat, while prepping snacks and meals. The oversized deck was very well used, and many naps were had in the 2 hammocks. With a group of 10 we felt very comfortable with the space. It was large enough to all be spread out, but also many places for all of us to hang out. Pool was perfect for us. Beach was very short walk. Recommended!

Fantastic home in a beautiful location - close to the beach for great surfing and sunsets, easy short walk. Lovely quiet grounds near a great hotel restaurant and hang out spot. Easy drive to more awesome food choices and surf breaks. And more...House is a great haven!

Carla and Stephanie were incredible hosts; very responsive and full of helpful suggestions. La Choza is beautiful and a place we envision coming back to!

The house is amazing -- this wasn't super clear from the listing, but it's attached to a local hippy-ish hotel with pool and restaurant, so there's somewhere you can walk to in flipflops when you want a bite or drink. Totally awesome, and Carla is just 100% amazing.

Great home in good location. Amazing deck that really makes the house. Pleasantly surprised by the view of ocean from the deck. Casual is the word for Playa Negra. Low key surf beach perfect for long walks and amazing sunsets. Access to hotel amenities was great. Visit other local beaches for a fun day. Local restaurants were all very good. Thanks Carla!

A beautiful home. Spacious kitchen and entertainment area, especially the outside areas. We had nine adults and everyone felt they had enough privacy. Loved the ladies who helped us with cleaning. Carla was a very accommodating host. We all highly recommend this home.

Carla was great. Always responsive with suggestions and answering questions. We should have used her more! House was just as expected . Pool was lovely. Also part of a hotel that had a nice bar/restaurant on the beautiful beach that you can walk to quickly even in the rain. The covered decks are a life saver as we could all be together outside even in the rain. Other restaurants were a further walk and most were closed as we were there right before the opening after rainy season so the hotel restaurant and bar was a lifesaver. There is security present and a gate to get into the “resort” but it is not over the top. This place is great for a family or group who wants to be together but not in a loud touristy area but still have things to do. If you want touristy a trip into Tamarindo is about a 40 minute drive.

La Choza was a DREAM for our company retreat. Six of us traveled to Costa Rica to do some team bonding and Carla set us up for the absolute best retreat EVER. She was a brilliant communicator and helped us book an amazing chef and her daughters for breakfasts and dinners (since it was rainy season, places weren't open), went grocery shopping for us, booked a catamaran day, helped us find a photographer, etc. This house is even more amazing in person, if you can believe it. There's a sliver of an ocean view and you can hear the waves crashing all day and night which was sooo soothing and amazing. A/C worked perfectly in the bedrooms and we were all very comfortable throughout. It's a very short 1 minute walk to the beautiful Playa Negra beach. We could have just sat there and watched the surfers all morning! Note that the beach isn't exactly "swimmable". There are a ton of rocks and the surf is decently high. Depending on time of day, there are pools that form in the rocks for you to sit and hang out in while checking out the boatload of hermit crabs roaming about! There was security on premise all night, which made all of us feel super safe, and the chef's daughters also did housekeeping almost every day (not Sundays, I believe). We can't WAIT to come back to La Choza. Stop looking and book this home!

Excellent location with a variety of local restaurants nearby. Housekeeping really made this a luxury stay! We loved having access to the hotel pool and restaurant— so convenient!
