This was my second time stay at the Mango Tree house. I enjoyed the privacy and the closeness of the shopping center. I’m looking forward to my next stay there

It is close to the airport, and that is the positive aspect I can point out, in addition to Roxana's kindness. One negative point: We didn't sleep the whole night because, in addition to the noise from the motorcycles (which we saw others mention), we heard people's footsteps all night long, and we weren't sure if it was on the property or not, which made us feel unsafe. It also needs a general deep clean: small cockroaches, ants, hairballs on the floors, cobwebs on the dishes, stained tablecloths (all inside the house).

There’s not much they can do about the loud motorcycles, which other people had mentioned. It didn’t bother me, but it bothered my partner. What bothered me were the little curly hairs all inside the bedsheets. If we weren’t just staying one quick night, I would’ve found a different place. It was possibly just an unclean washer/dryer, but it was quite a lot. I also heard a cat scratching at the doors in the middle of the night (which freaked me out), so we didn’t get much sleep overall. Also hoards of ants across the walkway and under the deck and around the tree (It is a mango tree, so… I get it). Otherwise, convenient stay, and very safe for the car.

We’ve been staying here for years to both kickoff and end our CR journeys, and it’s perfect every time. The hosts are absolutely wonderful and so welcoming. And the location absolutely can’t be beat; less than 10 mins to the airport is unheard of, the home is very easy to find, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance that are ideal for a quick dinner. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts, see you again next year!

As Jeanette and Roxanne mention it can be noisy but we didn’t find it so bad. At night I used earplugs and we slept well. We loved the firm kingsize mattress. Our hosts were very easy to communicate with, flexible and pet friendly. The Mango Tree House is clearly marked on google maps. There is a dog park inside a nice big park close by and there are many diverse and delicious places to eat. But note, recent changes in national health regulations (resulting from a pitbull attacking a child in a shopping centre) are making it more difficult to bring your dog with you to a cafe or restaurant. We like Alajuela much better than San Jose but were surprized at the number of US junk food chains are taking over the centre of town when the local foods are much nicer. Prices of everything are also much lower than tourist places on the coast/s. Overall this places suited us and its also very close to the airport and easy for Uber to find. Gracias!
