This house is special. If you’re staying in this area I wouldn’t hesitate. We were there for 12 days and there was a troop of howler monkeys in the trees on the property twice. So if you’re lucky you’ll have a totally private experience with them. Pool is lovely, ultra comfortable beds, no complaints.

Loved our stay at Casa Avellanas. Very unique Airbnb (and we’ve stayed at a bunch) with a cool vibe.

Great oasis in Playa Avellenas. We stayed with our two older children, they each had their own area and individual bathrooms. The pool was a great way to cool off. The Howler Monkeys in the morning were a treat. Great kitchen and bathrooms were modern and clean. Lovely sitting area both inside and out. Perfect ammentites including washer and dryer. We would come again...and stay. The walk to the beach (about 15 minutes) or a quick drive was fun. Lola's and Barmuis were our favorite spots for food. The beach is beautiful and full of surfers, a bit rough when the tide is up -- we did take surf lessons. As expected the roads were not all paved with plenty of potholes -- but that didn't stop us -- our 4 wheel drive was worth the extra money. There is a new paved road to the JW Marriot that is about to open; which will be helpful.

We had a great time staying here! It was a very nice experience, and the home was beautiful.

What an incredible home. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. A lush paradise. The grounds are beautiful with so many plants and birds and the sounds of monkeys in the background. Near to the beach and local restaurants which we found to be excellent. The people of Playa Avellanas couldn't be more friendly and the hosts were very responsive. We didn't realize from the listing that the master is in its own building and then two other rooms are in a separate building with even another guest house on the property. Gave us a little hiccup with our family arrangement. Overall we highly recommend this home and this area for a less touristy/busy beach spot!

This place is paradise. It’s a toss-up every day whether to make the short trip to the gorgeous Avellanas beach, or stay at home by the beautiful pool. Daniele & Yolanda are terrific hosts, very responsive and helpful. Can’t wait to get back there!

Our family of four (kids ages 15 & 11) absolutely loved our stay at this villa. We spent many hours enjoying table tennis, volleyball in the pool, playing games and watching monkeys in the trees. The indoor/outdoor space is so peaceful and inviting. We were just as happy to go to the beach as to come back and relax in this paradise. The hosts, Daniele & Yolanda, were very responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Great place - the setup worked perfectly for us (family with 2 kids 13 & 10) but it’s versatile enough I feel it could work for most family groups. Our kids loved staying in the separate cabin and the whole place felt secluded and tranquil, lots of beautiful wildlife around. We spent a lot of time just chilling by the pool. Also loved that there are several good restaurants in walking distance (be sure to check out Gregorio’s, it was our favorite place, has the best Costa Rican food at great prices and was a really authentic experience! ) The beach is a 20 min walk or 2 mins in the car. In my opinion a car is necessary unless you plan to do nothing and relax by the pool! Shout out also to the great hosts, super responsive and helpful in every way. Thank you!

Great house! We were 2 families with 5 kids total and this was perfect! The house looks amazing and we had everything we needed for the week. Would book again!

Beyond expectations doesn’t even begin to describe this stay. The photos truly don’t do this home justice. The layout was perfect for both privacy and togetherness. The main house featured a fully equipped kitchen with one bedroom attached, complete with a four-piece bathroom. There was also an additional bathroom located just outside the main home. Two of the other bedrooms were detached, each with their own private bathrooms, which made it feel like a boutique resort. The fourth bedroom was set a little further away and felt like its own private retreat, with a bathroom, veranda, and kitchenette. One of our favorite parts was falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the surrounding wildlife. The location was incredible. Just about 30 minutes from Tamarindo, but honestly, we preferred this area so much more. It had amazing restaurants, cafés and an amazing beach. The hosts were absolutely amazing—so responsive and helpful, answering any questions within minutes. Thank you

This villa was better than we expected; a rare experience with Airbnbs. It is spotless, stylish, and thoughtfully kitted out for a great holiday. We spread out over the entire property - the main villa, casita, and cottage - a setup that was perfect for our family configuration, and thoroughly enjoyed every inch of our accommodations, including the beautiful garden and pool. Daniele and Yolanda were exceptionally responsive hosts and offered wonderful local recommendations. The kitchen is of a high standard but and we enjoyed all the fabulous local restaurants. We were sorry to leave beautiful Casa Avellanas.

This place was perfect for us! Close to the beach of Avelllanas but yet private and secluded! The house was very comfortable, beautiful and made possible our sharing time together without the feeling of being on top of each other, Daniele & Yolanda were incredibly kind, accommodating and fast in any support needed... We built great memories here and hope more family and friends do so too!

Highly Recommend! Daniele’s place was amazing, better than advertised. Super spacious with a great layout, awesome lounge, pool and vibe for our party of 6 (2 grand parents, 2 parents and 2 kids). AC, wifi, showers, etc all great. Loved the indoor outdoor layout. Host had pool and things serviced during our stay and were super responsive with great recommendations. Pretty close to everything nearby, great food and great beaches - you’ll still want a car as the locations are made further by bumpy roads. We had a wonderful trip! Overall highly recommend, better than advertised and would definitely come back!

Absolutely perfect house for our stay in Avellanas. We have young kids and the pool was such a hit; the whole layout of the home worked really great for our group (2 couples + some kids). The hosts were extremely helpful and accommodating both before and during our stay! Would definitely recommend!

We had such a great stay. We love Avellana and this house was perfect for our stay. The outside space is so beautiful and magical…hypnotizing. I could have spent the whole trip on the patio/pool 😊. Great location with easy access to all of our favorite local spots. IMO you do need a car, but we knew that ahead of time. We didn’t use the kitchen but it looked well stocked with dishes and cookware. Thanks again for being so quick to respond and so helpful when the gate remote wasn’t working. Can’t wait to come back!
