What a gorgeous place to stay. It felt like we were really immersed in nature - so calm and tranquil. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed at Jim's place for 4 nights with our two children. We were alone on the property because Jim was on vacation. The co-hosts Kathrin and Sebastian are very helpful and always quick to respond to questions. The house is in the middle of nature and can only be reached via a gravel road. The house is as described, and everything is clean and tidy. Of course, we also got to know Raymon, the caiman, and the neighbor's pig also greeted us and was christened Headnut by us.

wonderful property a reasonable distance from town. Great food options close by (Soda Leila) that can even deliver. Awesome nature escape and unique. Would definitely stay again.

Jim's place is a fantastic gem. The house overlooks an incredible garden where we watched an amazing assortment of wildlife. It was the best place we stayed in Costa Rica, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone. A special thanks to Jim and Kathrin for being so helpful in sharing tips and much more during our stay. Thanks again!

Casa de las Ranas is an incredibly gorgeous house in a beautiful part of the country. We loved the interesting architecture, and really enjoyed the animal visitors each day. The hosts were very quick to reply and were even able to accommodate an early arrival. Their recommended naturalist, Gerson, led us on a fabulous excursion to Corcovado. We also really appreciated the rubber boots. Note that there is no a/c, so be prepared to be one with nature! The main disappointment for us was that the grounds were not as well maintained as we hoped. The trails and one of the platforms were very overgrown, and that meant it was difficult accessing both. However, we greatly enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, even if we didn't explore the grounds as much as we had hoped. The caimans in the pond were wonderfully entertaining, and we would definitely visit again.

Incredible location for nature lovers. Rustic, quiet and charming. Close to some lovely beaches. Loved hearing the howler monkeys in the morning and watching the Caiman in the ponds.

Great house in a fantastic garden. Saw some animals. From there you can easily drive to Drake Bay. Unfortunately, we had no WiFi for 2 days.

We are very glad to hear you enjoyed the house and the property. We wish we had known about your issues with the Wi-Fi, which usually works perfect. After you left we found the starlink router disconnected, the antenna was on the ground. We plugged everything back together and it’s working fine. Wishing you all the best for the rest of your vacation in Costa Rica!

It was a little piece of heaven. Private, peaceful and full of wildlife. The birds were fantastic. Sitting out first thing in the morning listening to the buzzing, croaking and tweeting was remarkable. A magical place

Just heading home from an excellent stay. So peaceful to just sit on the deck and watch nature take its course in front of you. A birders dream house in a natural environment. Beds super comfortable and wonderful to hear the howlers wake you up with the sun if they are around. Loved watching the daily drama with the Basilisk lizards and the Caiman when they were sunning themselves out of the water. A great spot that added to our Osa experience. Thanks Kathrin & Jim

Jim, Kathrin & Sebastian were most responsive to all our questions and provided excellent recommendations for local eats, grocery, private tour guide & onsite massage. First and second level wrap around porches with comfortable seating provided excellent views of the ponds and beautiful garden. Kitchen included all the essentials, comfortable bed with fans making for restful nights. On property garden, ridge and stream trails provided convenient early morning birding, day and night hikes. We saw as many bird, insect, mammal and reptile varieties on Jim’s property as we did on a guided hike in Corcovado NP. Remote, yet no more than 15-30 minute drive to beach, grocery & restaurants. Pick up groceries on the way in and you’ll have no reason to leave the property, until you have to!

This is one of the best AirBnB’s we’ve ever stayed at! Nature at its best, soak in the jungle, Pura Vida. We can’t wait to come back!

The wildlife visible in the garden is amazing - you hardly need to visit a reserve. Early mornings and late afternoons we sat on the balcony and watched it all happen. At night the sounds of the forest envelop you. The house is well designed and furnished and the kitchen had everything we needed. We appreciated the vases of flowers. The recommended guide (Gerson) was excellent and took us on short night and early morning tours. We would certainly come here again.
