Patrick was an amazing host; he responded quickly to all our requests! The house was even more beautiful in real life than in the pictures, the ocean view was heavenly, the pool was warm, and we were lucky enough to see monkeys from the balcony! I would definitely go back!

A true gem, we loved the house and the ocean waves smashing on the rocks below was an amazing experience to wake up to every single morning. Howler monkeys galore our kids could NOT get enough of all the little critters in the property! Toads, crabs, lizards, all safe and sound. Pool was outstanding and we grilled out every night. Highly recommend, Dimas is a cool concierge, he helped a lot. Thanks Patrick for a great time!

This was a top notch house. The location had the most private and best view we could have ever asked for. It is truly breathtaking and a must if you are visiting this area. The house is a little outdated but still very nice and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking ware. Bring your own conditioner and salt/pepper though I’m sure if you ask Dimas, the manager, he would bring you anything you need as he’s super nice and attentive. The address is a difficult one to find but Dimas sent a pin drop on wassap and he actually waited for us on a corner so our driver could follow him to the home as the street is not paved. As far as location, if you are okay walking 1.1 miles in heat and humidity then you can walk to the little town which has a few restaurants and grocery stores. If you walk after 6pm it gets pitch dark on the road so take a phone flashlight or a different flashlight. Overall I can be here all day talking about how great the house is as the views are truly worth it.

We spent 2 wks in CR & this air bnb was my favorite of the places we stayed. It is down an approx 1 mi dirt road along a stretch of rocky coastline. It’s a private, fenced & gated home with large beautiful yard. You can climb down (a somewhat difficult) path to rocky tidepools. Our family of 6 (kids ranging from 6-14) loved wading through the tidepools & finding beautiful shells. There is a beautiful infinity pool, the kitchen is well-equipped and the AC (only in the bedrooms) kept us cool at night. Carrillo beach is only 5-7 min drive away (nice sandy beach) & Samara (beach & town) are 15 min drive. Lots of good restaurants, cafes, & shops there. My favorite was sitting on the bench overlooking the ocean each morning with a cup of coffee. Highly recommend.

This was easily one of the most incredible stays we’ve ever had! If you are looking for the perfect blend of complete privacy and immersion in nature, look no further. The property feels like a secluded sanctuary where you can truly disconnect. We were constantly entertained by the local wildlife—we saw so many beautiful tropical birds right from the terrace and were even treated to a visit from a troop of howler monkeys! The absolute highlight for us was the stunning pool. Spending our afternoons there was a dream, and the sunset views from the water are simply breathtaking—photos truly don’t do them justice. Special thanks to the host, Patrick, and the property manager, Dimas. They couldn’t have been more responsive or helpful throughout our stay, ensuring everything was perfect. We left feeling completely refreshed and are already planning when we can come back. Highly recommend!

Villa 8 was amazing. The view from house is incredible and well beyond the description. Dimas took excellent care of us and is incredibly responsive.

We just returned from a 3-week stay in Patrick's villa and I'm still hearing the peaceful sound of the surf pounding. You can watch the sunrise and set from the house. It was a very easy house to stay in and and we loved the layout, the pool, and the views. It's located on a private dirt road for morning walks. There are a few areas to walk down to see the tide pools (which is a must). We cooked most of our meals at the house and it was nice to have a good selection of cookware, utensils, and serving pieces. The only suggestion I have is to provide an electric hot water teapot. The small town of Carrillo has some new stores & there's a few good local restaurants so you don't have to drive all the way to Samara. We had a few issues with things at the beginning that were quickly addressed by Dimas who lives nearby. We loved the beach chairs and new towels Patrick provided us! Not sure I'll be back but I love Playa Carillo so it's a possibility! Thanks Patrick!

This was our second year in a row at Patrick’s place and we loved every minute of it. A quiet spot with a beautiful view. We recommend sneaking down to the private beach area next to the house to explore the tide pools. Already looking forward to next year.

Villa Ocho has become a family tradition for many years. We hope to continue this tradition next year. We love Puerto Carrillo, and Villa Ocho.

No words, the accommodation met all expectations, clean, tidy, the house had all the amenities for a good stay. The infinity pool overlooking the sea🌊, we saw whale and dolphin sightings, the private beach in the morning as the tide goes down, if you walk you will find different marine animals. If you walk to the left you see a cave. The sunsets are like in the movies. This house has everything you need.

House with all amenities, spacious, with beautiful ocean views and 10 minutes from Carillo beach. Supermarkets and restaurants are close to the property. Highly recommended.

Our second stay at Patrick's ocean villa was as enjoyable as the first. Incredible location on a lovely property with plenty of room for two (or three) families to spread out. Saw plenty of wildlife (birds, butterflies, monkeys, iguanas, and even whales), enjoyed beautiful sunsets by the pool, and always felt safe. Dimas was great when we needed assistance - very helpful and knowledgable. Hope we have the opportunity to visit again. Pura Vida!

The location is stunning. There is nothing like swimming in a pool while watching the waves crash on the shore. We have friends who live across the street & with our large group we were in need of a few extra bedrooms & the house for the bill. The kitchen was well equipped & there is a grill, but we never cooked here to be honest. What time we did spend at the house was outside having coffee in the morning or swimming in the pool. Town & the beach is a drive so you might want to rent a car. if you rent in Samara, they will deliver to the house. Our group hired a shuttle to pick us up from the airport & bring us to the house. This was our 2nd trip to the area & both times we used Samara Info Center for our drivers & tours. Brenda is amazing to work with & a wealth of info. We would definitely rent here again & have already recommended it.
