Malibu At Pacific Marlin

This place is comfortable, clean, well secured and brand new. The apartment has excellent cliff side views of the ocean and a semi-private pool. The beds are very comfortable and there are many amenities including a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor gas grill/barbecue. However, the location is not good and fees are not transparent. It is inaccurately represented as being in the city center of San Juan del Sur, but the actual location is 2 km from the city center up steep hills and unmaintained roads. It’s difficult to stay at this location without a car, because taxis are hard to find nearby. Of further concern, is an undisclosed 40 kw electricity limit with excess charges billed by the kilowatt. Overall, I’d say if you have a car and don’t mind being a bit farther from San Juan del Sur, this is a great find, but also consider the potential for extra fees.
