A beautiful place with a lovely pool. The place is very clean and beautiful. Highly recommended

We had a memorable stay here and the property was as pictured. Omar was very welcoming and met us at check-in to show us around. The main highlight was the wildlife. We saw howler monkeys passing through the backyard, and nearby we saw a sloth at the nature reserve as well as many tropical birds. The location is excellent for experiencing the biodiversity of the area. The pool felt private from neighbors and was very helpful for cooling down. A few practical notes: bring dish soap, hand soap, shower products, coffee filters, cooking basics (like oil/salt), and bottled water if you are sensitive to changes in drinking water while traveling. There was no hair dryer, and while bikes were listed as an amenity, there were none on the property. As expected in a tropical home, there are insects inside. Since the home is open-air aside from the bedrooms, it can feel extremely hot and humid. We appreciated Reza’s flexibility when we became sick and needed to extend our stay by two nights.

Host Response

It was our pleasure to host you. We apologize about the hand and dish soaps. They were in the storage closet. I wish you had asked. We are in the process of getting new bicycles for the house and the old ones are no longer safe to ride. Yes, most visitors to this are buy bottled water. And yes, like most homes in the area the living space is open-air and the Caribbean region can get very hot and humid. We hope you are feeling better.

Loved, loved this place! Especially great for couples planning a relaxing vacation - but can see how a family group would like it too. May not be the perfect fit for families with multiple little ones. Just because it’s basically 3 master suites on the lower level. And you would really have to watch them on the stairs and railings . But I wouldn’t hesitate to bring a family where the youngest’s were 3-5 years old. As long as there were older ones to help keep an eye on everyone. Can’t say enough about how peaceful it is there. The local community was so nice and everyone was so kind and respectful. Reza was responsive and her travel tips were very helpful. Also Omar was great and helpful for the small things that might come up. Manzanillo itself is kind of the “end of the road”. If you want a peaceful tropical vacation with monkeys, birds and sloths this is the place. The wildlife refuge is a 5 min walk - great soda’s 5 min away too for a great meal.

We arrived 6 people, 4 adults and 2 children and spent two weeks in this beautiful place. We felt at home from the moment we arrived, we really enjoyed the open kitchen that had everything we needed. From the second floor area we saw monkeys and different birds and at night we received visits from raccoons. The pool was clean and spectacular with salt water, inside a beautiful courtyard with space for barbecues. Impeccable rooms and bathrooms, with hot water and refreshing air conditioning. Communication with Reza was fluid and aimed at resolving any situation that arose. From the house you can walk in a few minutes to the beach and nature reserve, there are dining rooms and small supermarkets nearby. In summary, the whole family was very happy and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Host Response

It was a pleasure hosting you and hope you return.

2 families stayed for 3 nights on the spur of the moment after we we unable to travel to Panama due to local unrest. Reza did not normally take same day reservations but was able to help us and get his place ready on the spur of the momement. We are so happy it worked out. The house is awesome with 3 rooms with ac and an open air kitchen and living room on the second floor. Being open air just be aware you can have bugs and animals in your living room. Omar did warn us to put all food away which we did nightly and had no issues with midnight visitors. There are ceiling fans upstairs in the front of the house an in each room. The upstairs was cool and comfortable with the fans and breezes. You can hear the ocean from the top floor but you can't see it. The pool was nice and the kids swam in it for hours. It is an eazy walk to the beach, refuge, store and restaurants. Reza and Omar are easy to get a hold of and we're quick to respond to questions We would stay there again for sure..
