2nd time at the Nangu lodge and always a real joy. It's pretty, cozy, simple, well thought out and comfortable. Having the monkeys, squirrels, butterflies of all colors and others as neighbors is fantastic. I love this place and the hosts are absolutely great. I feel at home there, certainly you too if you come!

We spent 3 nights in this beautiful place. The bay window that opens entirely and the large terrace with Jacuzzi are very nice. There are indeed a few noises nearby (neighbors, cars and howler monkeys) so you will not be alone lost in nature mails that was not inconvenient for us. The place is a little away from the center of Samara and it's best to have a car to stay there. Laurent and Andréa welcomed us in person with great kindness and gave us lots of good advice about the surroundings. Thanks again:)

Great spot. Loved the jacuzzi and the view was primo. You definitely need a car if you're renting here, but it's not too bad

Laurent and his wife's place was very quietly located in the hills of Samara and perfect for our stay. We especially enjoyed the large glass front on the balcony. In just 6 minutes we could be in Samara or Playa Carillo by car.

Lovely stay with very friendly and helpful hosts. The property had everything you needed and the beautiful balcony and hot tub made it very special. Recommendations from host really helped make our stay enjoyable and Samara is one of our favourite places in Costa Rica.

We loved our stay here! Laurent is a very considerate host. The house was very clean and in a great location just outside town but still very close! The deck and hot tub were an amazing way to end the nights playing cards and listening to all the animals

We had a wonderful stay in Samara. Laurent's rental was just as described and the photos matched. He was very friendly and accommodating, and even provided us with a great list of restaurant recommendations and local beaches. We loved the deck set up with a large screen that we kept open while sleeping. Keep in mind, there is no A/C. Only ceiling fans. We didn't use the hot tub. The roads are very bumpy in places, but Laurent provides great directions. Would not recommend walking into Samara from this location, but there was always plenty of on street parking in town every day. Definitely recommend staying here for both its affordability and location.

The accommodation is very good, the jacuzzi is a plus that is highly appreciated at the end of the day. It would have been nice to have a toaster for breakfast. The sound of howler monkeys in the background reminds you of where you are.

We felt very comfortable and safe at the place. The lodge was very clean and the absolute highlight is the hot tub with a view of the countryside! We were able to discover many different birds and even a hummingbird. Laurent sent us recommendations for the area with restaurants, supermarket, beach etc, so we were well prepared for our stay. Laurent and Andrea are very friendly hosts who were always available. Absolute heart recommendation!

Beautiful lodge a little away from the Sámara city center. For reaching the city center and beaches, you'll need a car (which is generally recommended in Costa Rica). Laurent and Andrea are very nice and polite hosts. Recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Laurent's place. The place is very quiet and we felt very much at home. Everything is really very clean and in order. You wake up with nature sounds and we enjoyed a lot. The hot tub is a big plus. It was a all-round good stay. We got good tips from Laurent and he was always available. How would come back.

Very nice and clean accommodation located just outside of Samara. Great hot tub from where you can watch hummingbirds and with luck monkeys! All-wheel drive is recommended to reach the property easily.

Laurent and Andrea were so welcoming and were eager to offer recommendations for local taxis, bars and restaurants in the area. Their Airbnb was spotless and even more beautiful in person. Definitely will be returning here if I find myself in Samara again.

The place was very nice! We slept very well - at night you can hear all kinds of animals. The terrace with the hot tub was also beautiful and cozy. Only one hammock is missing :-) Would stay there again.

A beautiful, new and modern home with all the comforts you need. A beautiful terrace with a Jacuzzi where you enjoy lounging. Close to the beautiful Carillo beach, and Samara who has a lot of charm. Laurent and Andrea, a French couple from Costa Rica, are really nice, very warm and have great tips. Go there with your eyes closed, you won't find anything better.

Loved staying here. It was a great way to have a little seclusion but also enjoy the town on Samara. The accommodations were even better in person than in the photographs. The hosts were really proactive in communication and very helpful in pointing out things to do in the area. 10/10 recommend!

The apartment/cabin was as described and matched the photos. The selling point really is the in-suite jacuzzi, which we enjoyed. The location is also nice for those who want to be just outside of “downtown” Samara but super close driving distance (1km). It is worth noting that the unit does not have A/C, nor a TV. That was fine for us, and the internet worked well. The hosts were helpful for some local dining recommendations, including a wonderful French bakery with the best fresh baked bread to enjoy in the morning. There are an endless number of activities in the area, from horseback riding to kayaking and of course a number of beautiful beaches (our favorite was Playa Cangrejal). There are also a number of great places to dine. Our favorite was Dolce Vita, an Italian place right on the beach in Samara. Wonderful food, staff and service. Be sure to make dinner reservations there and watch the amazing fire dancers after sundown.

We really enjoyed the stay. The place looks even better in person than it does in pictures. Laurent nicely picked us up at the bus station after our long journey and took us to the car rental when we checked out. He had a lot of good tips for us and was always available for questions. Thanks for the relaxing 3 days! The hot tub on the large terrace was a dream ☺️It's about a 15-minute walk to the beach and about 30 minutes to the city. We rented a scooter, but it is also easy to walk to.

Really nice and beautiful place, so peaceful and private as well, the jacuzzi makes it 100% better as you can get in after a long day at the beach or traveling and then relax. You can hear the people on the other 2 cabins but it is not a big deal

The Nangu Lodge was so comfortable and stylish that I looked forward to spending time there after a long day at the beach. My favorite part of the lodge was the sizable balcony that overlooked the garden and the fact that the balcony windows could be opened all the way. I slept the first few nights with just the screen doors closed. Laurent was very helpful and made many good recommendations in terms of day trips, tours, restaurants, beaches, supermarkets, etc. If I ever visit Samara again I will definitely be staying here again.

Very friendly and friendly, they welcomed us very kindly and kos gave us some recommendations to visit, very nice place, comfortable, close to the mountain and also to the beach. On the second day we had problems with the water, but they fixed it very quickly.

Amazing place to stay. It’s definitely worth each penny. So clean, tidy, calm, and comfortable. They have a great and clean Jacuzzi in the terrace that is surrounded by some beautiful trees. The room has a comfy bed, and the door for the terrace is equipped with a mosquito net-door solution that covers all the entrances. Hot water, great shower and perfect location and last but not least quite friendly and welcoming owner. They gave us recommendations about places without even asking, and advised us about road conditions etc. I highly recommend this place!

We loved our stay with Laurent. Good location, in nature, quiet and a 5-minute drive from the beach. On the other hand, we went there in July so it was very wet. It's impossible to dry our things. Plan to use clothes that dry easily and use microfiber towels. We loved taking a hot tub and eating out. All the windows have mosquito nets, there is only the main door that can let the insects in slightly. We recommend this airbnb!

Beautiful room with Jacuzzi about a twenty-minute walk from the center of Samara. The hosts are French and are very welcoming, they gave us recommendations of places to visit and typical restaurants. Really pleasant stay, very romantic.

Everything is remarkable here. The location in the heart of the jungle, the proximity to the beaches and the village, the calm, cleanliness, amenities and the pretty terrace with jacuzzi. Monkeys come to greet you regularly by having breakfast in the mango trees. Andréa and Laurent are charming and will give you a thousand tips to make your stay unforgettable. Bravo and see you soon. The place is amazing. Everything is very lovingly designed. We were even lucky enough to watch many monkeys and hummingbirds up close from the terrace. Laurent and his wife are incredibly hospitable and always available! To reach the property you should use a 4 wheel drive vehicle. A stay here can only be recommended!

We had a great stay at Nangu Lodge. The accommodation is beautiful, tastefully decorated, clean, there is everything you need to cook if needed. We were able to fully enjoy the terrace and its hot tub. Laurent and Andrea are also great tips for discovering Samara. A big favorite during our stay in Costa Rica.

The air bnb was in a great location, and was super clean! The view was great too and was nice being surrounded by trees. Also the hot tub was amazing!!

The lodge is as described, the owners are very friendly and friendly. We loved the private terraces and the jacuzzi even though it was hot during the day it was nice to swim there every night. The kitchen is also well equipped. During our stay, we were able to see howler monkeys right in front of the terrace! 🦧 but since everything is open to nature, you can also hear them at night... it adds to the charm of the place but it's to know for those who have a difficult sleep.

Nangu Lodge was amazing place for us to stay for three nights. We loved that after the beach days we still had the opportunity to chill in this beautifully styled lodge and relax in the jacuzzi. The place is peaceful if you don’t mind the constant soundscape of wildlife (howler monkeys kept us awake few times but it didnt matter!). Also a good thing to know is the cabin is kind of a half-open all the time because of the ventilation shutters near the ceiling so the sounds from the nature and also from the other two cabins definitely can reach to you. Laurent was very helpful with us when needed. He also offerd us amazing recommendations of restaurants etc. (Roots Bakery became our favorite haha!) We highly recommend Nangu if you are looking for a place which is near to beach and nature at the same time.

Awesome Airbnb! About a 2 minute drive to the center of Samara and the beach. No air conditioning but it's not necessary, the airbnb is in the mountains and we were great at night. Laurent is always here to answer any questions you may have and give you information. I highly recommend this spot.

This place is highly recommended. We spent beautiful days there. Laurent and his wife were super friendly and gave us a lot of information and recommendations for the area. The property is super clean and the decor includes everything you need. The view from the balcony is a dream and the Jacuzzi as well. We would come back any time and thank both of them again for this hospitality. :)

This place is lovely - you're up the hill from Samara with a breeze, the hot tub is a real treat, you can see animals in the trees from your private deck, and the space is very thoughtfully designed and eco-friendly. Most of all we so appreciated Laurent's advice and help while we were in Samara for the week. Note there is no air conditioning - it is still very comfortable in the evenings and at night, but it probably gets hot during the day. If you need to work we recommend the coworking space in town.

One of three newly opened and luxury houses with Jacuzzi, terrace, well equipped kitchen and all amenities. Best of all, without hesitation, the huge window of the bedroom - the entire wall of glass - that opens completely. Laurent and Andrea have thought of all the details.

My husband and I spent 10 days at one Laurent's units. From the minute we arrived till the time we left, Laurent and his wife went out of their way to make us feel welcome and see to out needs- and offered us fresh linen and towel change during our stay . The unit was very clean with a small kitchenette and strong wifi. It was warm during the day but you don't need AC at night with the cool breeze coming in. It was a 1.2Km walk to the nearest beach access and a short 5 minute drive into town center. This unit is like your own private hotel suite with a lively host who will give you privacy, but also be available when you need.

This is a very good place to book if you want to be close to Samara and not in the village, just a few minutes drive away. Laurent’s 1 room villas are very well maintained and pleasant to be in, modern, well equipped and airy. The only downside is that in the dry season (now) there is a lot of dust from the dirt road that settles everywhere. We will be back!

Absolutely breathtaking setting. The place is basically brand new and gorgeous. Great shower and comfy bed. The deck is just insane. Spent quite sometime in the jacuzzi just staring out into the trees. Laurent and his wife were excellent hosts and very helpful. Thank you both for the great stay!

We had a wonderful time at Nangu Lodge. The jacuzzi on the deck was so nice every night! I also really liked that the toilet was separate from the shower and sink so one person could still get ready if the other needed the toilet. The kitchen and oil, vinegar, salt and pepper which was also a nice touch. I loved being able to have the window/doors wide open with the screen net and being able to hear the sounds at night. The howler monkeys are loud in the morning but I loved it. Laurent also gave us a list of suggestions and was very helpful with any questions we had. I would definitely recommend staying here and would love to stay again! Pura Vida!

We ended up staying for 5 nights (extended our stay) in one of Laurent and Andrea’s cabinas. It was wonderful in every way. The cabinas are beautiful, comfortable, clean and modern with everything you need. They feel spacious and have gorgeous doors that open all the way up to the patio with screens. There is even a nice spa tub on the patio which we enjoyed on several nights. They have done a beautiful job landscaping the grounds and it feels very much in nature with the howler monkeys and butterflies. Laurent and Andrea were super hosts, very friendly, offering great advice and they are also interesting, kind people. We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely fantastic! This place is incredible, if you prefer adventure and nature. Also, Laurent was an amazing host who welcomed us and sent us off with a superb goodbye. It was incredibly satisfying to sleep and wake up to birds, crickets, and most importantly, jaguars! Yes, I mentioned jaguars; at least their roars, not their presence! The place is gorgeous. Just remember the parking lot gate opens, FULLY, in both directions! Enjoy

Laurent & Andrea are wonderful Hosts. They've created a beautiful sanctuary up in the hills of Samara, surrounded by the jungle and all the noises that come with it. When you open the huge bi-fold doors of Nangu Lodge is like sleeping in the outside, the howler monkeys are very vocal! The lodge is impeccably clean and the large fans keep the place cool. The hot tub is a nice added bonus for top notch jungle bathing! You'll ideally need a car as Samara is a 5min drive away and the beaches the same. Laurent gave me some great tips on places to eat, highly recommend Mr Pelican for the best fish in town!

Best accommodation we had in Costa Rica and we stayed in Costa Rica more than 2 month. Good to have a car, because the way up could be hard without. I could definitely recommend this place.

The house is uphill on a gravel road. You need a 4X4 and have to drive about 500m up from the Main street 100m After Samara Beach. The Location is pretty nice and very clean ! The Night/Mornings were noisy and loud because of the howler monkeys and other animals around. Notice That the house is Open under the Roof (covered with fly screen). Laurent is a very helpful and lovely gentlemen who Cares about his guests.

A little paradise on Earth ! It's really beautiful and clean as a place to stay. We stayed longer than we expected so it was relaxing as a place. There is everything you need to cook too ! If you were worried about the fact that there is no air conditioning, don't worry about it since the natural ventilation of the place is perfect for being very comfortable ! Laurent and Andréa are super friendly too... it's really a highlight of our trip, we recommend 100% :)
